- Hello everyone and welcome back to The Beatles Forever. Today we will get back to John's sister Julia and find out couple of secrets. The one at the end of the video really surprised me. It has been neat to learn about John and Julia and that they spent more time together than i realized. I am glad they did since their time together was so short.
Beatles forever! Excellent post as usual. Keep’m coming! I also saw a video that John had told Mimi he bought her the beach house for her to live in and keep as a gift but after his death Mimi found out that the house title was never transferred over to her. Yoko allowed her to live there until her death and on the very day she was cremated Yoko put the house up for sale
Thank you for your comments. I appreciate it.
@@thebeatlesforever your doing great 👍 your style and presentation is interesting and informative. Keep going, I will continue to support your channel!
The Beatles Forever, I just watched an upload of a walking tour from Paul McCartney’s childhood home to John Lennon’s childhood home which was Aunt Mimi’s house. I will leave the link ua-cam.com/video/yvWICLlD7zQ/v-deo.htmlsi=V3CxxuB6eMPNRU4u The English gentleman who conducted the tour said that when Aunt Mimi died the home she owned where John grew up was deemed to not be bought by the English National Trust because many of the early Beatle songs were not written there but at McCartney’s House. John hadn’t been dead for 100 years so the home didn’t qualify for them to buy. Yoko then stepped in bought the house, had it renovated and donated it to the National Trust and she deserves credit for that. I guess that means much of the bad gossip about Yoko is not actually true and people need to research before bad rapping her!
Nice to learn about John's childhood.
Thanks for posting this video I enjoyed it. It's amusing how Mimi saw herself as being perfect but she had a toy boy lover. Johns song Julia takes on added resonance when you hear how his life was in his school days and his affection for his Mother.
I was very surprised when I found out that information.
@@thebeatlesforever Me too. His Aunt had human feelings of passion.
Always feel like a fly on the wall with your informative videos!
Glad you like them!
That was wonderful! Peace and Love, Terry and Julia Tutor
Great video. I think Mimi felt Julia wasn't fit to be a mother to John. I read that Julia would go out to clubs and leave John alone in the house when he was a baby.
Aunt mimi just wanted a son, and basically kidnapped John for that. I know that Julia probably wasn't the best mom out there either but they keep him far from his mother and that's so evil. Thanks for your time on this
Mimi didn't want kids, her husband wasn't happy about it.mimi couldn't tell julia off when she was living and sleeping with him, alot younger then her, ment to move to nz,but didn't.they weren't scottish, only lived there.
3:19 Correction, it was called 'bob a job week'. A bob was a shilling in old currency and boy scouts would go around the neighborhood and do tasks for a bob.
Thank you. This adds so much more dimension to the story we were given in the BeatIes Biography. I think John wouId have been much more weII-adjusted if aIIowed to stay with his mother.
Yes, you’re right I think. However, if he had been with his mother then the Beatles may never have happened. It was John who added the emotion to many of the Beatle songs. Emotional pain forced him to be who he was!
Wow, so much We didn’t know. Very interesting and very deep. Gives us more insight on how things were so screwed up. But families were. And people were casualties.
John is my favorite!
Mimi was determined to get custody of John when he was just a child. She found a way to do that when Julia and her boyfriend moved in together along with John. There was only one bed in the home and they all shared the bed. In those days in the U.K. this was perfectly normal among people with limited funds. There WAS a law at the time which stated that a child must have a bedroom of their own or share with another sibling. The authorities generally ignored this law, because it was hard enough to afford a roof over your head, never mind one with a couple of bedrooms. Mimi however reported this to the child authorities and demanded they investigate. They did and reported back that John was healthy and happy and there was no problem with how he was cared for. Mimi insisted that it was wrong and demanded they go back and that the child should be removed from the home of his mother and brought to live with her. That's how he ended up living with Mimi. Mimi fancied herself as the head of the family and ruled over her sisters, as she was the eldest. Just as HER Mother had done before her. Can't help wondering how John would have turned out had he been left under the influence of his fun loving Mother and step-father in a happy home, rather than Mimi.
Thank you for your insight on how things were back then. I didn't know that. It makes sense that as long as the child was happy no one should have a problem with it.
You are right about Mimi she wanted to have things her way.
@@thebeatlesforever Yes, John was born during WW2 in fact bombs were falling around Liverpool at that moment and the baby was placed under the the hospital bed. Homes were hard to get then, many were destroyed by bombs for one reason. Also because many didn't have the money to afford to rent never mind buy. I was born in Britain a bit later than those times however, it took time for Britain to get over the damage from the bombs. I Know about this time from my Mothers many stories as she lived through it in the part of Britain where we once lived. We were directly across the street from a large factory that was busy making ammunition. The German planes wee searching for this factory and bombed all around the area every night but luckily, never found their target and luckily missed the building where she lived with her parents, 3 sisters grandparents, aunts and uncles. Nah Nah ya missed ! LOL
Interesting video. Scouts had Bob a Job Week (1 Shilling), the boy scout does some work and gets paid, to raise money for the scouts.

The wasteland is were the blocks of heights are now.
Thank you for your comment I appreciate it.
Another secret is that Juila Baird barely knew John Lennon after 1958 but continues to make a nice living out of her vaguely remembered connection with her half brother from guilable Beatles fans.
And not such a secret you're a negative creep!
How do you know this? He is he brother you are just jealous she is related to John and you are not you hear the story and you Wanna deny the facts to feed you
She probably saw him twice between 1962-80, she never knew him
Who? Do you mean Julia only saw John twice?
@charlottelouise209 Yes. Apart from inviting her to the Liverpool premier of A Hard Days Night ( Along with the rest of his mother's side of the family) inviting her down to Weybridge for a weekend in the mid sixties ( Obviously out of guilt)and writing her a few letters in 1975 -John had nothing to do with her. Could barely even remember her in fact. She's an absolute fraud and has made a tidy living off being related to him.
Inflectionless, rushed reading of someone else's book. Would've been better if you used one of those AI voices.
