To watch your process from start to finish, is a joy. We see you plant your garden, contemplating the flowers to use in dying, then watch them placed on the yarn and rolled within. Finally, we get to witness the end result, along with you, as you unroll the skeins revealing the beautiful, unique, one of a kind skeins!!!! It must be very rewarding though I know you put in some very difficult days when things don't go according to plan. Please be proud of yourself for your hard work and the gift you have of creativity. Have you ever tried the King Arthur sourdough recipe? I make it and stick it in the fridge for a day even two before baking. What I change a little is that I shape the dough into a banaton and back in the fridge for an hour while my oven and pot preheat. Then I bake it cold from the fridge and it works really well! It avoids the temperature fluctuations and gives a bit more control over your window of opportunity for baking. That being said, yours looks amazing!!

Thanks about the hair! I usually use doves farm organic white as it’s readily available in my area. I use wholewheat Morton’s or Dove Farm, whatever I can get. I feed starter with both flours.
That pink variegated yarn is so pretty.
That pink yarn is gorgeous! Regarding proofing sourdough-I used to make sourdough bread in my younger days. I had gotten a styrofoam cooler and a socket which fit a 7 watt light bulb. I cut out a hole in the top of the cooler to just fit the socket, inserted the bulb, and turned on the bulb to warm the inside of the cooler for proofing the dough. It worked great!

The yarn turned out so pretty. Sour dough is tricky. Some days everything is just right and the loaf is great and some days.....well we try to eat it anywayy. But the challenge keeps me trying for the perfect loaf.
Would love your flat bread recipe
600gram flour
300ml warm water
large pinch salt
Mix together and add a glug of olive oil. Knead for 5mins, then split, roll out thinly and fry on a dry pan high heat. Makes approx 6 large flatbreads

So pleasing, the process... and such beautiful results, totally inspired Emma! I have been growing a wee dye garden each summer for my art (living wool architectures and installations), but sometimes just not getting to use the plants beyond the daily beauty of them. I feel really inspired to use the plants I have ready now, and seize this moment....you have lit a small fire in me, thank you!
