- Will this 1946 Studebaker truck run after sitting for over 50 years abandoned
Will it run after 30 years
Will it run after 59 years
Will it run after 81 years
Will it run
That engine runs better than a lot of 10 year old cars! Nicely done again!
🧢
Darktwistedfucker has clearly never felt an i6 run
Yeah let's see the cars of today do this decades later. Cars of today is almost like a trash bag (disposable) & these electric cars of today don't stand a chance.
Nah bro you crazy 🤪 😂
My car is almost 10 years old and still runs great
I never thought so much garden art could breath life again until I stumbled across this dude 👏

The man is a mechanical genius. I’ve learned so much from this channel!
Air, fuel, and spark. Genius is not required.
Clear squirt bottle for the gas, don't forget that...ha. I love this channel.
Marvel red gave me compression I thought i lost 😂
I wish I lived next door to him lol
@@Joesmusclecargaragepeople glorify him too much even though he’s literally a redneck mechanic doing the basics if you can’t figure those out I guess he’s a genius.
Young Mr. Jennings does it again! She runs great! No knocking, or rocking. Just as smoooth as can be! American steel can sit for decades and still come back to life. If I owned a junk yard I'd be out there everyday trying to start everyone of them! lol.
You & me both.

@@scottyellis3442 👍!
I don't watch every car channel but yours is one I like. Good job.
Thank you
Still waiting for him to get a second set of hands, even just a cameraman so he doesn't have to run around 100 times to give it fuel lol, so much ptsd lol.
@@jenningsmotorsports7554 lol dont watch then
That engine sounds so sweet. She ran 👍🏻
I have tried watching Dozens of other channels and there are 3 including this one I like and this is in my top 2!!!!
"...partial rat-nest package...and the dirt-dauber performance air-cleaner add-on package..." Crackin' me UP!!
These videos are awesome. Thanks brother.
Thank you
I agree
It would be awesome to see you go a couple steps farther on some of these old starts. Like getting a temporary cooling and fuel system and drive em around a little bit. Or even cleaning them out and seeing how well they clean up. Love your channel just wish your videos were a little longer! Keep up the good work bud!
@@istdochallesegal3427 Yeah he drives them once in a while.
I completely agree. I love the channel. ASE Master Tech here. I would love to see him drive them home.
Me too! I'd love to know if he left more of his work in on a longer vid, he'd get the deserved views of mill plus every time. Still knocked it out park tho!!
He's a determined magician!
That's entirely too much work
That barked off nicely. You lucked out with the motor for sure.
One thing a lot of people don't appreciate is just how quiet a flathead can be when it's running.
Love your content, keep it up!
As a retired autobody of 45 years and a mechanic, I positively admire your stamina
I'm glad that Studebaker motor broke loose. Young Jennings does it again.
As silly as it sounds, my biggest take away from all of your videos that I’ve watched so far is that nothing is impossible. Yeah, it’s cliché, but this man makes it happen. You are awesome, thank you for sharing and teaching. God bless you brother.
Mr. Jennings,
I don't see anyone working with this really old stuff like you do. You do an excellent job on getting these old jewels running. Keep up the great work!
It’s so good to see a younger guy that really knows his way around the stuff I grew up working on.
That thing looked pretty nice on the interior - made for an easy start. This motor is known as the "big six" in the Studebaker world. First appeared in 1932 or 33 and was used in cars up through 1950 and in trucks up to 1960. While the truck itself might have seen it last days making shadows on the asphalt, that motor still has a lot of miles left in it. Thanks!
It's so cool hearing these old, forgotten engines roar back to life.
Your patience is astounding, methodical master mechanic for real! Thanks for all the great videos.
Listening to your commentary is 75% of the entertainment value of your posts. Especially when you say crap like here we have the partial rat nest package. You always amaze me when you turn these relics over and get them started.
Brilliant young man, has no rivals on YT. 10/10
Fan blade was stuck on the water outlet. Noise was the belt slipping trying to turn it
Edit: those fans always make me nervous working around
was going say same heard it rite off
Had a '47 Stude M5 years ago, 170cid flathead 6, bought it from a junk yard- took a lot of Marvel's Mystery Oil & patience but she did spring back to life.
I'm not a mechanic. I know nothing about fixing engines or any of that but, I'm fascinated by people that can do this type of thing. If I had this knowledge I would be doing this too and resurrecting all of the old cars out there waiting to come alive once more. Nice work.
I don't watch any car channels, but I watch this one!!!!I love the commentating!!!To the point and understandable!!!Keep up the good work!!!
I have a 46 M-5 original survivor. Just took it for a spin with the grandson yesterday. I really like these old trucks. I just need the time to do some minor body repair and paint. Hate to ruin patina but would like to see her looking like new. Has a little surface (I hope) rust around bolt on fenders and pieces. Some bondo from some old repairs but minimal. Bed good and clean and great shape for the year. Flat head purrs like a kitten and still original 6v system.
This would be a lot of fun getting these old rigs running again
It is... I was practically adopted by a Texan dude but I was already 20, i was going down a very bad path because in my home all it was, alcohol , parties and more alcohol , and too much of everything enough to rotten anyone's soul to the core so I ran away from it but I got damaged can't deny that , I was already married ,,,anyways, he had a bunch of land full of cars like those, we made a deal, I fixed them , he'd sell them, , I used to pay him 475 in rent, we did this for over 10 years, then one day his daughter showed up, she's as evil as they come, treated the old man badly to mortify me, because if I took a swing I was done, anyways ,he got very sick, I decided to move back to Pennsylvania, he gave me an envelope, I left, he died 2 mo later I was told by a old lady friend of ours, he died of a broken heart mostly she said, when I open the envelope, it was a check with the 10 years worth of rent, the old man saved my life, not because of the money, but because it gave me the will to live., I was able to get my mechanics lic, but left it as a hobby...
What's that Vice-Grip doing in there? That ain't no vice grip, that's a tourniquet for the oil line leak! 😂 Amazing resurrection.
i learned to cut my teeth on flat head sixes. Studebaker, Plymouth, Dodge. and a couple Packard straight 8’s .. we would hook a out board gas tank to the fuel pump .. what fun bringing them back to life . thank you for taking us along .. good job man 👍🏼
Kudos on getting some of the most roached out cars I have ever seen to start and run. Looks like fun!
That's a good looking truck, deserves to be saved! Awesome will it run, thanks for sharing! Greetings from the UK!
Hand torqued to correct spec! I love it
Oh she's a runner! A little cranky after waking her up after a 50 yr nap. That engine sounds smoooooooth. Great job!
I'm amazed at how clean some of these engines are in the inside.
I like the after market air conditioning installed to the passenger side windshield.
Wow, can’t lie it sounded great when the clutch freed up on it. Makes me want to go find some ancient truck and get it going again.
Boy I sure do look forward to these videos always makes the day better, reminds me of back home with my grandad
Awesome videos! You do a great job! Really enjoy them.
Gees I could nearly smell the smoke , love these segments keep em coming watching them in Australia
I have two 40s era Dodges I need to start. This is inspirational for sure. Good video.
Wow, it was unbelievable how clean that engine was inside! Great job getting it up and running, Sounded great! Waiting with baited breath for the next Cuda video!
Really enjoy your stuff, trying to keep you supported a little bit. Bobby K, From Fairchild Texas
Wow! You impressed me every time you make run a clunker that’s been sitting around for year’s!! That truck still sounds great! Boy they sure don’t make them like they used to! I’m also looking forward to seeing more on the Cuda! Man can’t wait!! Nicely done!👌😎👍
so sad to see this truck in this condition. i owned a '46 M16 long bed for about 7 or 8 years, in really great shape and it breaks my heart that i 'had' to sell it, actually more like gave it away. i cry about it just about everyday, she was a fairly rare bird that was always well taken care of
Great Video. Thank you for sharing. Nothing better than to watch an old truck, twice you age, running.
Whoever you are, thank you. Don’t stop these videos!
Im gonna get my grandparents 1947 Studebaker pickup running sometime soon definitely going to come back to this video
I love all of the very old cars that you have on your UA-cam CHANNEL
That would be an awesome truck to see fixed up and back on the road!!
Mr jennings I've watched your videos for a while and I have to say I'm impressed, you take some cars or what resembled a car and you get the engine running and some of the vehicles are 80+ years old. thankyou for fantastic content certainly a raising youtube star 👍
Your discriminations of the vehicles are priceless !
You brought this beautiful girl in life again, well done master Jennings, well done !
Ein schöner Studebaker, er schaut etwas traurig doch der Motor ist willig, eine schöne Maschine mit einem schönen Klang. 👍
I love the 46 M5's they're the most unique looking trucks ever. Studebaker sure knew how to make beautiful vehicles.
Gotta love those old flathead inlines. At very least the engine is worth saving on this back to nature special. By the way, am I seeing things or did you forget to install a head bolt?
By the 5th cylinder.
Out of all will it runs this dude is most enjoyable to watch 😅
Well said 👍
Watched eagerly. A well experienced mechanic who is the master in his profession. Congratulations. God bless🙏
Those fender mount turn signals are a real prize. Engine sounds great.
Saw one of these painted all white, frame painted black, and someone put a 4 wheel drive underneath it. Man, did it look really great!
Three weeks is a long time to go without hearing from you, or another video. Hope all is well. We miss your work.
You are absolutely the best “Will it run” You Tuber on the planet.
I swear this man is a mechanical necromancer, If he can make a 100 year old rust block run, he can make anything run.
Love old Studebakers. This old girl still has life! Runs beautifully. Great job!
For a minute, I thought you'd found my half-ton high-school hot rod! In 72, my dad and I stuffed a 283/Powerglide combo into it, which we plucked from my uncle's crashed 59 Impala. We left the flat-head/4spd sitting under a sycamore tree, it was still there in the late 90's. Good times!
The "real good dirt" inside made me chuckle. Because it's true. 😂
What a lucky break. I don't think that engine was stuck and the starter eve worked too. Either way you did it, nice work. I have a 1990 Dodge 2 wheel drive pickup with a NP 435 that got stuck in two gears. The shifter comes out of the top and didn't feel right, but the real telltale was whenever I let up on the clutch pedal the engine just stopped. In my case, I cut the floor open and took the top off, repositioned the gears and forks and it was fixed. I was changing seats inside the cab and I believe I bumped the shifter, but I often wondered how it could have gotten stuck in two gears. Any Ideas? ben/ michigan
It can happen if your shift linkage is not properly adjusted - might be at the Neutral cross-over while still partly in a gear, allowing another gear to be selected at the same time.
Poor ol girl needs alot of tlc thats fir sure! Good job
Give him just a quarter of WD-40 and he can get anything started
Great video as always. Much love!!
Right on!!! I have an old Stude in my back yard that I'll get to some day.
With how good condition the engine was in I was almost expecting you to the the car for a spin by the end of the video... maybe if not the damn clutch :D
Great video ! Thanks another piece of history saved , well going at least !
Thanks , frome Bangladesh.
This is why I subscribed a year ago. Hadn't seen what you've been up to due to business on my own end but it just keeps getting better. You're a smart gentleman and must be an archive of knowledge. Thanks for sharing that with all of us brother.
We play “will it run” with the brand new Audis that roll off the truck too.
I don’t know how I’ve only now discovered your channel but man… you have become my idol and my inspiration! Lol Seriously dude, you make this shit look easy and I know from experience that most of the time, it ain’t! Keep up the great work and be safe! (I’ve watched quite a few of your videos over the last few days and I’m amazed that you’ve only been singed twice that I’ve seen. I can’t make toast without “setting the world on fire”!

Running is on thing. Driving it is another. That is what I want to see in every one of these kind of shows.
In-line 6 will always be my favorite
LMAO @ the large stick package. Sweet addition to any Studebaker

That engine sounded great!
Congrats to you, again!
I really enjoy your videos and was wondering if you will or Would do a garage walk through one video one day.😊
Excellent job. That engine runs very well, even with the stuck cooling fan and the slipping V belt in the beginning. Keep up the great video's. Merry Christmas.
I'd like to see a Longer form video where you get it running and Driving too. Maybe even focus on one car or truck and restore it. I've seen your videos for a while and you are doing a fanstastic Job getting them running despite all odds.
When are you uploading more content I enjoy what you do very much sir! Great content! I love working on cars, been a passion of mine since I was 14! And I enjoy watching you do it cause you ain’t scared to dive in! Keep up the good work and I’m hoping for more content!
