the way erin's exclamation about orla inviting their grandfather started off in a kind of jokey way but then she genuinely smiled at orla's explanation is so cute
I didn't think she said it in a jokey way
“He’s the fella I like the most.” My heart! ❤️
That was so sweet! 🥰
yeah, i love Orla, shes so sweet ❤️
Orla is the best!!!!
Orla is a pure soul.
@@the_real_bin_chicken her mum sarah is something else a woman i would like to meet
“You’re looking well Joe”
“It’s not all shite you talk Gerry” 😂😂 nicest thing he’s said 😂
Thank youuuuuuu!
I would have loved to have seen granda joes reaction when Orla asked him to her prom.
I love how Michelle doesn't tease Orla for bringing Joe and treats it like it's totally normal
Michelle has seen Joe destroying Gerry and she is smart enough not to get herself in the line of fire.
I also feel like Joe is the whole groups grandad. And for how long she's probably known Orla, she probably wasn't surprised at all. Or, Orla probably told Michelle she asked Joe. @@rafaelcosta3238
You can tell Joe is happy in this scene because he gives Gerry a backhanded compliment rather than a straight up insult.
Orla might be a bit kooky, but she is the purest of em all
She the funniest I swear
She is a pure soul.
lol, she is not firing on all cylinders
@@georgebarnes8163 probably just neurodivergent
@@iamsimplybee She is fine in real life, really plays the part of the space cadet very well.
Jame´s phrase "your mom rang me" have so much meaninig. Mary is such a wonderful mother.
I think one of the reasons the scene, and the pay off when James turns up works so well, is because it builds from Mary’s expression as soon as Erin enters in her dress. Mary knows exactly what’s going to happen, because she knows exactly what kind of person Erin is and how she builds these things up in her head, and it’s a nice moment, despite knowing what was going to happen, she wasn’t going to let her daughter go upset.
I think every girl has had this happen to her at least once. You can see the grief in Mary's face for Erin.
She did say it was super casual
Sometimes it takes a good female writer to make a good female led show. It's noticeable when the stories feel more genuine. Derry Girls is a great example of that
When James came for Erin at the end I cried, it was so pure.
Orla asking Granda to the prom is my most favorite! 💕
Orla dancing with Joe had me grinning ear-to-ear 😁
Barristan Selmy breaking out his old King's Guard Whites for the occasion! :)
Love it. Orla has no problem being herself and poor little Erin literally said "I don't want to be me"
Brilliant set of scenes from Derry Girls. The scene with Orla and Joe dancing is really sweet and the scenes with Michelle desperately trying to keep the two lads she has come with apart and the one between Claire and Chris are really funny, but the best one by far is the one with Erin and James. The dialogue is brilliant (especially the line where James says it’s not a creep convention and it’s not important) and the music (Independent Love Song by Scarlet) fits absolutely perfectly. The rest of the music was ‘Deeply Dippy’ by Right Said Fred, ‘Back For Good’ by Take That (which the jazz band at the dance do a version of as well as a version of ‘Things Can Only Get Better’ by D:Ream which is the song Orla and Joe are dancing to) and ‘Sunshine On A Rainy Day’ by Zoe
The moment cranberries started playing I was hooked in. 😂 Derry girls has awesome song choice.
I love this scene so much. Orla wanted her grandad to go with her and James the wee English fella went to take Erin after that guy stood her up aww my heart🥰🥺❤
4:56 EVERY GIRL DESERVE A GUY WHO'D LOOK AT THEN LIKE HE IS LOOKING AT HER...my heart🥺💖
You mean a friend-zoned guy you keep on the back-burner for when your hot date doesn't show up?
We all need a James to turn up as the Doctor in our hour of need 🥺❤️
Imagine if Dylan is actually playing the next doctor tho?? Gotta be honest, I would love that 😅😂
@@amywonderland9297 I think Louisa Harland would be good as a Tom Baker-ish "completely out of her tree" version. Ian McElhinney would also be good if they ever decide to go back to a Hartnell sort of version. I see Dylan as being another Peter Davison homage but with David Tennant and Jodie Whittaker...I kind of want to see a more weird and eccentric version.
That's just my added "if they ever try to look for a new Doctor in this cast" 2 cents.
The close relationship between Orla and her grandad really reminds me of my sister and my Opa..❤ Its a very special bound between Granddaughter and Grandad !!!!!
I can’t help but come back for the sweetest grandpa-granddaughter dance of Orla and Joe. Always ❤
I can rewatch every episode again and again. It makes me laugh so much.
I low key want James and Erin to get together. The end scene just solidified my ship for them 😍
Can't wait for season 3! There will be one right.
@@bananacathammock I 5hink they have started filming!
I know that will probably happen, but I’d honestly rather see him with Orla.
@@DSGodiva me too.
@@DSGodiva I want him with Orla too😭
What an enjoyable wholesome show. Great soundtrack. I sure do miss the 90's
Only thing I miss from the 90s was the affordable property prices…
@@samirotba1970 Agree, so much cheaper and easy to access, bought a few derelict terraced properties in Belfast for £5 each and renovated them, bought the house I live in now for only 23 K in 1997 spent another 16 K on improvements, now worth 180-190K.
The dance made me remember my grandpa and wish he was here and have a dance with me 😭💔 I miss him ❤️
Love the Girls from Derry, bummed this next series is going to be their last.
If they wait much longer it's going to be called Derry Pensioners.
I think there's gonna be a film soon ?
Seen this scene so many times and it is still my favourite, both James showing up like a white knight but mostly Orla saying that Grandda was the fella she liked the most.
Makes my heart melt everytime ❤❤❤
FROM CHINA… no Donegal 😂 gets me every time
Orla dancing with her grandad was 🥲😭👌🏼
Orla is the friend and sister that we all want
Orla is a show of her own.
I love Orla so much 🥰
I haven’t watched the full series of this show, yet, but I would love to think that James and Erin are one of those rare couples who meet and fall in love as teenagers and go on to be married for over 50 years, everyday falling even more in love with each other than they were the day before.
And Ma Mary, like the loving and wise mother she is, knew what would happen before anyone else. The day James walked into their lives and became a Derry girl, she already knew.
I'll be Honest if I, as a man, could have Ser Bartistan take me to prom I would lol
YOOOOO!!!! this blew my mind!!
Hell yes. He’d probably win prom king too.
he’s really good looking even at his age lol
THAT’S who that guy is!!! It was driving me crazy 😜! I thought he looked familiar
The laugh I had when Varys showed up as a medium charlatan living in his mom's basement in the last season
Orla dancing with Joe is my comfort scene 💕
I'm so happy that she did not go to the prom in that blue sausage casing gown. The Easter dress has so much more class.
Can't wait for the 3rd, sadly the last season.
I am a 43 year old man and I welled up when I watched this. Everything about it is perfect
Que suerte que tienen a su abuelo. Yo extraño mucho al mío. ❤
Orla, you sweetheart
John Paul doesn't stand Erin up. She asks him to prom, but he doesn't say he's going, let alone that he's going to pick her up. She falsely assumes he will.
Plus she told him it was not formal and she was going with her friends as a group, so probably he thought it was ok if he didn't go
Cool story.
@@ximezaav Yes, her being devastated at being 'stood up' is ridiculous.
It is rediculous but teenagers with no life experience often are rediculous. I think it's possible to empathise with Erin's clumsy and awkward way of building a situation up in her head out of a desperate ideal and then feeling hurt when it doesn't happen, and it doesn't mean that the other person has actually done anything wrong
@doom There's no evidence of that. He shows little interest in her. What's more likely is that she told him to pick her up at that time & she assumed he would.
Orla is a fantastic character
James is the BEST
orla's relationship with granda joe is the sweetest thing ever oh my god
I miss dancing with my Granda so much 💗
Ya know seeing the great Barristan Selmy dancing with his granddaughter it quite something ain't it 😂
"We're not wee anymore ORla" * hair flip *
Seriously where is the third season? I miss the girls.
Something named covid got in the way
@@littlewoot Yeah...
I don't think Corona's are being sold here either. Used to be a refreshing summer drink...now everyone has moved on to whisky.
Ser Barristan Selmy's got some serious dance moves ❤
.........that is so fucking adorable and wholesome.
Great soundtrack to this episode
when we were wee we
Grandpa is a silver fox
Is that Ser Barristan Selmy!? 😲
It sure is
No, you simpleton. it's Ian McElhinney. He's an actor. Barriston Selmy isn't a real person.
What happened in season 3 puts every episode into a new perspective
Does anyone know the song that is playing when James and Erin are leaving the house?
Independent love song
Beautiful ❤️❤️❤️
can someone tell me what Joe says to Jerry after Jerry tells him he's looking well? Even the closed captions can't get it.
What Sinead O'Connor song is that?
It's not Sinead O'Connor, the song is by a duo called Scarlet called Independent Love Song.
@@jorvikaengelskvinna7157 thank you so much!
What is the song at the end?
At the very end of the vid, dreams by The Cranberries. Or if you mean the last scene, Independent love song by Scarlet
@@amount2nothin244 I did mean the last scene. Thank you!
Erin & James do make a cute couple
James had to step up
From China? Lol 😂
“No, Donegal” 🤣
❤️❤️❤️
Wonder if they will end up together
Slim Pickens talking about Jason Robards Jr
How old is Joe ?”””?.?
Honestly it's been so long I started losing host.
Wow that dress is proper hideous.
90s songs performed in a 50s style sound ridiculous.
I never understood autistic coded until Orla🥹 She’s like me!
