Billy's voice, gestures, the scene... like a top crime boss giving instructions to his gangsters who listen humbly.

These Catch wrestling techniques are really worth gold. Simple yet unique. Never seen them in any grappling gyms. Thanks so much for sharing.

Chokes are cool but those moves are just disgusting and I have no interest in learning how to damaged somebody's spine

@@quasar4601 You won't if you're competing. The point is to make them tap out. And, if you use it in self defense, why not be as brutal as you need to be?

Josh Barnett won the No Gi worlds in I think 2009.I think since then IBJJF have tightened up on who they let compete lol.

It would be very interesting to see some of these great catch wrestlers against some very good bjj blackbelts. I would love to see that.
    Great stuff as always btw!

The IBJJ F reminds me of a nun I use to go out with. She kept saying none of this and none of that.

It's already been done my friend...K. Sakuraba (Catch Wrestler) against the Gracies (Very Good Black Belts) A lot of MMAers have used Catch in the past against BJJers. Ken Shamrock, Frank Shamrock, Randy Couture, Bas Rutten (all these are skilled in catch, among other things)

Josh Barnett beat one of the best bjj practioners- Dean Lister in a grappling match via kesa gatame submission.

Matt Fury has a good DVD instructional on neckcranks. Erick Paulson too.

  • @KJGould
    @KJGould 12 років тому +4

Erik Paulson has the first 10 minutes of Neckbreaker up on youtube I believe. Paulson has learned his cranks from Robinson, Gene LeBell and the late Larry Hartsell I believe.

I just love the front headlock escape at 2:56 . That is a common street hold I have seen unskilled street guys use and can be tough to get out of if you dont know what to do. Catch Wrestling rocks, and to me, gives BJJ a run for its money.

Most painful Damage Control for sure. Face locks are extremely dangerous and obviously very painful. Great flow.

These are dope, I hit these types of cranks from back control and seatbelt. Give them the escape and belly down and away. A lot of times you'll have to re grip for the choke but the crank can still work. I crank them from seatbelt by pulling it all in really tight and getting their head on my trap while driving into them.

I'm a Gung-fu instructor and have two awesome SiFu's. One of them, Doc Savage, reminds me of your Billy Robinson.
A wealth of knowledge, but.. could work on patience, maybe? Lol
As I'm pulling out someones eye he'l stop and say.. Oh, now.. TURN the eyeball and stretch the retina. ~just Amazing.

You couldn't understand Billy??? That was the Queen's Modern English there, Man :) He's actually quite professor-like in person - like an Oxford or Cambridge man. You think that's tough to understand? Try having a conversation with my English relatives - Cockneys & Pikers. Lots of luck, Mate.
