OMG thank you so much for this video, I just got my addi and I could not for the life of me do this. I have been knitting and crocheting for over 20 years lol. and was already to send this machine back. I make 100 beanies a year for homeless for charity and thought ok lets try this. But with this video I did it...Thank you
I think this is an excellent tutorial, thank you for sharing it! The instructions were easy to understand. I especially like the way you started the hat. I have watched several videos demonstrating how to make a hat and yours by far is the easiest to understand. Now I am going to make several hats! Thanks again.
Thanks! Perfect video, very easy to understand and clear. Now my hat brims are much better looking and I appreciate the time you took to create the video.
This is such a good presentation. I'm so glad I can see the size of the finished hat. This is too small for such a big 46 peg loom. This keeps me from wanting this so expensive a knitter. I bought the knitting machine from Michaels and the same thing. All it will do is a baby hat. Waste of $$ but I didn't return in time. So I'm stuck unless I use it as a flat panel. I use heavy yarns. Thank you for your time in presenting.
Hi thankyou for sharing , after making the Brim i take it off the machine and then i crochet the rest but i make the Brim much longer it worked out really well
Great video for a 1st time addi addict, lol. Btw, I also still like loom knitting and used a loom knitting hook to pull the brim loops over the needles to make the brim and worked fantastic. I was learning on my daughters Addi Express King size machine so now I will purchase my own. Thanks for the video and will look for more from you too.
Great video! Love the angles and how clear it is. I’ve done the manual looms and they come with a hook that looks similar to the hook you’re using but are made specifically for the looms. ☺️
Just a tip you might like. Set up on waste yarn for 7/8 rows. Then use **contrast crochet cotton** for one row only !!!! Knit your rib and after pick up stage and knit on a few rows ( or when you finish) pull out the crochet cotton one row used. Then you can use the waste yarn a few more times until you see it ravel a bit?? Have the crochet cotton a nice length and it can be used many times. Note == I like to double the end of the wool and use it to pick up the stitches, it's much stronger and might not break when you pull it through !!! This next tip would work when you use waste yarn and pick up after you have a few hats on the go !!! I knit loads of hats for the Christmas box appeal for children . Another tip if I may. I would always leave a waste yarn 7/8 rows and the cotton row for next hat( hats) would do 6/8 hats and sit back and finish them off. 80yr old Crafty ❤
Hi, I came here from Marilyn Lacey's channel. She gave your tutorial a great review. I could see what you were doing very clearly...so I must give this a try! Also, I like the way you showed your yarn choices.
If your counter doubles and you said the brim is 75 wouldn't that actually be more like 37-38 rows? Can you give the actual length of your brim and finished hat please? 😁
When you make your brimmed hat you make it look so simple than most of the video I have seen. Thank you so much for this video on using your Addi Express King. I will try your method, and I have sudscribed to your channel as well.
You can get a tool like your dental pick called a knit picker it came with my round loom set along with a yarn needle, although the dental pick is very clever I loom knit but been wanting to get an Addi for a while your video help me in the fact that now I know I want one for sure
I love the video great job. looking forward to seeing more videos from you. I love the Addi my daughter and I just made 7 sets of hats and scarves the hats were tubes with pom poms on top like the ones on Margret Olanders channel. The scarves were made on the smaller Addi with pom poms.
The Walgreens instrument is called a dental scaler. Very nice video thank you for sharing. My right hand ligaments are all swollen and actually considering if this machine would be useful.
I have the small Addi. Love that little machine, however, the counter continues to present a problem. I sent it back to the company and they replaced the machine, however, the 2nd machine's counter continues not to give an accurate count. I still have to measure my Addi knitted items. What I love about the Addi is that it does not drop stitches like the Innovations Knitting Machine does.
great video !!! Boy this really showed me why i want to use the scrap yarn. Maybe you could teach me how to make some boot cuffs or fingerless gloves :-) pretty please XXOO
Hi there. Thank you for your tutorial on this. I'm struggling to make a beanie for myself with a head circumference of 56 cm or 22 inches. How many rows should I knit my beanie?
Hi, thank you for your video. My question is this. I always seem to drop one stitch where the color switch is happening after the first five contrast rows before my main color of the hat. Can you help me with this. Thank you.
Since your counter doubles and you've gotten 75 rows before you do the brim does that mean you would normally need like 35-40 for a regular counter? How long inch wise is the brim and hat total?
I am a new circular machine knitter and watched this to learn to make brims. Thanks your video is easy to follow. I am having problems however in that on both my attempts, the brim turned out fine but it drops stitches around the third row after the brim or double up is attached. On both tries the dropped stitches happened on the same spots. Any ideas?
I just got the addi kingsize. I really like it but it seems like there is a needle or two that likes to be stuck up, making it really hard to use. Any idea how to fix it? Thank You.
Great Vlogs, Are you able to use fluffy or delicate blends like mohair? ALso, when using the panel knitting are you able to use less stitches or do you have to use the complete pegs on the knitting machine?
Hi there I am starting to make hats for my local cancer ward. I have a PRYM maxi machine does exactly the same as yours I just don't have a counter . How long in inches do I have to make the brim before I fold it . And also how long should I make the rest of the hat please . If you can help me I would be so grateful thank you sarah from England
I have another question about what gauge yarn you have played with on this machine. have you tried a "thicker" type yarn or maybe 2 "at once" of those thin loopy fancy yarns? Any thought on those kind of ideas would be really interesting ~ what do you think?
Hello, is it possible to just pull the waste knitting undone without cutting and wasting it so it can be used again? Also can jumpers be knitted on this machine?
Heather Watson Between the waste yarn and the main yarn, knit 1 row with a thin, smooth yarn, like cotton or rayon, or dental floss. After the hat is finished, pull on one end of the thin yarn. The waste yarn will pull away from the hat and can be reused.
It is right at the 3:37 mark I am doing something wrong it creates a hole. And when I go to put the main color on the hook to make the brim I notice there is one missing. So between the last white and first black this is happening.
I can't seem to get my pieces right. I usually hand knit hats and sell them with size 7 needles (US) with Red Heart acrylic yarn. But when I use this machine, the space between the stitches is huuuuuge. I'm not dropping stitches, yet my product has enough stretch and is so thin that you can see hair when wearing a hat made from the machine. What do I do?
Hi dear, I jus saw ur video on hat. It was v nice. Can u pls send me some details like blanket, sweater can be knitted in this machine. Thanks Natasha I hope u will reply soon.
Hi there please can u tell me where i can get one of these machines and how much? I live in the uk Please can u help me find one as iv tried and tried to knit but with no luck and this would help me as i want to make a hat 4 my sister as shes going threw kemo right now

hello
big big thanks !! this tips is perfect and simple : good for hat but too, socks, etc,
very clear, video good quality
I used this video to put a tube scarf back on to machine to add more length. WORKED 🙌 Going to make the brim hat next. Thanks for your GREAT videos 😀
Thank you. This was excellent.
Thanks just got a small addi to do handwarmers and this will be great for the top...
Hi thankyou for sharing , after making the Brim i take it off the machine and then i crochet the rest but i make the Brim much longer it worked out really well

You're very welcome! Thank you for the feedback - Melissa
I love love love this idea! I've been trying to figure out a way to do a single-thickness beanie without the rolled edge. Fantastic, thank you! :)
Great video! Love the angles and how clear it is. I’ve done the manual looms and they come with a hook that looks similar to the hook you’re using but are made specifically for the looms. ☺️
Glad it was helpful!
How do you change yarn after you do the double brim. Say I wanted to do another color

Thanks for the video. I was wanting instruction on a hat that I don’t have to double.

If you have the niffty loom kit the red hook tool works great too. Happily I have two of those tools. Thanks for posting this!
Great video, totally complete! Thank you!
GREAT tutorial! Thank you for sharing.

I kept wanting to say "a loom needle works" for the beginning of this video. But I will say the tool she uses is nifty enough
I tried this. It totally worked. Thank You so much! :0
I'm waiting for delivery of Addi!! Thanks
Most helpful, thank you 🌞

Great video - thank you.
When you state ‘about 200 rows’ for the hat, does that include the 70 rows for the brim?
Thank you for sharing, awesome techniques, got my machine today :-)
Michael Fedele from Florida
I feel like this thing could use a power drill attachment.
great vid, i have not yet tried this, but i will now, thanks.
Thank you for this video! How many rows do you make after the brim? From a beginner!
They say off counter is from static. Put dryer sheet in the hand and let your yarn pass over sheet.
Store the needle in the hole on the left side of the machine. You can use a small crochet hook to pickup the loops too.
Thank you for the feedback. - Melissa

Fun to watch.
I was wondering how a brim was added to a hat on a knitting machine it looks so simple. Thanks for making the video.
How many pins of the addi express knitting machine? Thanks for your vdo.
You probably could find a loom hook at craft store and use like your dental pick. It’s shaped similar to the dental pick
lol
Loved it! Thank you!
Can you do smaller sizes of hats with this machine?
Can you use 2 yarns at the same time, to make a thicker hat? TIA
I just got the addi kingsize. I really like it but it seems like there is a needle or two that likes to be stuck up, making it really hard to use. Any idea how to fix it? Thank You.

Posso sapere dove lo posso trovare grazie questa macchina per maglia
Thanks
Muito bom seu vídeo 😀
Bonjour
Existe t'il un tricotin mécanique avec plus de 48 picots svp .
Merci d'avance pour votre réponse
Why not hand knit p2 k2 for brim, then transfer the needle stitches to the machine.
I have another question about what gauge yarn you have played with on this machine. have you tried a "thicker" type yarn or maybe 2 "at once" of those thin loopy fancy yarns? Any thought on those kind of ideas would be really interesting ~ what do you think?

Online. Start at Amazon, but a Google search for Addi machine will work.
i could see an arduino and a stepper help you with inching the "wheel" and running the stitcher
I tired this and when I cut my waste yarn..... the seams came apart.
😑😑😑😑😑😑😑😑
I don't know what I did wrong.
Michaels has that yarn.
On fait que du rond ???
