he mostly talks trash about multiplayer games , creating a single player fps game with Ragdoll doesn't make you a genius norr a triple a game designer ..
Not a bad demo from the looks of it. The ability to move your red dot closer to your face to provide a larger window would be nice. That's the only thing I saw that I would like improved. It was really hard to see through that Aimpoint-esque red dot on the Scorpion.
What does this game bring that we haven't seen before? Basically it's a bunch of basic features you learn while learning the engine that have all been slapped together. The procedural killbox, from a developer perspective, isn't a mind blowing moment. It's very basic. Everything is very basic. Adding known voice actors isn't a saving grace for a game. He'll need to show a lot more than just this to impress me. The game is dated before it's even released.
your expecting him to innovate in the fps space. the things he's doing at the size he is at is very good. you can make those same arguments about call of duty and every other fps. the point of this one is that you can create quality from passion. its not about breaking the mold.
I really want to make an Aliens Colonial Marines game that is more like an older Starbreeze / monolith game with an on-character inventory. I feel like because it worked for Alien Isolation it should work for Colonial Marines. Making your marine slow and lumbering and the shooting more realistic would make the game scarier. Cant blame him for wanting to make his own game if he has frustrations with the average fare. But being scathing about it is silly. Devs make products for customers and make them with focus in mind.
To be fair he's not "making his own game" he's using the money he made from UA-cam bashing games to hire developers who are good and established. He also hasn't only gone after scummy things in the industry, he attacked a lot of indie guys making games by themselves with no funding with no help and is why people want to see him crash and burn (it doesn't make it justified). That being said I like Big Fry I have been subbed to him for years and years and his game looks dope and I will support it even if its not perfect. I just feel like it's a fair point of order to make.
im sorry but he isnt just using his money to create the game... the dude is directing his own studio of devs and playing a MAJOR part in the whole thing.
@@applydesigns I never said he had nothing to do with the project. His money helps him hire established devs, and some of the people who he hated on did not have the ability to do so. You are correct he is a part of the process, but that is not what the video said is it? it said 'big fry is making a game". "Directing" as you put it, is certainly not "making" a game, right? Personally I would say producer would be a more accurate title and theres nothing wrong with that. As I stated earlier I like big fry and I even agree with a lot of what he says about kick starter scams and the state of gaming. I just don't agree with everything he says or every video about him.
Excited to see how this turns out. Only thing I wasn’t a huge fan of was the AI- kinda dumb but that’s par the course for FPS games. Everything else about the demo felt pretty awesome
The bashing is ABSOLUTELY justified. Bigfry is the voice of majority of dedicated hardcore gamers, not filthy casuals. Those people hoping he fails? They're they exact reason why the industry is in shambles. They put the industry in a position where someone like Fry can come along and fill the void they have ignored for years. I'll trust Bigfry's word before I'll trust any other voice in the gaming world. PERIOD. Dude *HAS* been transparent about everything from the jump. Fry jumping into game development? I'm there for this. He's been echoing my sentiments for years, and he openly admits he doesn't know much about the technical aspects... That's why he gathered the folks he did. He has dropped regular updates on everything he is doing with Transience, whenever there is something worth of note. For a tech demo, its a very impressive effort. The problems like AI will obviously be hammered out. the is is a tech demo mean to give a vertical slice of gameplay... OF COURSE it's not even close to finished. I would been ridiclously impressed if the AI was on point already... this early in development, not even AAA devs have that sorted out. Why should Fry be the exception, given the far smaller budget?
Not a casual myself but I think his game isn't good either. Played the demo and suffers from a lot of the shitty issues I have with other games. But everyone seems to praise it because its him yet I have played many games like it that the likes of fry would bash
I mean, sure it does look very decent - but I'm not seeing how exactly is it standing out from other tactical fps shooters, like what does this one have that all the rest don't. So it seems this game will have to heavily rely on content and netcode or the quality of gunplay as well as AI if it's going to be a single player experience. Would also be nice if it gets sandbox-ish modes where you can set up maps and rules of engagement/game modes and modifiers etc and just mess around.
@@elJaviFlores Well for example, something random off of the top of my head.... Variable Reload.. Like imagine when reloading, your operator may reload in different ways.. sometimes he snaps the mag on perfectly, other times he fumbles a little, or takes slightly longer to position it.. which can be affected by whether or not you're being shot at, giving you a either a speed boost on reloading but at a risk of fumbling hard and making the reload take more than usual (risk and reward). Additionally, this could be spiced up by introducing progression skills or perks that can influence the operator's standard reload sets (like if you have proficiency, you will see better animations, and if you have very high proficiency, you'll see even faster sets, with very low fumble chances). But again, nothing wrong with just following the already-established formulas.. however if they do so - they will really have to find 'something' to make the game stand out and not blend in with all other generic fps shooters.
I’m not sure if you’ve watched all his devlogs, but from what I’ve understood and the way he portrays this project it’s not supposed to be revolutionary. He’s building a story based single player game akin to half life or payday or any number of old story driven single player games. He’s not trying to reinvent the wheel rather just adding more options for you to play. Imo everything doesn’t need to be new and revolutionary, sometimes just having more stuff that follows the standard good shit formula is enough. (I meant max Payne not payday)
@@anonymous-ml8sl Well, to be honest that indeed sounds very good. I agree it would be really nice to have fps games where you can play around and set your own experience to your own preferences, or change them up if you're looking for more challenge.

i grinded the killhouse a little bit and got a time of 17,46s and well my impressions is that: this game feels very indie, like a low budget Ready or Not. The AI is passable, not bad but not good, the gunplay is 7/10 feels junky in a nice way, but the sights aint done well, and the effects of gunfire seems excessive. Its clearly a demo and features are missing. Have potential but not putting my hopes up on this

With something to prove and being a company not obligated to bring shareholder value it would be easy to beat a big Dev who is publicly listed.
"If you think these games are so bad, why don't you make your OWN game"
Big Fry: Hold my M4
he mostly talks trash about multiplayer games , creating a single player fps game with Ragdoll doesn't make you a genius norr a triple a game designer ..
@@Injabsful he's talked trash about tons of terrible asset flip singleplayer games, but go off lmao
@@YaBoiEye These people will find any reason to discredit me at this point. Reading some of these comments are pathetic as fuck lol
turns out they were correct then lol
Theres a FPS hardcore as well with comics book style cutscenes. It's A.W.O.L
The ai instantly shot me when I entered the catwalk/stairs X3 they also bunched up like 2 or 3 at a time trying to squeeze thru doors hehee
As soon as i saw those comic-style cutscene, I immediately knew that bigfry was a max payne fan......
Not a bad demo from the looks of it. The ability to move your red dot closer to your face to provide a larger window would be nice. That's the only thing I saw that I would like improved. It was really hard to see through that Aimpoint-esque red dot on the Scorpion.
my biggest gripe is that the guns have no reverb at all. They all sound internally suppressed for no reason
You're a way less annoying Bluedrake42 sounding dude and I can appreciate that.
This has a ton of potential and Im ersonally really excited to play it!
There was a game out years ago that did this art style best called"13".
The game is dated before it's even released.
your expecting him to innovate in the fps space. the things he's doing at the size he is at is very good. you can make those same arguments about call of duty and every other fps. the point of this one is that you can create quality from passion. its not about breaking the mold.
accept its not even a decent mid game. It feels like a "my first tech demo" kinda thing he mocks all the time@@kabanetheghoul
Some of the weapon animations I see are reminiscent of "Road to Vostok", as well as weapon attachment mechanisms.
This game is going to be good, just moving around and shooting in the game. It had that vibe, that X factor somehow.
Heavy Ready Or Not vibes from that.
The scope makes the aim worse as it has no magnification and it blocks the view, what were they thinking?
I respect every single game that has a hybrid sights
Looks fine I think could be something awesome when its finished
hE doesnt bash the industry, he provides an honest opinion and calls out bullshit. This is what AMERICANS should do with everything.
You can "fast crawl" in Squad as well.
U nailed it! nice vid, been waiting for a fun single player game. PVP is soo sweaty and cheaty now a days
You should look into stalker gamma if your looking for a fun single player game that also is pretty realistic.
@@the_fat_hans7755 I'm glad you reminded me, I forgot about that game, thanks!!
Skill issue
unrelated but this is what I would imagine an underhell remake to look like.
What else can you do to an fps lol
@@IvanSensei88The reload thing isn’t ground breaking or anything. I feel that you have your expectations way to high. BigFry and his team are already struggling making the game what it is.
There is a lot of hard work. crowd didnt realize that.
Did amyone else see that on of the bots that was shot ran away and left a blood trail super nice detail

I know that The Hunter: Call Of The Wild has a "Speed crawl". Although its still much slower than it is in this game
Tbf bigfry seems to call out devs who deserve to be called out for releasing cheap trash and low effort cashgrabs. If his game has actual passion then it's already a huge step up, although obviously not immune to criticism.
i grinded the killhouse a little bit and got a time of 17,46s
and well my impressions is that: this game feels very indie, like a low budget Ready or Not. The AI is passable, not bad but not good, the gunplay is 7/10 feels junky in a nice way, but the sights aint done well, and the effects of gunfire seems excessive. Its clearly a demo and features are missing. Have potential but not putting my hopes up on this
3:41 Squad has speed prone
But definitely has huge potential!
Did you mention that’s a demo?
One complaint I do have is that the game is way too over sharpened. I do not know why they turned the sharpening and grain to 11
why dose that sound like the usec voice line from escape from tarkov ? @ 2:50 or 2:51
Customization reminds me of Homefront The Revolution a little bit
thing is anyone can make a good demo if the game will actually be good is yet to be seen
The thing that makes it easier to see longer 😂
I want to see this succed, and i hate the industry as much as the next guy
But considering Harsh Doorstop and DrDisrespects game, you gotta see a pattern
Making games is hard, and most gamers dont know as much as they think they do, i hope he brakes the mold
Looks good tbh.. Hope he delivers on this game.
My initial critique based on this video alone is how terrible the ADS visibility is. The scopes are literally blocking your target. And I don't think I'll enjoy that experience. Hope for the best for this game tho.
I’m always craving a good single player fps on pc so I’m definitely checking this out
Yes, I'm waiting the game.
I don't get why people would CHOOSE to use shitty optics with no visibility like that first one.
Because tacticool brain rot, good ergonomics is COD
