    Eventide SplitEQ is a parametric EQ with 8-bands of precise musical filters.
    What’s new and different is Eventide’s powerful Structural Split engine which divides the incoming audio into separate Transient and Tonal streams that feed the 8 bands.
    This approach makes common EQ problems easy to solve-even in a complex mix.
    By applying EQ and panning to Transient and Tonal separately, you can fix many of the problems normally attacked using complex combinations of EQ, compression, transient designers, de-essers, multi-band compression, spatial processors, or dynamic EQ.
    Simplify and declutter your workflow, get better results, and create new sounds!

      I could see it being useful as well for bass, if it’s distorted or more in the synth bass territory. Seems like a good all around tool, I’d be interested to see where I found it most useful

      The new capabilities made possible by the split technology are rightfully getting attention but the fact is that the filters are world class and musical. In other words, you can put aside the enhanced capabilities and use it like you would any great sounding parametric EQ - for everything.

    I have this EQ.....it's amazing.....just started actually using it, as it took a bit of a learning curve, and now, after seeing your excellent video on it, I will use it more. I like your method, plus you aren't like you're a fire truck or train, just running through it as fast as you can! The manual is one of the better ones I have too. Too many of them were written by the TECHIES who "assume" too much. This manual is pretty straight-forward. Only Eventide product I have. I've been weaning away from WAVES, and have mostly Plugin Alliance stuff, mostly Bx products, as well as Izotope, AND Hornet plugins, under-rated and low cost plugins. I also just subscribed ! Good work!

    People are quick to say this plug-in is revolutionary-but the tonal vs transient eq concept has been around for a while. The Boz transgressor, wavesfactory quantum, spiff eq, Sonible entropy eq, the iZotope neutron transient designer to name a few. And even more transient designers that let you solo transient and tonal, which you can then place on duplicate tracks, and follow with an eq to achieve the same effect, just with separate tracks for your tonal and transient signals. Some of us have been doing that for years. However, while it isn’t a new concept, eventides split eq is definitely the best at what it does, in practically every way. CPU usage, overall stability, quality of the algorithms, ease of use and simple GUI, flexibility, overall sound quality… There’s absolutely an ton of value and awesome innovation in this plug-in. It’s just in the execution, not the concept.

    I downloaded and installed Split EQ with the intention of using it for a 30 day free trial, just to see if the hype I’d been hearing about it was true…
    Within the first 10 minutes of working with it, I was reaching for my credit card to buy it, and that’s something that rarely happens with me.
    Whether using it on the track level, the bus/group level, on the 2-Bus, or, even after the fact on a “finished” mix, Split EQ really is quite something, a true innovation in EQ processing.
    Bravo, Eventide!
    IMHO.

I have a bunch of eq’s i use depending on the material and end result im looking for. I use my izotope plugins for more surgical precision and some of the plugin alliance ssl emulations for warmth and overall shaping.

    I was a bit confused about this plugin, as I useSugar and other similar plugins. This is the best demo I've seen, thank you very much. There's been a lot of focus on M/S mixing recently, but that can really mess with a mono signal, you have to be very careful. I'd like to see more like this from you as you have a way with you. I mean should we even give a monkeys cuss about mono anymore anyway?

    • @SaraCarterSimplyMixing
      @SaraCarterSimplyMixing  2 роки тому +1

      Ah, now, don’t get me started on the whole mono debate! 🤣 Just think about all those Bluetooth speakers out there. Or devices that are stereo but have the speakers within a few inches of each other. Shopping malls, elevators, you never know where your music might be played one day! Always worth checking the mono mix IMO. I’m shocked when I hear top mixers not really caring about mono. Maybe it’s my radio background…😜

  • @angelobruschini4899

    I tried it for 15 mins (Guitarist) and bought it.... I love it for controlling the attack of the instrument, you could use a comp but that effects the tone in a way I don't like, it's really easy to place the sound in the mix.... Brilliant.
    BTW Great Video please do more.
    One thing I would like though is it's a bit too grey!! |It would be nice if the Gui allowed me to darken it a little?

    Could I achieve the same thing from the Split EQ with Fabfilter Pro Q3 (for the sustain) and Oeksound Spiff (for the transients)? I think the Split EQ is doing the same thing as what I would do with the other two, but I am not sure exactly (seeing that Spiff is dynamic and only either boost or cut, but not both). I really like what I could do with Spiff and Pro Q3 running together though.

    • @SaraCarterSimplyMixing
      @SaraCarterSimplyMixing  2 роки тому

      I've not used Spiff so I'm not sure it's main features, it might only control transients dynamically? If so, then the Pro Q3 is purely frequency adjustment and not sustain control. Think of sustain as everything left over if you took the transient away of a frequency, the rounder softer sound and that can be any frequency.
