Top 30 MOST DISAPPOINTING Games of All Time

- Dealing with a disappointing game can be difficult, especially when it has significant hype. It's even more disheartening when the title is a new entry in a favorite franchise or even an eagerly awaited sequel years in the making.
Nevertheless, some releases can and do underwhelm for several different reasons. Not enough development time, new features, crunch, lack of a proper vision, inexperience with the genre in question, removing features prevalent in the previous title, bugs, lack of polish - the list goes on. Some of these are beyond the developer's control; others are easily preventable but allowed to fester for whatever reason.
Here are our picks for the top 30 most disappointing games throughout the history of games. Some of them launched in a pretty dismal state but turned out well after several updates, while others just couldn't be salvaged no matter what.
This looks more like disappointing games of recent years than disappointing games of all time
That's every list on this channel 😅
They put the most recent games because marketing.
i think you are right, they should change the title to reflect this
zoomertastic
They definitely do that for video engagement lol
I don't care what anyone says. Days Gone is an amazing game and we deserve a sequel
Absolutely agree. Days Gone is a fantastic game.
Yeah 100% true , it doesn't matter what this kids think .
Days Gone and Resident Evil 6 are my fav. zombie games of all time .
Yeah, the video lost me at this point.
I don't care if everyone love that I hate it.
its just a boring fetch quest game. even your dead wife gives you fetch quests and the factions were all annoying and uninteresting. The best about the story are the flashbacks but the actual story is trash. The gameplay is nothing special either
@@ayushrock4745play dead rising 1 or dead island 2 instead
Downvoted for the disrespect given to Days Gone. That game is a masterpiece.
Agreed
Dunno if I’d call it a masterpiece but it was damn good.
@@douchenozzle77 masterpiece is a subjective term but it does (should) drive the point home
Definitely 👍🏻
I loved the game. The melee combat and shooting mechanics were excellent, as were the cinematics and voice acting. My second play through was less enjoyable however. Chasing gas got old and getting knocked off the bike by snipers was infuriating.
days gone was dope
If you're going to call a list "most disappointing games of all time" maybe look past the last few years.
Literally every one of their videos has comments like this one... I'm betting that this comment will be removed because I've commented several times on other videos about how poor their quality of content is.
They have 1.26 million subscribers right now and are _maybe_ averaging 15k views per video; that should tell anyone just looking at analytics all you need to know about this channel.
If you’ve only been gaming for 10 years, don’t make a video titled, ‘Most disappointing games OF ALL TIME’
what a dissapointing video

Days gone is one of the best Zombie games ever made
Yes but like he said the launch version had its issues.
@@nlaszg that's right
Not quite the best zombie game out there, but it was criminally underrated.
I agree 100%
@@nlaszg Yeah and I played it on launch, was incredible, did you play it on launch?
Days Gone was a great game that sold 8-9 million copies so definitely don’t agree with that. Gameplay, world, and enemies were great..
If mass effect andromeda went by other IP as a generic sci fi shooter it would have been a decent game but living under the shadow of its predecessors, it was just disappointing.
Starfield should be on the list. Since people were hyping it up as the next generational game
@Agmadaemon should be tho
You Really Are a Piece of Work GAMINGBOLT.
You actually put DAYS-GONE & RISE-OF-THE-RONIN On This List?!?!?!?!
Plus THE-ORDER-1886 & RE-3 Were Awesome But Short.
Anyways , My most Disappointing Game Of All Time Is MGS:PHANTOM-PAIN.
Since you're talking about launch I'm stunned cyberpunk 2077 isn't on this list
That's a significant omission. I thought the game was great once they fixed it, but yeah-MASSIVE disappointment at release.
And No Man's Sky.
I would like to vote this video to be the most disappointing disappointment video of all time.
A more appropriate title would be “games that could be considered to be somewhat underwhelming by some over the past two decades or so.” But I guess that just wouldn’t get as many clicks, eh?
I enjoyed every minute of days gone from my day one pre order to my 3rd play through, this video makes me want to play it again.
Why do we keep falling for these "Top XX greatest/worst/disappointing games OF ALL TIME"-lists? They throw one together every other week just to garner revenue and, like FIFA, just changes up the roster a bit.
Add timestamp please
or you could just watch the video from start to finish and enjoy it 👍
@@TheiAdz90 a very unnecessary suggestion
@@TheiAdz90 or I could just watch something Else and dont waste my time with 25 entrys that I dont care about
@@TheiAdz90 no
Lol
Rise of the ronin was no disapointing. People who played knews +or- what they are getting into it. I can agree with the graphic being really bad but the game per say was a blast.
Have you EVER played a game more than ten years old? You claim "OF ALL TIME," yet you don't seem aware that older games even exist
Mass effect Andromeda is actually a fun game if you aren't trying to go for the platinum throphy
Rise of the Ronin is so solid. Yes, the graphics are average but the combat is great. Tons of weapons, stances, and variety. They even upgraded the lock-on mechanic to work better than it did in Nioh 1 and 2.
Rise of the ronin is a gem 🤌🏾🤌🏾
Right they trying to drag it and it got a good score on psn store
um i am confused. how are some of these disappointing. once i saw mirrors edge on here i knew we were in trouble with this list.
Shenmue 3 released in 2019, not 2015.
Did you expect them to do their research?
Days gone 😮 what the F. One of the impressive and best game on ps4. The most disappointed game is Starfield. RIP Bethesda 😢
Gamebolt don't know what they're talking about
Starfield isnt on the list because it's Bethesda. No one really expected it to live up to the hype.
The list should be most disappointing games in the past 15 years. Not of all time!
You missed Gollum And The Day Before
Firstly Dayz Gone on PC was a fabulous post apocalyptic zombie survival experience for me. For me…way better and grittier than Dying Light 2.
Secondly…Mass Effect Andromeda…for me…wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. I enjoyed it and wanted more than I thought I would.
Would love for a sequel for both games I mentioned.
Risee of the Ronin is a really good samurai game, nowhere near a dissapointment. It even has a 8.5 user score on metacritic. It is my favorite Team Ninja game.
I feel like we could fill this list with 50 games just from the past few years. 😢
Also rage two never ended on a cliffhanger. Who the hell does the research on his games because they’re wrong
"...of all time".
What are you people like, 10?
Rise of the Ronin is disappointing?
Well, if it is disappointing then I guess all AAA games should strive to be one.
I mean it’s good, just ghost of Tsushima does it better
How quickly people forget about Cyberpunk 2077. This game launched broken, and unfinished too. Then took 3 years to fix it with features and that should have been there day one, and charged full price again just because they added a dlc. Nah,
Days Gone was excellent and deserved a sequel. I also had a lot of fun with Rage 2 and Mass Effect Andromeda. Titles more in line with hype and expectation vs. reception.
Where was Fallout 76 and No mans sky? Both got better over time but were the biggest let downs of their time
Rise of the Ronin isn't actually a bad experience. However, I can agree to voice acting I don't find the Open World to be that bad.
The combat is awesome 👌🏻
I love ROTR, it’s bad in many aspects but it’s fun and combats are good
It’s just that it’s probably a carbon copy knockoff of Ghost of Tsushima but less flair. Don’t get me wrong. The game is good but still one of Team Ninja’s weakest Soulslike games. Nioh 2 is infinitely better than Rise Of The Ronin.
@@KadeemG61 GOT is better in almost everything but for some reason I still like ROTR more, I struggled to go beyond 40h in GOT because I was bored, it’s not the case here. And as I don’t like souls-like with fire camps and enemy respawn philosophy, i think ROTR is a nice « in between » games with AC vibes and Nioh style combats and customization + variety of weapons. But it is very perfectible and I hope they will improve for the next game, and I would not recommend it for someone looking for a souls like experience.
Sorry but days gone is a masterpiece and i dont throw that word around anywhere near as much as most.
Agreed. Gamebolt is almost as bad as mr.boss. I'm gunna do a video of the worse gaming articles ever. Their website looks like a 10 year old designed the content
@@Red_Dead_Dad il be sure to check it out bud 👍
You cant be disappointed when tou have no expectations
Mirror's Edge Catalyst is criminally underrated
Literally replaying it right now, I love it lol.
Still disappointing and doesn't capture the magic of the original. Another game that went open world when it should've stayed linear.
@@dj.elitez7591 I don’t get the point you’re making. It’s completely linear if you just stick to the story, having the “open world” doesn’t bring down the quality of the game. The story is lackluster tho lol.
@@LuisMedrano-j9q The Open world structure did bring down the quality of the game actually because it wasn't needed and was bland. They could've put more effort into the level design back to back like the original. Yeah the story was not great either, first game had better story.
@@dj.elitez7591 I don’t know man, I loved the look the city and being able to explore it, or just having different trail runs set up from different players all over the world was so fucking cool to me. They had so much potential with the game.
After simping for fully priced single digit runtime games i really dont trust anything else this channel puts out.
How can you not have "The Last Of Us 2" on here...How? Theres NO Exuse to put "Days Gone" on here and "Rise of the Ronin" and it speaks volumes why a lot of the games on this list you don't say the truth in why you think it was bad or Backlashed to begin with, but "Suicide Squad" it Definitely Does Deserve to be on the list but not for the sole reason of micro transactions..You know why the Backlash! The Last of Us 2...was The worst Experience in a game I've ever Came across to date and I'm 50 years old So I've been around since the very first games ever came out and owned every system, There was no reward at the end of the game I didn't get any revenge at all! The world spoke out about it, Refunds were made everywhere on a Global scale. They made Lots and Lots of sales and then Refunds after Refunds trying to pander to a very minuscule Group of people with a Political Agenda. The game Has been Banned in UAE and Saudi Arabia and also Censored in Japan whats going on the Next video..Stellar Blade?
“The weakest amongst the remakes?” RE3 was amazing. This video is garbage lol.
To be fair the remakes are of stunning quality all the way back to RE: Remake from the Gamecube (not to mention the PC's tweaked HD version), 2, 3,4 are all absolute corkers too. They're going to have to do a Resident Evil Remake Remake at some point, bring into the over the shoulder perspective.
Rise of the Ronin is definitely getting a much better reception from players than from critics. It’s also seemingly selling better than expected especially in Japan.
Mass Effect Andromeda is not a bad game I have to disagree yes it did have it's issues but those got fixed 💀 especially when you mod it the game is awesome in First person mode
For me, it was Mass Effect 3 that killed the franchise. I bought 2 and 3 on release and was so disappointed in 3 that I never even tried Andromeda.
Andromeda is underrated, not as good as trilogy but also not as bad as people say
@@coreycasciano3255 Exactly this!
I think people need to give Andromeda another chance. I waited until they fixed the game and I had a good time. It's not bad or disappointing just different to what you'd expect from a Mass Effect game.
The characters are utterly forgettable compared to the lot we got in previous ME Titles, which severely weighed it down. I 100%'d that game with about 90+ hours, and to this day, I can barely remember half of the characters names. The only redeeming quality was the improvement to the combat system. IMO, anyways. A shame, because I was hyped as hell for it, as the ME Trilogy, and more specifically, ME2 is one of the greatest games of the last twenty-years.
Days Gone? Are you seriοus. And these are disappointing games of all time? And where is starfield?
Days Gone, The Callisto Protocol and RE3 are not disappointing games. Whiney terminally online gamers moaned about them and formed hate brigades just as they did with Starfield, absolutely determined to do anything to see it fail.
Rise of the Ronin is awesome I am sorry but disagree
Hmm, seems like 2019 was an unusually big year for flops and disappointments. There were 7 games on this list from just that year alone, which is over 1/5th of the entire list.
First, let me say I love these list videos. That said, I'm noticing that ALL of these games came out in the last 10-15 years. Did bad games not exist before 2010?
the title shouldve been "worst games of the last decade" feels like a lot of your content is nothing more than a quick google search list come on guys you can do better than this. Sorry to be harsh but I enjoy your channel a lot but the recent out put has been disappointing
All time is from basically the last 10 years…clickbait title. Shame on you.
Slow news day = LIST OF MEANINGLESS THINGS 😂
I was a heathen and play Mass Effect Andromeda first before the trilogy and I liked it 😅 yes I am aware I'm in the minority. Is it the best game I've ever played? No, but it wasn't the worst either
Gamebolt is either ignorant or is attention seekers. Days Gone is one of the best games I've ever played. The story, character development, game play and immersion are good enough to keep players coming back for more. Games have replay value (a statistic that game developers watch closely) and Days Gone is near the top. If glitches are your concern I have many videos showing you RDR2 glitches. Is RDR2 a bad game? That's why updates exist. You mention how sales have topped charts and there being high praise. What you're saying is those ppl don't know what they like. Everyone has a right to their opinion but yours is based on very little input. My message to the annoying voice narrating this video is get back to minecraft
This list is awesome, but ironic. It should be called, “Top 30 games that prove Game Critics are completely useless”. My favorite was Rise of Ronin, this games sits at a 76, but it is disappointing
Agree about "Game Critics are (sic) mostly - completely useless"
YIIK
Skull and Bones
Murdered: Soul Suspect
Daikatana
Final Fantasy 14.1
Battleborn
Anthem
Forspoken
Redfall
E.T. the Extraterrestrial
The order 1886? Sure. That had tons of hype and marketing as an early PS4 heavy hitter. Exo primal? Bio mutant? Cmon. No one will remember these games in 5 years. “Of all time?” Cmon.
seems like a hell of a lot of these titles were diapointing due to greed
Days Gone doesnt have a bland story.
It may be bland at the beginning but it becomes really interesting later on.
I found it way more mature and thrilling then Tlou 2.
Biomutant is fun. This list is redundant
I had a ton of fun with Biomutant.
Days gone is not a disappointing game, screw you guys 😅
I get angry when anyone says anything negative about days gone
'Days Gone' most disappointing of all time but not 'Starfield'... what?
Rise of the Ronin is an outstanding game.
Even if Mass Effect Andromeda was somewhat disappointing, it's still miles ahead of starfield
I'm surprised that Gotham Knights didn't make this list
the follow up to starfox is starlink. they tried to hide in a toys to life game
Good list. I will always be an apologist for Bio Mutant and Calisto Protocol though. I think both games are great and really misunderstood. Calisto Protocol is a banger once you wrap your head around it, and it doesn't out stay its welcome. I also think Resident Evil 3 remake gets too much backlash because of its game length. It's a great game that you can finish in 7 hours or less and it's terrific 100% of the way through. For me, the biggest disappointing games of all time were Resident Evil 6, Dead Space 3 and Alan Wake 2. Those three were massive turds in my opinion, coming on the heels of much better predecessors...
My personal most disappointing is Starfield. Thought that game was going to be the second coming is gaming but I couldn't even force myself to finish it. Hopefully the pull a CP2077 style turnaround
Where is the last of us 2?
Immortals of Aveum is a fantastic game. The graphics are beautiful and the gameplay fun.
Shame it's dogshit and currently free
Ya missed out Gotham knights
Am I the only person who liked Mass Effect: Andromeda? Perhaps I liked it because it was the first Mass Effect game I've played.
These games have no appeal.
Games like exoprimal and immortals of aveum no one was asking for or had any expectations for, dont se how they can be the most disappointing games of all time. And you putting resident evil 3 on this list makes it the most dissapointing list of all time.
I just feel as though Anthem should be here.....
I really enjoyed NFS 2015. They may not be objectively tremendous, but I really enjoy all NFS games. I like them better than the Forza and GT games. Those games are awesome but I get bored quickly w/ them.
I just can't agree with The Order 1886 being on this list. There were at the time, and still are now, games that have heavy qte's, some so much so that they constantly rely on them just to push the title forward at every chance. This is no different than many other 3rd-person cover shooters. The Order's production value in every way, the gameplay, and (mainly) the story were all handled with such care just as a lot of other first party Sony titles. For it to receive the hate that it has over the years is just insane to me
And leave Days Gone alone! That game is fantastic dammit 😤
It's not just the QTE's really, it was the basic bog standard cover shooting gameplay, lack of any real gameplay variety, loads of boring walking sections, terrible boss fights vs the werewolves and that the game just didn't take any advantage of it's interesting setting that made the game an overall disappointment.
Where s forswoken
Agreed. They picked on it enough its dead n buried
Cute. When you don’t like something you just say it’s woke
Not sure that was a disappointment, since everyone knew it was going to be trash before it came out. 😅
Where was the saints row reboot?
Anthem should be at #1
This guy is tripping because the order 1886 was and is an incredible game.
Because every game before 2010 was perfect.
I found the XIII remake disappointing, still it did remind me to buy the OG game on PC. I got it on Steam for a Quid.
If people had actually given days gone a chance instead of listening to the horrible weird reviews of the game they would have realized it was a pretty good game before it was to late 🤷🏽♂️
The exact same thing happened with Starfield, it's because of the exclusivity. It makes a certain group of gamers absolutely rabid with hate, determined to do almost anything to see it fail. It's quite sad really.
That would require people to have to think for themselves. Unfortunately, most people don’t like to do that. Days Gone is great. Especially, on the ps5.
While I accept SS:KTJL isn't a masterpiece by any metric, I's like to know what "micro transactions" have added to the concerns. I've played it since the "early access" and the only thing close to them I have seen is to buy Luthor Coins.
Also Days Gone is a damn good game.
Cities Skylines 2 should be on that list.
Where the HECK is Starfield???? It should be #1.
As far as I'm concerned RE3 is as it should if was any longer it would have become unnecessarily long
Borderlands three came out after rage 2 . Get your facts right if you want to be taken serious as a gaming channel
This is clearly one of those "popular" list 😂. Like honestly, a lot of these games are amazing!
Mass Effect 3 killed the series for me, not Andromeda.
I was hoping The 3rd Birthday get mentioned ... apparently not :|
Days Gone is a good game, didnt disappoint, and Callisto was not a groundbreaker but it wasnt bad either
09:45 Rainbow6 Extraction being on the list of “most disappointing games” only highlights the lack of research done for this video. To date it’s still outperforming the competition in the extraction genre. And, has had regular rotating challenges modes since launch. New mode was added this year even. Greedy UA-camrs all over the place.
Days Gone is an amazing game and it deserves a sequal.
days gone??? there's no way lol. its one of the best underrated game of all time
