- Of over 12 million skateboarders in the United States, it's estimated that less than a quarter are female. This fact doesn’t faze the members of the Pink Helmet Posse, a trio of six-year-old girls who have as much fun shredding on their skateboards as they do dressing up in tutus. In this short film from Kristelle Laroche and Ben Mullinkosson, we meet the gnarly girls in pink proving that skateboarding isn’t just for the boys.

This is so cute. I really want to see them go professional as they grow up!
My daughter just started skateboarding yesterday is in LOVE and these girls are all that she wants to be!
She went from battling pediatric cancer to falling in love with skateboarding and these girls encourage her to keep going!
such a beautifully filmed and put together video. u can really see the girls personalities shining through! i hope to see them in the x games
Heavy 'Noodle' vibe from that one kid.. someone teach her the bass.
And so it's said, I'm in my 40's, a man, and did heavy labor most of my life. When I see a bee, I do a lot more screaming than they did.
First off, great film. Hope I can remember to keep them in mind and see if they make it into skating video games 10-15 years down the line, that would be cool to watch.
Secondly, ain't it crazy how so many (mostly male) commenters get frustrated with this video. This and the one about kids skating in rural South Africa.
Let's look at ourselves, analyze our comments. Why is this making us uncomfortable? Why do we have to put these girls down, or say racist comments in the kids from South Africa video? Why? Why are some of us even criticizing the production values of this film, and are we pro critics that comment on many more videos that don't deal with little girls following their dreams to criticize production values?
Why do we males have to come off so petty?
Amazing when I have daughter I would not mind if she skated. Or my son skateboarding. It would be fun to have kids who skate. Future goals.
Could everyone chill and just enjoy the video. National Geographic put their time into this, and all you do is just watch and complain behind a screen. So chill.
New York Times made this years ago. National Geographic just tore pages!
Ok, those kids are just simply awesome whatever this video is about.
R.I.P. natgeo, it was a good run.
What does this mean?
3:32 Great, now even skateboarding has a fucking gender-quota.
lol @ the bee scene
this is so cute I love it
My social studies teacher posted this for an assignment, we all thought it was connected to our test
And we still don’t know if this is connected 💀😂
suddenly, high school and these girls are skating and smoking in a park
The boys already look like girls with that long hair.
Cool NG I Like it yay
0:41 lol me at that age haha
4:55 me rockin my day
Dude. The New York Times posted the EXACT SAME VIDEO!! There is no difference between the two videos. Copyright
You guys are way better than me
adorable man...
Shred on!
Careful. You're gonna trigger the masculinists.
looks like the flat earthers are still mad about the last video...sorry flat earth, girls can be something besides homemakers...
Girls can't be a Natural biological Father.............
National Geographic just ripped this off New York Times! Wtf?!
What's the song at 5:00?
I don't get what pink had to do with girls, I had pink griptape on multiple boards?
Why do they have to be Pink? Why not Green,Red,or Purple?
HCN 27.0253g/mol because its a girly color ;)
+Roelovsky Who decided that?
HCN 27.0253g/mol
You gonna play the stupid card? Pink has always been associated with girls while blue with boys... whether you like it or not.
+Roelovsky What?Who the fuck said so?
+Roelovsky Literally no...before WW2, pink was considered a masculine and boyish color, but when Hitler decided to put pink triangles on gay people during the holocaust it was rebranded as feminine.
The title is kinda weird. It's like saying wow these human beings skateboarding with human beings. JUST SAY THESE YOUNG LADIES LIKE SKATEBOARDING ( like really young but good af )
الثقافة والفنون الثقافة
Me too, anything you can do I can do better, ect...
co cool
Where am I?
Honestly Nat Geo we all know skater girls exist, basically every sort of activity or hobby will obviously have girls involved. What I want to see content wise is something that is new like new discoveries or something involving actual science that can deepen our understanding of our world. The video itself was actually quite well done but it would be something i would rather see on GoPros channel, in fact if it was posted on GoPros channel it would have been better received with that type of audience.
Very cool but I think people are making to big of a deal about this. I get it there young girls but if girls want to skate there going to skate girls can do anything guys can do its 2017 girls skated in the 60s 70s 80s 90s
I am sorry but if you are afraid of a bee you should stop skating.
5:16 Okay that was pretty funny, watch that if you think this video is some SJW propaganda. This is just an entertaining video about a few girls and boys who skate.
whatamilookinat
What is this crap? Thumbs down for social engineering.............
You are triggered that girls can skateboard lol
