This game has meant a lot to me throughout my life, it kept me positive while in a dark place in my childhood, kept me positive while I was recovering from a snapped ankle at the start of Covid, and after finding the Speedrunning history video randomly through recommended, I’ve now been introduced to an entire community of people that love this game as much as I do. Congrats on your wr, and I’m excited to see where people manage to take this game going forward
I love how Peach just kind of spontaneously appears whenever she’s needed for plot reasons but besides that she’s still asleep under that tree in the Overthere stair forever.

The following trick may not be useful in any speed run, but if you beat the pit of 100 trials you can get across Francis’s bridge more quickly without building it. Use Peach’s floating ability both ways, stomping to maintain height. I’ve actually done it!
Yeah! So thats called an FLC (Fleep Ledge Cancel) if we use fleep while on a ledge and fall off at the same time it cancels the animation so its as if you're in the 2D state while flipping back to 2D, and during that short window we can hold up to open the door to the painting room.

Yes, the recording is sped up, it ain’t much , but I can see that the dialogues are just WAY to fast, and some other things like the line animations, the timer is at 1x speed tho. I wouldn’t have counted it as an expert of the game, I mean I thought I was the only one who knew the glitch in line land 1-2, however it does only work on a Japanese game (JPN) the 1-3 glitch was alr I mean you didn’t have to do it that way, you coulda just used Thoreau and flip at the same time, you would get a speed boost (not permanent) , in a combination with pressing the 2 button (the jump button) you should have been able to glitch inside the “ending of chapter” box. Yeah and that’s all for me have a good day!
I played the first 2 games of the series and when I started this one I dropped it at like 3 hours in. I guess the game isn't for me but I like seeing people here in the comments saying this was one of the best Wii games. Nice run man, hope to see another record like this soon.
Did you try going through the pit of 100 trials after turning the fish bowl into the space helmet? I will when I get the chance. Although I’ll hit a save block so I can try again and again.

Fights 17 and 20 are the only ones that are skippable, the rest don't have opened doors. There is a way to skip the rest of them but the setup time for the glitch takes longer than just killing them.

You can but pit is slower for any% since dashell only saves 5-10 minutes, but takes 45 minutes to get.

Why does the glitch only work for gold bars and not other items
It works with other items, but the gold bar is the only item that you can throw at any time
