Recommend you first build rock, pebble, stick and multiple log holders, then have Kelvin fill them.

thats what i did, after i watched a couple of videos. i found a spot not far from the spot on this video. then i used kelvin to do most of the gathering. 6 log holders. i filled the rock and stick holders myself, then went to the printer. picked up rope on the way. got back and set kelvin to fish, made the drying rack. dropped a bunch of trees, then started and finished a cabin.
face away from where you want to drop the tree, chop till stamina is half way then go on the other side of the tree and chop so it drops where you want it. tree falls faster that way
warning! stay away from golf course at night, unless you have the shotgun and a lot of ammo. mutants will swarm you

You don’t have to always go to your backpack either you can also just assign a key while hovering over the thing you wanna quick equip

Try building a semi-circular barrier along a riverbank, enemies can’t swim and you can easily collect logs from upstream

For the tarp tent thing; you technically only need one corner picked up with a stick but you can do all four corners of you like.
Thanks for this, I had figured out some of it, but it's kinda unintuitive to learn from scratch so it was good to see that I had understood it right.

Mutants can use doors now... have you found a way to keep them out of the base? The defensive wall, they come through door. Might aswell not have a wall at all lmao.

@@04AMofficial Then you need to watch out for Kevin as he's currently prone to chop your tree house when he receives order to gather logs.
My strat is like the Víetnamise did become one with the trees or get the high ground
Build on a shoreline, no door just swim around the wall and cut the top of the logs so they can't climb the wall working for me so far, the mutha fukers tried me and were destroying my drying racks, they no longer have access to my drying racks and don't forget to set traps their cheap and effective, the shoreline next to the raft with the pistol is perfect meds spawn at the radio with the dead merc easy start/aka cannon mode

You can give items in your inventory numbers and equip with that number
Pro tip: Don't throw away your rotten meats, if you cook them over the fire it wont damage you at all (not sure if this will work on hard mode or custom)
Edit: This is probably not supposed to be in the game so expect the devs to fix it soon.. or not

i got a spawn in the middle of the snow mountain, havent done anything yet and i think im fucked
I've been playing since it came out and not once have I seen my Kalvin chop a tree. He will only pick up logs I've chopped. If I haven't chopped any logs he will nod to say he will get logs then he just sits around or builds random fires.
Thats strange, he does chop trees for me. Try saving and reloading your world. Maybe he's bugged? He prefers to pick up logs over chopping trees so if you are always chopping, he will probably just pck them up. Do something else and he's going to chop as well!
something i cant get to work is the door with defensive wall please do a tut
The second I loaded in, I asked Calvin to go collect logs. He cut down the closest tree, and it fell on me, killing me. Needless to say, I alt f4'd.
I Went in blind and got shit scared when i saw some crawling guy scream around Kelvin being the smartass he is looked at me and pointed at it since i didnt know how to heal the thing captured me.

I play together with my friend, and for some reason he has no book. Does the emergency pack contain different things for different players?
It should be the same for everyone, pressing B doesn't bring it up for him?
I have started over about 8 times trying to get a different start spot, I always get on the snowy mountain, same spot. its weird.
I had that too, restarting the game did the trick for me, weird but worked
my kelvin doesnt seem to want to get logs. hell get rocks and stones but not logs
I built at the exact same spot as you (great spot for food indeed) but got attacked right away... I couldnt even finish my 2x3 base that cannibals were hitting it and destroyed it.
If its anything like the last game, theres mutant patrols all around the closer you are to the center the more chances a patrol will stop by to say hi.
Seems like bad luck. I didnt have them around much while after winter they started showing up much more frequently! I'll work on better locations video soon!

You can hotkey items. Open your inventory, hover over the item and press a number you desire on your keyboard.

Is this for PC only? I only have a ps5 but even if it's available for that I guess the inventory management and stuff is probably pretty annoying and not as quick and smooth as one would prefer.
And another question... Is this game very scary? I'm scared super easily 😅 but I really would want to try a survival game this looks so super fun and exciting

This game is SUPER realistic, like real life, so it can be very complicated
On day 5 literally 8-9 guys showed up which is very hard to deal with solo
Day 1 5 guys jumped me as I cooked by the fire

Wondering if anyone knows how to make a defensive wall door. In the building manual it shows a way to do so but I have not been able to get it working
The work around I have found, build a rope bridge over your defensive wall, on the outside have a climbing rope up to the rope bridge, ramp on the inside of your fort

Is the game as unrealistic as 1 on hard? Played 1 on hard with friends and while it was fun I was still annoyed at times that I need to hit some basic enemy without Armor 20x with a sword while he can 2 shot me with his fists somehow
Seemed like we get way better modern weapons this time but I was wondering if they reduce your melee damage as much as in 1 to make it artificially hard again
Like you seen at the start, you can customise your difficulty. For example lower enemy health and armour , but keep damage recieved high.
Katana is dogshit anyway. If youre talking realism katanas dont penetrate armour irl

From what I've experienced no, who knows over very long periods of time but I doubt it
If you leave it on long enough it'll look spoiled but as soon as you eat or pick it up it goes back to cooked, not sure if it's a bug or not

I had more success respawning at another location when I rebooted the game. Sometimes it felt like I got at the same place a 100 times while it should be 'random'
Does anyone else have problems with blueberries? They do literally nothing for me no matter how many I eat

Me... restarting the game about 6 times and always started at the same spot up in the mountain >.
Try restarting the game, did it for me. I restarted at 1 point like 10 times in a row, while after the reboot I instantly got a new location
I used Kelvin once. I told him to clear the area. Decided to cook some raw meat while he did. Kelvin dropped a tree on me.
If you turn food and water off…you are SOFT
I know, thats why I explained that setting as it seems to be OFF by default on Normal 0.o?!
Why even play a survival game at that point
The first thing i did to the cannibals is rob them, so I may have been overly hostile.
Well, you have to survive on the island so not a bad idea either if you got some good stuff from them :D

been playing for a couple of hours now, and already dont know whats the point of the game, like why build a base, it doesnt protect you from the mobs, you almost looking to protect your base from the mobs, and why need a base at all, a tent is good for saving and sleep and a campfire for food, its not that theres much needed for that base at all, like a craft table? or an oven?, or a anvil to craft weapons? I mostly like games like this, but don,t know with this one, and the mobs come to destroy your base even if your not there, makes it even more annoying, and respawn in the see or in a base full of mobs to die instantly again is not that great also, many flaws and not much to do,... what am i missing here?

Of course there is! Grow seeds, dry snacks an have a safe place to spend the night. Probably the best place to start with when attempting to survive on an island ^^

@@BGrader there's gotta be a way to counter this. I think the devs wanted to shift the focus of base building to the late game
@@04AMofficial My Problem is that the base is pretty much undefendable. By the time you made a decent base the next Mutant will just rip it right apart. I think early on exploring is much more crucial. Get weapons, do animal homicide, find the laboratories.
From my experience the devs really didn't want us to just sit down at one spot for too long.

Well, we all have different ideas when playing a Survival game, mine is 95% about building, crafting and survival in general, while I only care 5% about the 'Storyline' (isn't that was survival games are for? XD)
