Also, I don't want to talk about Moyou London. They broke my heart, and I can't believe they didn't even TELL US they were discontinuing their stamping plates. For shameeeeeeeeeee 🤬

I agree about MoYou London. I thought they were so high quality and had very interesting designs. Can't believe they're not going to sell plates any more.
You did great! I am a firm believer that when stamping plates and tools are on sale, they do not count towards no buys. Seriously $2-$3 stamping plates? The what's up beauty semi-annual sales are way too good to pass up!

I feel the exact same way and it is really hard to not buy things. But then I regret it and the things I will by never end. So I am seriously trying so hard not to buy things, and to convince myself that a nail polish isn’t one of a kind.
you've got this! I find what helps is putting things on a list, and if I haven't thought about it in the next x amount of time, then I didn't want it that badly
Every time i try not to polish, i end up buying plates or stuff to make polish. 😂

My personal leave buyout allowed me to place my first Mooncat order. I chose three polishes: Flight of the Monarchs, Sand Viper and Shroomdom.

Something I've really taken to heart is this point that NerdLovesNails makes...there will always be another polish that will eventually come around that will either dupe or be really similar to a polish you pass up on...I'm paraphrasing, but this is pretty much the gist of what she means. With this being said...it's made it a lot easier for me to low/no buy. I've been buying polishes non stop since February...considering I don't want to own 500 bottles of nail polish I decided to limit myself to a plastic shoe bin for each season and one for base and top coats and glitter smoothing toppers. I may eventually do one for holiday polishes..jury is still out on that...but it's made it easier for me to really stop and consider whether or not I actually want a certain polish....like last month I realized that I couldn't live without Elbe's "Cure For Humanity' from LBOH, so I ordered it and I know that I'll enjoy it and won't pass over it like I am some of the polishes I purchased and am now currently feeling guilty about. lol I also seriously need to get better with my application and I want to learn how to stamp. I actually won the Maniology Ultimate Nail Care kit for June...I'm really not that artistic so I'd pretty much talked myself out of stamping, but considering I got all this cool stuff including five stamping plates and polish, I now have no excuse. Thanks to everyone's comments about low/no buy :) Today, I'm wearing Sassy Sauce "On a dark, cold night". I topped it with a matte finish...it's gorgeous. I'm about to do a 4th of July mani. I'm Canadian, but I'm a really bad Canadian because I totally forgot that it was Canada Day yesterday. lol I didn't even accidentally wear anything red to try to make up for how unpatriotic I am...sighs*...maybe next year...I live in the US so hopefully my 4th mani will make up for it. lol
I got into indie polish last year and exploded my collection from 5 polishes to near 50. This year I'm limiting myself to 12 polishes - one per month. I only do my nails about once a week so I only get through 52 manicures a year, and I'd hate to go a whole year without wearing a polish I own. I don't want to store polish, I want to wear it on my nails!

love the idea of limiting yourself to a shoe box so smart! because nail polish takes up sooooo much space lol that way your collection grows at a much smaller rate!
@@WoWLinry exactly...i sort of went a bit crazy when I first started buying polishes...it was like a frenzy combined with an irrational fear of missing out. lol But then I really had to question myself...my motivation...and this made me realize my need to establish realistic expectations for this new hobby of mine. Figuring out I didn't want hundreds of bottles of polish combined with what available storage I had on hand made this a simple solution for me. :)

I used to be really into nail polish a few years ago (2017ish), then realized I had all the colors I liked lol. Now I just have a box of nail polish. This year I started buying things but trying not to overdo it . I bought stickers (didn’t work), 2 stamping polishes, and 1 top/basecoat. I kinda have been eyeing a milky pink polish because I don’t have this color and I want to be a fancy lady too lol. Maybe I can be a fancy lady with red instead lol. Had also considered getting more plates but couldn’t find one I liked. This year trying to fight with makeup no buy. Good luck on your no buy
I got some plates on discount from both Moyou London (American site) and Whats Up Beauty. I think my favorite mani in June was Light My Fire by Beaux Reves with black stamping with a new Arabesque themed plate.
I survived my no buy in June, but considering my rules, so did you 😅 because I only count nail polish, I got a few stamping plates and a lot of glitters and pigments (mainly for a different hobby which i bought way too much for this month). I feel what you say about the dopamine so much, I clearly have an online shopping problem 😪
congrats on surviving your no buy! I find letting things sit in my cart for a few days helps, If I haven't thought about it then I must have not truly wanted it
All the stamping plates! 🤩 My no buy/ low buy has been a totally fail for May/June which is typical for this time of year because bright, glowy neons get me 🤣 I also found a couple sales for items on my wishlist. Heading in to July hopeful! 🤞🏼

I did not do so well 😂😅 it started with PPU in June, then HHC. And I was like THAT’S IT…but then I saw Ethereal was restocking Spirited Away collection. (I was so sad I missed it last year. And then I saw Glam Polish was doing a sale on some older releases so I picked up ones I’ve been wanting for over a year and some newer ones. Then Mooncat released the PPG and I felt I owed it to my childhood self. Yeah I fell hard and fast down that slippery slope. Like all the brands were just coming for my wallet 😅 I have not started off this month any better 😞 shame bell 🔔

I grabbed some plates from What's up Beauty and I was able to get the Moyou Queen plate. Plates or a couple bucks? Absolutely. MoYou has committed a betrayal! So yeah I have a lot of plates coming my way LOL.

Thanks for sharing info about your ad revenue, very cool that it can go quite a ways in covering your polish budget! In June I got the Polished for Days/Pahlish FTLOP box. I don't know anything about Animal Crossing, but I couldn't resist the glowy aqua one. Also picked up Blossom from the Vernal Equinox collection while I was there. Later I got two Colores de Carol glitter crellies from someone's destash, never tried that formula before but they look super cute and one of them has stars ⭐😊 And finally, I found out that Orly was having a buy two get one free sale on their Breathable line, so I asked the chat bot if that included the Melting Point collection, and it responded "Absolutely!" So I put the three cool-toned shades from that collection in my cart, went to check out, entered the Breathable discount code, and it said the code would not apply. So I got bummed, but reached out to actual human customer service and supplied my chat bot conversation as proof, and a couple business days later they wrote back and said no the sale was not supposed to include Melting Point, but they gave me the deal anyway! Score! It never hurts to reach out to customer service, you might luck out. I think in early June I also got the Essie smooth-e base coat because I believe I figured out (via reddit research) the reason why my nail tips peel off so much is because of polyvinyl butyral in my base coats. Apparently this ingredient is so strongly binding that it will actually lift up cells of the nail when you remove it (if you have weaker nails like mine). So now I have to be vigilant about checking ingredients. So far the Essie is working well, nails are growing back and healing. I'm going to try my first PPU order because Rewind seems fun, but after that I'll probably take a shopping break until Black Friday. I need to use what I have, lots of fun options now! 💅

No, I didn't name her that, she was already named by the rescue we adopted her from and we just loved her name so we kept it. Someday I will have an eggs and bacon collar for her and it would be awesome to match my mani to it, lol. She already has a fried egg name tag on her collar, because egg on Toast. I couldn't help myself, lol.

Yeah after july I'm going on a cut throat no buy. I fell down the indie nail polish rabbit hole in july of last year and the amount of polishes I've accumulated in the last year is honestly ridiculous lol. I love them all or I wouldn't have bought them but I can't keep on with this path because frankly I don't have the space and I want to enjoy what I already have. When I say cut throat what I mean by that is I will be unfollowing all indie brands on every spcial media I'm on and I will stop watching any youtube channels that do swatch release videos that may tempt me. I think I'll eventually be able to watch them again but I need to do this in the beginning to stop myself from buying anything lol.
