Just got into a match against a VIP. I'd say, its pretty balance. I only had 2 tier 3 towers and my opponent had 2 maxed out towers(One of them being tack shooter)(Obviously). Close game for sure.
Edit: This was patched and apparently not intentional You do NOT have to discard chests. If you just click into another section or on the back arrow on the top left, you can wait until you have the battle points. That being said, I still suggest discarding Battle Chests because they're the only ones that don't give a temporary multiplier, and you HAVE to open slot 1 chest so it's comparitively just a waste.
for discarding chests you can just click the back arrow instead of discard, wait until you can afford the chest buy the chest then you can store as many as you want.
Heres a tip: DONT open chests until you need too. So that you can save battle points while discarding the lowlife basic chests. You can open a basic chest if a great or mighty chest is on the line.
My theory is that NK is forcing slow progression in order to lower the amount of endgame players, because if they barely managed servers on btd6 co-op, imagine on battles 2 that has two players simultaneously defending and attacking each other
Seriously though, I dont think nk thought about the tier 5s a lot; their btd6 costs are not viable in a battles setting, only a few are and that's all you'll be seeing really. Kinda sucks, I just want to use my xxxl trap in game and yoink big blon man :(

Yeah that sucks. I run wizard tack buccaneer and I’m at 38 trophies and I’m free to play. I progressed pretty quickly but I made the mistake of not staying back in yellow and kept going up. Cant go back now cuz I’m kinda far up .
At least now i can get a T5 in a reasonable time frame as f2p, since the update dropped yesterday i got my sniper to 4-4-2 and 20k xp towards elite sniper, boomer to 4-2-3 and super to dark knight

I discard all basic cheast and only open one when I get a bigger one, except now I have 500 Battle Points and keep getting more. VIP for the win I guess.
There’s always so many people telling others to just get good, but the people that are saying that just got the last slice of pizza and everyone else is left with greasy cardboard. In other words, it’s hard to beat someone that has better material than you and you cannot get that material unless you win, and you cannot win unless you have that material. So you are kind of stuck.
I found a vip with churchill in the white bloon arena (speedran it so fast I forgot its name) and boy had upgrades I didnt even know existed, but I somehow won by sending 2 boosted bfbs, 2 moabs and a sh*t ton of blacks
I don't get why people complain about the XP system. VIPs get a lot of advantages but you can still beat them with careful planning and spotting you can still beat them. Daily Rewards and Store Rewards are obviously the worst rewarding systems ever, they need a buff. I would like Universal and Conversion XP and granular matchmaking of course. Battles 2 is playable, but still needs some updates.
I know one way you can get XP: if your at first Arena you Don't lose trofy So you can lose at End of game and you will get 0 trofy but you will get XP Not much but beter than nothing. If I'm wrong with someting soory my New Player at bloons 2.
The exp is laughable to say the least. To put it in better perspective, you could max every tower in btd battles within a week. Meanwhile, in btdb2... Well, is there even anyone who's got them all? This game... It's not made for new players.
honestly xp is not too bad. people that complain about xp never played more than 20 matches. you can get tier 4 of everything on a tower with only about ten hours of gameplay, non vip
haha yes totally fair having to win 20 games with a 222 tower before being able to even test to see if it's worth it or not. Not mentioning how your trophies are the same no matter what, so if you climbed a lot with only 3 towers, good luck leveling up any other ones. Yes, great game design, 10/10 progression system

The only critique you could give to the xp system as it is currently is that it doesn`t include universal xp. Because yes, having to farm three towers at a time from 222 to 444 at least is kinda boring. universal xp will speed up progression in every tower and could also lead to interesting mechanics added like mastery. Upping and downing the xp rates is up to the devs and devs alone to decide. NK has impeccable record with these kinds of things, give them a month or two and no one will complain.

If you don't press discard or open chest and just go to battle or another menu you can just stack up chests without ever discarding them
