By far, the best AMV I've seen for Princess Mononoke. You've nailed the very essence of both the movie and song so masterfully, bringing such emotional depth forward in ways I can only dream of accomplishing. I can't stop watching it over and over! Very, very well done!
wow! such an in depth comment! I love when my viewers leave comments like that. well to explain, this video was more of a vent for me. i feel especially close to Ashitaka's character so editing this was coming from a deeper, more secure part of my heart. so to say I truly captured the essence means SOOO much to me. thank you!

i just read the describtion and i am proud of you that you did not give up cause a hero never does! be proud of all the things you already have accomplished and never give up on youself , it is you who have to believe in yourself the most! Dont let anyone tell you anything else and believe in your dreams. Like the sing that i am listening to lately: Thats why i will quote it here: " Face everything and Rise " my friend because after the haviest storms lies the most beautiful sunshine. Embrace the pain cause those who do not feel it do not live. ( well i kinda went dark here but still ) it is important to have these momments to overcome them and become stronger each time. I myself had a lot of stuff to deal wuth but i muet say that although i sometimes have sleepless nights because of it i still am greatfull to have had them and to have faced my fears and obercome them. Be Strong Courageous and believe in Yourself. Become the person you wanna be cause there is noone who can hold you back ;)

I always see my weakness as being nothing but that - weakness; but then there are those like you who turn that weakness into a story of strength and inspiration. Thank you so so very much.
You must have heard this song one day and knew. Just, you know, knew how great it was gonna be for this movie. I don't know-but it is amazing how much it synchronizes. YOU DID THIS. You should be so proud

I've only recently been introduced to Studio Ghibli, but I am fascinated by these films. So far, I've watched Princess Mononoke twice and I caught something that I don't think I noticed before. In the film, San is described as a princess of beasts, someone immortal yet also human, or essentially the closest thing to a "human god". Because of this, we see that San is faster than we would expect (I mean, she can literally run side by side with wolves), stronger, and tougher (she literally got shot in the face and still lived...). On top of that, when she interacted with the white demon boar, she screamed out "I don't want to become a demon!", and instead of being blighted/cursed like Ashitaka, she started to become a demon herself, all of which implies that San really has transcended beyond humanity and into some form of godhood. This then poses the question: how does one *become* a god? Obviously, even the Emperor of the country had not been granted godhood, as he's looking for immortality, so what are the qualifications for it? Does one have to be adopted by a god, like San? Or are there some other qualifications, such as a love of nature? Having thought about it, I realized that the probable answer is the forest spirit. After all, he's the god of life and death, right? So that means he can choose when to take life away and when to give it back, and for how long one continues to live. Knowing this, it's probably safe to assume that Ashitaka had been chosen to be a god as well; after all, he protects the forest, is pure in heart, but most of all, he was given life back from the forest spirit. On top of that, watching the film, there are other more subtle things that point to this being the case, such as the fact that Ashitaka starts to understand what the wolves and wild animals are saying, he suddenly becomes fast enough to run like San, he can be hit by poisoned arrows and knives and still be mobile, and even when he's thrown unconscious into the water he doesn't drown. But I think the most interesting evidence of all is the curse that Ashitaka suffers from. From the first time that the forest spirit healed him, it's clear that the forest spirit either couldn't or wouldn't lift the curse itself, so why does Ashitaka suddenly appear almost curseless in the last scene? Shouldn't it have been even worse? And though it seems like the forest spirit lifted it after all, why did the spirit lift the curse/blight completely from San but not from Ashitaka, if that were the case? I think this all boils down to the fact that gods can't really be cursed/blighted, and since Ashitaka is slowly becoming a god, that means that his curse is slowly going to fade. Of course, this is all just theory and speculation, but it's the only thing that makes sense to me. After all, Ashitaka should probably have died about a dozen different times, but didn't, which either points to a change in heart by the forest spirit or the possibility that Ashitaka became a forest god himself.
***** Omg...that quote you left is so powerful and true. Miyazaki is truly a wonderful man - one full of wisdom and love I wish the world would take by example. I'm so very honored by your words given that you are an editor I highly respect and admire! Thank you so sooo very much! Ashitaka means a lot to me so I am deeply flattered to know I have done justice by making a perfect tribute to him!
the colouring was gorgeous, the flow momentous, overall an extraordinary edit. You know my feelings, love, about your so called weakness. That which makes us human is not only the ability to hate indiscriminately, but also the ability to forgive indiscriminately.
