Just Beautiful. I am new to this and I wanted to know if it matters witch way we rotate the disk, I know to rotate same direction from beginning to end but does it matter if I rotate left all the time? or right all the time?
The necklaces are 31 inches from end to end. We include a kumihimo disk and bobbins in the kits, though we also offer a less expensive version of each kit which doesn't include the disk, bobbins, or glue. We call these versions of the kits Refills.
sil vous plait pouvais vous me donner la grosseur du fils pour utilisation rocaille 8/0 quelle taille embouts dois je prendre diamètre 4 ou 6 ? merci pour votre réponse
Hi there, what size and kind of beads are they? I got my kit but wanted to know what is the size and brand of the beads :) love making it. Took me 2 days hahahahah
Hi I started this necklace months ago and was using a screen shot of the bead order which I can't find now. Please help as I'm halfway through the necklace 😢
Hi! If you follow this link, in the details, there is a link to click on for the PDF. In the PDF, it will list out the bead order for this necklace. beadaholique.com/products/refill-long-beaded-kumihimo-necklace-teal-gold-exclusive-beadaholique-jewelry-kit
This video has a different necklace in its photo to open. Is there any way to get the instructions for the one that is one color on one side and blends to different color on the other side?
Hi Judith, the UA-cam photo can be a little tricky to make out, what you're seeing is two of the necklaces presented stacked on top of each other. If you want that exact layered look you'll want to buy both of those kits, the Rainbow Purple & Rose Gold, and the Teal & Gold. I think the idea it's inspired you with is a good one though, there's no reason both sides of the necklace have to be the same color. To make that it'd be quite simple, you'd just bead one color, follow the gradated pattern we lay out in this video to transition into the gold, then once you're done beading your gold segment and ready to gradate again you'd switch to a third color and alternate that with the gold. Here are links to both the kits in the photo if you'd like a closer look: beadaholique.com/products/long-beaded-kumihimo-necklace-teal-gold-exclusive-beadaholique-jewelry-kit beadaholique.com/products/long-beaded-kumihimo-necklace-rainbow-purple-rose-gold-exclusive-beadaholique-jewelry-kit
I can confirm that we have instructions available for download, but we also ship to Israel. Here is a link: beadaholique.com/search?type=product&q=kumihimo+long
Hello friends, I have a problem in step 2 of scattering the beads. Dispersion is not like in the picture. Can we get a detailed explanation for this stage? Many thanks in advance
My beads do not end up scattered ,they line up together. how do you get them scattered.on the side if you load uo the beads all the same then they come out all together in a glob.
JUDY MCCALL ...I know mine came together not scattered.....I think we missed a part where to get them in order(bobbin#) when doing the first bead part...?
They are not at this time, but we are working on bringing them back in stock! You should see them again in the coming weeks. Here is a link to the listings: beadaholique.com/search?type=product&q=long%20kumihimo&_=pf&pf_t_product_type=0-Product-Type%3AKit
Yes, kumihimo is a versatile technique that will work with a variety of cord and bead sizes. Most of our larger kumi projects have been un-beaded works like this one using 1mm satin cords: beadaholique.com/collections/beading-projects/products/golden-queen-kumihimo-bracelet But you could even bead that piece with large enough breads and the technique would be essentially unchanged.
I want to kindly note that this necklace does not use pearls. I can confirm it uses Toho 8/0 round seed beads. It uses approximately 12 grams of the accent color seed beads and 30 grams of the secondary color. Thanks for watching.
thank you...as Italian I wrote pearls (here we mean the same as beads: we use the words little pearls for beads) instead of beads but you have understand the same. thank you for the information.
We can confirm these kits do not require any needles. The thread will easily pass through the beads used in the kit. However, if you would like to use a needle to get the beads on the strands, a size 10 or 12 needle will work. Thanks for watching!
Hi Lucy, I'm not sure if Google is translating your question correctly but I think you're asking how many blue beads to string before starting the part of the necklace with the alternating blue and gold pattern? The answer there is 40 blue beads per thread.
Yes we can easily deliver to most of Europe. You can see a list of the countries we ship to here: www.beadaholique.com/support-center/help-shipping We add countries often so if you'd like something shipped to a country not on the list reach out to our customer service team via email or our on-site chat and we may be able to help.
Study the art of knotting, esp Chinese and Japanese knotting, and then knot the bare braids together. What is so hard about that? For this long size, you don't need a clasp. However, it looks much better with a clasp, and you can slip on a pendant if you have a clasp.
Hi Veronica, I'm sorry you had a bad experience with this kit. Please reach out to our customer service team, we'd like to help make this right. You can email service@beadaholique.com or use the live chat at the bottom of our homepage to reach us directly, Mondays - Fridays, 9AM - 5PM PST
It's a very pretty necklace but your colour combinations are all with gold beads except for one choice with black and silver. Gold tone is so antiquated.
Excellent DIY tutorial, thank you! Will be buying supplies. I did not understand why thread needed to be 7 ft long each when at least 1 ft on each bobbin was wasted. Also, why did the start/ end braiding need to be so long when you cut it off? It should be exactly the size of the clasp, no longer. By cutting it off, you weakened the entire necklace. It now hangs only on the glue, and god help you if that glue every comes off. I find this a very sloppy finish. It should never have been cut off. The braiding and knotting on both ends is vital to the beading remaining in place and never loosening up over time. It should last 100 yrs or more for all that work.
Hi, I am glad you liked the tutorial, kumihimo is such a fun jewelry making technique. For the extra foot of thread that is left in the bobbin, there are really two reasons for it. One, everyone's tension varies slightly which means that for some people, there will be less thread left and we try to always be cautious of this. This necklace is a lot of work, fun, but a lot of braiding and it would be unfortunate to go to all that trouble only to run out of thread at the end. The second reason is that having a little extra thread in the bobbin helps to anchor the thread and the beads in place and keep them in the bobbin. If there was just a few inches left, then the bobbin would not be able to hold it. For your second question about how the necklace is finished, I am having just a little bit of a hard time understanding your suggestion of how to finish it as opposed to doing extra braiding and cutting it off. Are you suggesting that the cords should be knotted after the beaded braid and then the glue is placed on the knot and that knot is put into the clasp? Just a little more information would be a big help. We always love to hear suggestions of other ways to do things, we all learn from each other. Thanks!
This is very pretty. Is there a reason for not stringing all the beads at the beginning? And if you did, would you still need the numbered tape?
The reason is that they don't stay in the bobbins. There are too many beads to wrap in the bobbin.
Doing it in segments helps also with not being confused about the pattern. Divide and conquer.
Ordered my kit! Can't wait to try it.
from where did u ordered the kit

Thank you very much! What is the length of such necklace? And are Kumihimo disk and bobbins included in the kit?

Regrettably, instructions are only available with purchase of the kit. Thanks for watching our video.
please tell me, for the gradient of the order of the beads on every single thread or is there a difference?
The order is different on each thread, if you buy a kit on the beadaholique website, the instructions show you the bead order for the graduation.

Beadaholique the
how do you make a claspless neckllace
Unfortunately for Kumihimo I have not seen it done to make a claspless necklace. The clasp seen here is very sleek to give that endless appearance.
Study the art of knotting, esp Chinese and Japanese knotting, and then knot the bare braids together. What is so hard about that? For this long size, you don't need a clasp. However, it looks much better with a clasp, and you can slip on a pendant if you have a clasp.

Madj Reyes, feel the same. I don't like gold, never did. But it does look nice, guess you can just buy the beads separate like I will
