You just need to have a little idea about what they have been through back in 2017 in terms of how they were witchhunted by the media, by the other fandoms, the hate articles on Pann, the bad results they got with Blingbling, the number of fans they lost because of lack of domestic promotions and their very long hiatus, how their company only saw them as a Japan touring machine and cash cows or how they were not allowed to cry. You can watch their Repackage interview or read the last Billboards aticle to realize this is not about a breakup. That's said, thank you.

It's a wall of luggage because everyone has to carry some kind of emotional luggage with him (gets visualised beautifully in a HIMYM episode). He seems to be carrying that much luggage that he's no longer able to carry it with him, and is blocking him, represented by the wall.
Edit: The plastic bottle sceen is also kind of distorting as in for example in stilllives the objects are often ramping up from left to right. Here it is from right to left. The normal flow of looking from left to right gets interrupted here, although that effect is not as strong, as the higher placed bottles are more in the background.
And the plastic bottles are there as physical objects but they're empty on the inside.

That is their debut date on the license plate
The date on the licence plate is in fact their debut dute. This solidifys the fact that the mv and lyrics are not simply about a girl or a break up but it tells the story behind their debut and the struggles they faced while becoming and being ikon. Like every idol, ikon has to always show their 'positive' side to the public so when fans ask them if they're okay thats all they can say. Not only are they trying to convince us that they're okay but themselves as well. It's really heart breaking tbh P.s you should DEFINITELY carry on with this new segment PD!!

What hurt iKON? A lot actually, from when they lost at WIN then they had to undergo again at MIX AND MATCH, been called flop and yG's fail group... that's why when they won Song of the Year every iKONICS cried knowing their story background 😂
The comment section of the MV is full of people opening up regarding their depression because the phrase 'I'M OKAY' is mostly used by them and I am proud that iKON make songs that will be relate

I actually regret knowing this group late. I wish I had known them sooner. After I knew about them I learnt about their hardships and their pure talent, I just cant even stop loving them now. Like this group is so real and so overflowing with talent that I would safely say that I will be an iKONIC for a very long time.

I’ve been waiting for this since yesterday!! ❤️😩 try listening to it 3 times straight & you won’t be able to stop 😂 I get the “old mv” vibe when I watch it though. And since it’s somewhat like a “series” I get the whole from happy (love scenario), to mad (killing me), to sad (goodbye road), to super sad (i’m ok) feeling from ikon’s album. i hope their next comeback will be a bit more hype and happy but no complaints 🙅🏻♀️ I LOVE THEM

iKON is amazing, talented and so underrated 😊 “I’m OK” completes the break up circle starting from “Love Scenario” to “Killing Me” and then “Goodbye Road” before well, “I’m OK”. The first part of “I’m OK” is about life and second part is about the break up. I love them from day one from when they were known as “team B” ❤️ thank you for reacting to iKON!
this is my favorite comeback and song/mv out of their four (three in 2018). the lyrics really hit hard and although the off key background inst is jarring at first, it has such an emotional tone that catches you on the second listen. the mv is beautifully ominous and I love the symbolism. my new favorite song omg!
This break down was insane. Little details have always fascinated me so as you went through to discuss the camera angles and even how far B.I had to be from the explosion, I just sat in awe.

After thinking about it, this song could have more than a love-breakup meaning, like, it represents all the people that are facing difficulties in their life and try to use the word "I´m ok" as a wall, like a lie trying to let people know you really not ok... for example all the mental sick people like the ones who suffered depression who isn´t able to talk it out

really enjoying this concept of you breaking down mvs and analysing the cinematography! with your channel, reacttothek analysing and reviewing the music and structure, and dkdktv translating and explaining the lyrics themselves we can rly appreciate these songs to a new level!!
Ok, first, yes, I like this. I find it really interesting when ppl who actualy work with or truly know about something give their insight and share their thoughts on things we enjoy in a different way. So I loved the break-down of the MV.
Second, the song is so relatable, it touches so many things in so many ways, ppl feel it hit home in some way or another and you can see how it prompts so many to open up and share their own take on it. If you check the coment section of the MV, you'll see so many ppl sharing their issues and experiences, and then comforting each other. It really is a crazy, amazing, and sad thing, too see so many out there needing to let out but not doing it for a different array of reasons. But this song gave way to it, to conversation or, at the very least, to unwind and speak out. It's also a bit sad to think of the head space they were when writing this (and other songs), because sometimes you can't be so sure how much was inspired by whatever they saw or read (in Hanbin's case), and how much is actually his own and the members' feelings speaking. How much of it is actually a vehicle to convey their own emotions, I personally don't feel this as a break up song, at all.
Finally, I appreaciate a lot how you always keep honest to your opinion in your reactions, but at the same time remain sensible and kind. Or maybe it's just the way I percieve it, but I like that a lot :) So I'm really happy that past your first impression of the boys, they worked their way to make you want to actually know them. That's great!
If they included a drop and followed the trend of the last 5years they would have great rankings on the charts but I like they keep it clean delivering the vibe and lyrics fitting to each other.

I always wait for your reaction videos as it really sets apart from a fans view and its very educational too. And to know you're into iKON now, i'm over the moon. Their discography for the NEW KIDS SERIES is amazing. Hanbin (B.I) wrote all of this from 2-3 years ago imagine what he can compose and produce now. Their b-side tracks are also amazing such as Everything, Hug etc from the Return album.

This is one of my favorite songs. I don’t know why but I love the melody and of course the lyrics. I saw iKON in Austin and they are incredibly so talented!
I personally can’t wait to see more videos of you breaking down the visual aspects of the music videos.
When I watch/react to music videos (like anyone else) I do notice the obvious/in-your-face visuals like lighting, colours, props they used, etc in the music video, but I appreciate you going into it, because then it brings me a new found level of love for that particular music video.
But I also enjoy watching you break down the music video since I have a some-what interest in cinematography because of my younger sister who is hella deep into it.
She wants a career in that direction, and being the only girl sibling who’s close to her age and sharing a room with her all her life, we always rant about our interests and what we’ve seen/watched back and forth to each other. So she’ll sometimes go really deep into ranting/talking about something she learnt in class or things she noticed in a movie she watched that she found really cool.
It’s gotten to the point that now even I’ll sub-consciously notice if something I’m watching has the blue and orange effect 😂😂😂
But yea, as I said; I can’t wait to see more of these videos 😁💕

I love the visual breakdown! :) Yes, 150915 is their debut date. I'm glad you have come to like iKON. I hope you can check more videos about their past including WIN, Mix n Match, and more on B.I(Hanbin)'s background so you can get more ideas on how he works as a leader, songwriter, composer, we'll basically almost all of it in producing their albums. I'd say he is a perfectionist and of course a hardworking artist too. He based his writings mostly on movies, poems that he has read, and anything related to iKONICS. Please check out their background so you can relate more on what they are putting out to the public through their albums :)

Oh, so it's not just me who noticed the similar vibes from Day 6 "Shoot Me" and iKON "I'M OK" :D I'm really mesmerized and deeply touched by both songs, they're both depressing but healing at the same time, and HQ music and cinematographic wise, these both groups are so good, thanks to them for producing some legendary songs that speak to people's hearts both as band and idol group %) Hope to see more from both Day6 and iKON like that.
I think for the luggage breakdown scene (?), it’s possible that it wasn’t him that broke it down in the story line but rather it collapsed itself, symbolising he can no longer hold in his trapped emotions from his memories, and the scene where he is running towards the “luggage cube” is symbolising him wanting to show one of the trapped emotions or relieve himself by letting memories go but linking back my other idea, he ends up breaking down emotionally.

I've loved your commentaries before, for the insights you provide into why and how a visual effect has such an impact on viewers, so I am most definitely in favor of this more in-depth approach. I took a couple film courses in undergrad and grad school (one on Chinese films, actually), but obviously they didn't touch much on the how and why...and the professors didn't have your experience and understanding. So please, continue!

The song has a really simple message as being based on "A person’s mindset of wanting to cry more when being told, ‘Don’t cry’ and feeling more discomfort when being asked, ‘Are you ok?’" this is not only about love but life as a whole where at one point we all gonna feels like nobody will understand us and giving that pity look only hurting us even more..B.I and Bobby truly a genius one

The breakdown of the visual aspects is a great segment, especially since I'm a photographer and interested in film making too and love to catch some inspiration from kpop mvs!
This is actually their story. This is the song that best describes their struggles and hardships from way before they debuted up to 2017. If you dig back to iKON's journey, even if maybe you are not a fan, you can tell iKON have one of the most painful and hard journey. This song is maybe the most intimate song they released about themselves. While most of their songs are made for fans,this one is actually more about iKON. That's maybe the reason why they chose this as their closing song to wrap up NK series and also why they chose not to promote it.
