aew is outting on some decent shows. but they need more star power. theyre dropping below 800,000 viewers because noone knwos who these wrestlers are.. they should pay cmpunk whatever he wants, get enzo n cass.. and whoever else to bring some light to shine on them. #isaidit
otherwise theyre going to be another impact, roh, or a small time wrestling outfit
I admire that Dwayne The Rock Johnson praises this young man so much. That wasnt his first time tweeting about Cody. What Enzo Amore said in an interview about Cody is true as well

While Jericho had nothing to do with the actual creation of AEW, there is still some truth in him saying he made it bigger. I was interested in AEW beforehand for sure but the moment I heard Chris Jericho is on board is the moment I made the decision to actually start following the company and I'm sure Jericho did that to many others as well, even people who are not that familiar with any of the indy scene, Jericho brought mainstream attention to AEW.

Same here. I knew all about AEW and was following it a little bit in terms of the news but just dint have the time to watch another pro wrestling product but once Jericho went over..I just had to!

I'd say no on Jericho for two reasons:
1) He's doing it as a heel.
2) And I disagree with Cody -- Jericho as first champion was something AEW needed.

This is one of the bizarre things about wrestling, which can be confusing even to fans: Dustin is out there keeping kayfabe and selling his beatdown from a fortnight ago. But then Cody is talking about the ringleader of said beatdown in a professional non-kayfabe way.

Cm punk should come to AEW
There is a difference between talking and cutting a promo in my mind. The pipebomb was less cutting a promo and more talking. Sure it generated buzz and has been remembered fondly since but it's remembered because it was super against the norm for WWE(and said by a fantastic promo) not because it was particularly well crafted. A promo gets you more emotionally involved with the character rather then just strictly interested in the match. It's why I don't think the regard for the pipebomb promo is really worth it.

Still a killer promo years later. Hope he comes back from his injury with even more passion in WWE this year. They NEED a star like Cody right now.

If the entire bottom and most of the middle of the card weren't joke acts aew would be hands down the best promotion
Jericho may not deserve credit for AEW, but Cody selling out to go back to WWE after all that certainly puts it in perspective.
If we wanna keep wrestling kayfabed then these shows need to stop peeling back the layers. His promo doesnt feel organic now. Just when i start loving wrestling again a video like this comes up and takes me rigjt ouf of it.
