Royal Huisman's Phi first day of sea trials

- PHI, which left the shipyard of Royal Huisman in Vollenhove last Tuesday, had a first day of sea trials today. We followed the 58.5m/ 192ft yacht in rainy weather from the moment she left Huisfit in Amsterdam this morning untill she arrived on the North Sea this afternoon. Footage by The Nautical Lady & Dutch Yachting.

Phi is going to end up being as iconic and classic as the Palmer Johnson Supersports yacht Khalilah in the 500 ton super yacht category. The yacht is currently held up by authorities having been arrested

This yacht is a triumph in design and style.
This owner should get the Cor D Rover to design a hillside villa to complement this boat.
He did get Cor D rover to design a 34m support vessel for this yacht with the same design language

As modern yachts go she is probably a good looking vessel. A classic yacht new or old will alawys be a classic yacht. How will this one stack up in a couple of decades? Maybe I am just jealous.

If this were mine, the only thing I would change is to remove the tender from the front deck.
I think that was just for the trials, as this beast has a sister "shadow" ship that carries a car, boat, toys and fuel. Too bad Phi has been 'arrested' in a UK port since shortly after this was filmed.

Not even one source on the internet mentions the displacement (weight) of this yacht ! Every one mentions the gross tonnage (volume) which is 499 tonnes , anybody knows the actual weight of this yacht ?
That's one quick radar. Now hear me out, how about a huge rotor instead. It would be nigh on impossibe to lift the entire vessel out of the water, but i've heard a few inches goes a long way. How does increased speed, and lower fuel costs sound? The rotor could also function as a cooling fan on those hot summer days in the med.
I'm currently seeking work, and for a very generous salary, ideas like the one above could help Royal Huisman reach the skies!

This is the most beautiful yacht Ive seen. My only two complaints 1. I would not want to be at the helm constantly staring at the dingy. 2. While I love the new bow/nose design, it is going to be a water spray nightmare.

Een stukje bravado vakwerk van Royal Huisman, dat is zeker. Ik zie de detailing. Het ontwerp? Apart, misschien ook wel tijdloos. Je moet er aan wennen. Ik zou niet graag op haar zitten op de Biscaya met wind en tij in de rug. Maar ok, een gemiddelde eigenaar vaart hooguit een 150uur op jaar basis maar dat is een puur hypothetische kwestie.
Would’ve been better if they had the radar dome and tower swept back like Bravo Eugenia
