    Thank God for syndicated TV and the old Tonight Show being part of it. Johnny's humor is as fresh today as it was 40 to 50 years ago. Its hard for me to believe he's already been gone 15 years.... And his last Tonight Show was 28 years ago! Every time I catch one of these Carson Classics, its like he's still alive. I loved Johnny, Ed, Doc, the guest, and animals he had on the show. The only one still living is Doc Severinsen. He's 93. As far as I'm concerned Johnny Carson was the King of Late Night.... and none have come close since he stepped down in May of 1992.

      @@marilynanthony4727 Really, you took the time to point out a spelling error? Clicking away on my tiny cell screen with my large thumbs distracted by a barking dog, grandkids, the phone and doorbell, flooding, tornados, hurricanes and whatever else may distract me, spell check is able to sometime select words for us. I have 2 college degrees and run a manufacturing business I started 28 years ago that employees 74 people and won a city wide spelling bee. What exactly is the point of your post? BTW, as the first word in a sentence "ad" should be capitalized. But since "ad not add" is a mere sentence fragment, you have far more grammatical issues than inadvertently adding a "d". How ironic that your spell check efforts are obscured by your own grammatical failures.

    • @slother932
      @slother932 3 роки тому +5

      @@anonymoussources8803 If it was such a meaningless post why would you bother to reply? Using “add” instead of “ad” is a common mistake, so perhaps you should have thanked @Marilyn Anthony for trying to educate you. By the way, your company “employs” 74 people and that spelling bee you won was “city-wide”. I only have one college degree though, so I’m confused as to whether it was you who won the spelling bee, or your 28 year-old manufacturing business. Good day, sir!

    Johnny really mangled that one but good, every time he tried to correct himself he just made it worse. Laughing loudly before the intro was finished, even Ed busted a gut. Great Tonight Show moment. Miss ya, Johnny.

      @ madebutante. If you want to see Johnny Carson laughing really hard, just watch the greatest moment in the history of. "The Tonight Show" from November of 1979 the day before Thanksgiving when Doc Severinson was substituting for Ed McMahon because McMahon was in NYC to host the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and Severinson had Carson in stitches talking about how Doc was not crazy about Thanksgiving. Classic, classic Tonight Show moment that went on for about 6 minutes!

    My mother loved Johnny Carson! One time I was helping mother in the garden, and we were playing a game while pulling weeds. We were each naming famous people who we would like to meet, date and marry. I named Elvis, she named Sinatra, I named Michael Landon, then she paused and said
    "I was gonna say Johnny Carson, but I wouldn't want to date him or
    marry him. But I would love to screw w/him.".
    Dad walked out just in time to hear her comment. He actually went and slept in the guest room!
    True Story.🤣🙃

    Craig Tennis was a "talent coordinator" on the Tonight Show for many years. In his book "Johnny Tonight" he tells a story about where Ed was promoting a new sponsor, a dog food company. While Ed was doing the spiel, Johnny crawled out on all fours and started licking Ed's hand and begging. Tennis says that the sponsor, rather than being offended, thought it was great and wanted to know if Johnny would do that every time they promoted the product on the show.
