I'll have another spur gear technique on January 20th. There are many different ways to go about creating different types of gears. I intend to show a variety of different methods. These first two videos showed the suggested techniques from the PTC Knowledge Base.
@@CADPLMGuy That's exactly it, thank you! Second question, I know there are righthand helical gears and lefthand helical gears. How would you edit the gear so it goes in the other direction?
Can’t tell just from the error message. Probably a typo in the Relation. Ask your resident subject matter expert or open a ticket with PTC Tech Support.
I would if I knew how. I might make a regular bevel gear video after reverse engineering a bevel gear that I have. But that's going to take a lot of work and research, so don't hold your breath. I've got a full-time job and a kid on top of running this channel.
Very good video, although there are a few minor mistakes here and there... Also no idea how you did the "regenerate" magic trick after the first equation-driven line. That doesn't happen for me at all, and I don't understand why it should happen in the first place.
Well, this video is 35 minutes long, pretty much shot in one take, and provided to the public for free. Yeah, there are a few minor mistakes. If someone else wants to step up and make a mistake-free video, there’s nothing stopping them. As far as the regenerate magic trick, I made this video over 4.5 years ago and don’t even remember it.
This time a completely different sight :)
Thank you Dave

plz provide the relations in the description next time
at the very beginning at about 00:46, how do you get the planes to be labeled like that? I've been trying to find the setting
Do you mean turning on the Datum Tag Display from the View tab?

@@CADPLMGuy Never mind, I figured it out!
I hope you mirrored the part about the vertical midplane
@@CADPLMGuy I changed the bevel angle parameter to -20 instead of 20 but your method makes more sense.
Fantastic video as always!!
Sir thank you so much for th this and how did you get these all relation calculations for this gear, can you please clear this doubt? Thank you.
The link is in the description. This is a suggested technique from the PTC Knowledge Base.
Hi, I guess the correct expression for gamma should be GAMMA = (2 * THICKNESS * TAN(BEVEL_ANGLE)/(2 * PITCH_RADIUS)) * 180/PI
In sweep sketch relations " I am getting error message- probable error in function evaluation

Hi sir ,
Can you do a video about designing a spiral bevel gear with relations

Hi , sir. I have found an easy way in the nx cad for bevel gear modelling . ( gc tool kits) .
Then I suggest you use that. Having performed a benchmark a few years ago, I know that will costs a considerable amount of money.

@@CADPLMGuy thanks for the effort, the video is genuinely helpful. I'll try figuring out the stuff that didnt work for me.
The link to the article in the PTC Knowledge Base is in the description.
@@CADPLMGuy Thanks for the suggestion. For some reason, PTC does not allow me to access the article, even though I have an account with them. Oh well.
@@CADPLMGuy Do you work with other programs as well? Working with Creo is hell for me haha.
Very very thank you!
Thanks for watching!
NIce video, but why do u first copy a tooth an then pattern it? Why not just pattern?
I recommend you give it a shot and see if that works. (It doesn’t. If it had, that’s what I would have done.)
After sweep teeth not touching other face completely
