If you are not receiving text message notifications sound for new messages in Samsung device then what you do, open "settings". Go to "sounds and vibrations". Tap on "sound mode" and make sure that you have selected sound and not vibrate or mute. Go back. Now go to this option "Notification sounds" and if you have use two SIM cards then you can select that SIM card for which the notification sound is not coming and then from here make sure that you have not selected this option "silent". Select any other notification sound beside that. Now let's go back to this sounds and vibrations and go to this option "volume" and there is an option here "Notifications". So, make sure that this volume is maximum and also the system sound is also maximum. Now what you do is open this Notification center again pull it down to open it fully and if you have enabled this bluetooth option like this what you do is, disable this bluetooth option. If you have connected your device to the bluetooth speaker then you might not hear the notification sound from your device. Also the other thing what you have to check here is, swipe this screen to the left and if you have activated Do not disturb mode, make sure to deactivate it. If you have activated do not disturb mode then you will not receive notification sound for incoming messages. Now again what you will do here is, you will go to this settings icon. We will go to "Apps". We will scroll down and we will look for messages application. Open it. Go to this notification and make sure that this option "Show notifications" is enabled. Also go to this option "General notifications" and make sure that this notification style is sound and pop up and go to this "sound" and make sure it is selected to "Default notification sound" and not silent and also make sure to enable this option "New messages". So, once you do it, you will get notification sound when you get a new message. Now the other scenario is if you are not receiving the notification sound for messages coming from a particular contact only then what you do, open the message application and suppose if this is the contact from which you can not hear the notification sound then what you do is check here on the right. If you see there is a bell icon with a slash that means you have activated do not disturb mode for this particular contact. What happens is from this contact you will not hear the notification sound. So, what you do, tap and hold this contact and then tap on this notification. Now you can see that the notification bell with the slash mark, the icon is disappeared. That means you will be able to hear the notification sound again. So, do all of these and hopefully you will receive notification sound for new messages in your android device.

The last fix mentioned worked for me. Disabled (normal sound and vibration) needs to be selected to re enable the sound for the individual contact selected. Thank you. 💛

Deactivating the do not disturb mode worked for me. Weird though as I only have it set for a specific time on Sunday only! But it kept me from getting all notification sounds/alerts. Thx.
All my text messages had a bell with slash going through it. My do not disturb is off. I can get all other sounds except for text. Anyone?

This is not the issue. By itself after some time notification sound is not received without touching or changing or installing anythşng new. There is a bug on samsung. Something disables it itself. Any clue?
None of these worked for me. It worked before. It worked yesterday. Vibration works Hope I didn't mess things up doing the Network reset but that didn't work either. It's frustrating because my notification sounds show a list of sounds I can choose from. I see no SIM option. Yesterday they played different tones. Today, none of them give me sound. Ringtone works. Notification sound does not? What is going on? When I choose 'signal' I can hear a faint beep/beep. Hardily auditable. Can't hear any of the others? All volumes are up! Any ideas?

Had the same same problem until I deleted the App Zedge. Now I get notifications sounds again
@@Khmao562 yes seems like when I added zedge app my sounds stop working I deleted it so how did you get the sounds to work again
@@shanicesmith7582 once I deleted Zedge I went back to notification sounds and switched it back to default and it was good

I have the Samsung S22 Ultra. I am using the Samsung Messages App. For some unknown reason to me, When I send a text, I get an audio sound along with the notice, "Delivered." I do not want an audio sound when I send text messages. I only want the visual notice. "delivered." How do I stop the audio sound after I send the text message? I enjoy your videos.

If you no longer are getting the 'ding' sound when a text or gmail is sent to you, try this:
Press and hold the volume control button on the side of your Samsung.
Look for the 'down arrow/carat' and tap it.
You should now see some slider adjusters. Are they adjusted all the way down like mine somehow were?
