I love how many wrestlers, British wrestlers in particular, are doing Nigel McGuinness’ moves. His career ended too early, but his legacy lives on in the next generation.
@marc rodney Why would people who grew up in the 2000’s be inspired by people who wrestled in the 80’s and 90’s? There’s nothing wrong with Dynamite Kid and British Bulldog, but they are several generations removed at this point. I’m sure there’s some young guys out there who’ve gone out of their way to watch old matched featuring the British Bulldogs. But the British guys this generation grew up on is guys like Nigel, Doug Williams, Jonny Storm, Jody Fleisch, Paul Burchill, etc.
@marc rodney Why are you being a weirdo? I never said people don’t study old wrestlers (in fact I even pointed out some go out of their way to do so). I questioned why wrestlers who grew up in the 2000’s would have watched them, as they aren’t their contemporary wrestlers. Going back and watching them after the fact is one thing (I’ve done so myself), but that will never compare to the guys you grew up on in terms of who you idolize and got inspired by. You whining about people not being inspired by the guys YOU grew up on is a perfect example of that. If you don’t like modern wrestling, just don’t watch and go watch the stuff you DO enjoy. And stop being a weirdo.
@marc rodney No I didn’t. I said “why” would they be inspired by them they grew up in the 2000’s, and qualified that there would of course be exceptions that. Those are two distinctly different statements. You just read what you wanted to read, because you wanted an excuse to whine about modern wrestling. Stop being intentionally daft. Just go watch what you like and cry less online.
@marc rodney not what he said at all. Can you read or do you have problems understanding what you read? What he is saying makes perfect sense. I grew up on 80s and 90s wrestling even tho i have watched wrestling before that i was mostly inspired by guys i grew up watching. I worked some east coast indys for a couple years in my early 20s. So i get what he was saying and it was a good point. You were just trying to twist his statement around so you could act superior but you just came off stupid.
That's the plan, but you know how things are in game development (or maybe you don't, I dunno). Better to be delayed for as long as necessary than come out a busted mess like WWE 2K20. They _need_ to get it right on the first try. I remember when ECW had a couple of games come out back in the Playstation era, and they were uniformly terrible.
Everyone in aew who has one finisher: I like having one finisher it's pretty nice Everyone else in aew who doesn't have one finisher: I don't need one finisher
I love how Bryan doesn't have one undisputed finisher, he just fucks you up in whatever way he feels like on that day. A lot of wrestlers should have multiple ways to finish the opponent, or like a super big/painful move could end a match, not just a "finisher". Most of these guys finishers are pretty meh looking tbh.
I always thought more and more matches should end without the use of a wrestler's signature finisher in order to make it feel more realistic and when the finisher is brought out then it feels like a bigger deal.

The announcer should have just said this is probably Sting's 1st time doing a double Scorpion Deathlock.
@marc rodney Yes, but back when he was on a singles run and during his time with Chuck he used a cobra clutch slam called the “one and only” part of his “One Billy Gunn” gimmick. He still uses it today as a secondary finisher. Bit like Christian and the Spear or Brian Cage and F5
@marc rodney I think Miro should be the guy to beat Hangman not Danielson. I would love Danielson vs Punk with DB taking Danny Garcia, Lee Moriarty, and Wheeler Yuta under his wing saying Punk has only buried younger roster, kinda like a Nexus type group with DB as its leader.
