These must be important matters that prevent Iga from participating in the China Open 2024. And in such moments we should give Iga full support. Iga is a beautiful creature and, apart from sports, like all of us, she has to deal with the realities and challenges of everyday life. Yet all of humanity, as the Old Book writes, carries a heavy burden on its shoulders. So let's ensure some sympathy and support for Iga, which Iga may really need right now. Great emotions will come to us soon because Iga is a Lionheart and she never gives up easily.

I think Iga is fed up with the pressure that is put on her every time she steps out on the court. She needs a break, especially in terms of the mental aspect. She'll come back stronger, she's a warrior!

Iga's decision may be related to the flood in Poland? Maybe someone from her extended family or close ones lives in flooded areas? Two days ago she posted a video in which she invited to 1000 in China, so she was planning to fly, so maybe something unexpected really did come up. Of course, there are already rumors that there will be changes. I don't believe it, because you don't change the coach during one of the best seasons, and 2024 is her best second season, after that in 2022, even if she doesn't win anything by the end of the year, it will remain that way.
There are already rumors that the girl is ending the tennis or problems related to her father, etc., etc. If I were to lean towards a theory, it would be that she has had enough of this season to the point that if she withdrew from Wuhan giving the same reason and only played the Finals, I wouldn't be surprised at all. People write different things but something personal could have happened that forced her to change her mind within two days, and athletes also have normal, family problems.

@@michax77 I continue to hear the coaching changes also and imo that would not be a good decision but rumors start for a reason as there’s possibly truth to some of them, in terms of the personal reasons no one really knows we just wish her back as soon as possible when she’s ready, and our support and best wishes to all those in Poland affected ❤️ 🇵🇱

Sabalenka is the real No.1 regardless what the ranking will say. The same scenario happened in Men's tennis in 1989 when Becker won 2 grand slams and 3 other tournaments and Lendl won 1 grand slam and with 9 other titles. But majority of the commentators, tennis followers and ITF agreed that Becker was the player of the year. I don't like the robotic like movement of Swiatek.

For Iga, the most important thing this season was winning a medal at the Olympics, gold was not possible, but the first medal, bronze, is a success for Poland. And generally speaking, looking at this season, the best are Świątek and Sabalenka, I can't choose who has a better season. The grand slams are more important, and Sabalenka is better in slams, but Iga reigns in the 1000. And this is Iga's second best season after the season in 2022 (4x1000, RG, 1x500 - UC). And it is no coincidence that the tennis players who won medals at the Olympics performed averagely at the US Open. And the best form are the tennis players who did not go to the Olympics and dropped out quickly like Pegula. Saba and Pegula played much fewer matches, had injuries, so they had time to rest, train, and that is why they play so well. Saba had a weaker season after AO, Iga played every tournament until the end from Doha to RG, so it is logical that now the Pole is in a decline in form.
You can't be in form all season, and Iga is more stable, because even in average form she makes semi-finals, out of eight defeats five are semi-finals. And that is why I can't choose which one is better, for me both are number one, and if Rybakina had maintained her form at the beginning of the season throughout the season, she would have been number one (another thing is allergies and illnesses, and it seems to me that Rybakina's season will always look like this, that in the spring she will beat everyone, and from Wimbledon to the Finals disappear, it was similar last year). Saba said in the spring part of the season that Iga and Rybakina are the best now. Iga is now reaping the effects of how many matches she has played this season and the lost semi-final of the Olympic Games, where she lost her self-confidence, and since she said that this loss broke her heart, she felt like she was in mourning, she has to work through this semi-final, which will not happen anytime soon, because it is the most painful defeat in her career, which she does not hide. But the important thing is that she managed to get up and won the match for bronze, which is also thanks to the fans, how much support she received from them after the semi-final of the IO, for which she thanked at the ceremony, that it was thanks to the fans that she got up.

Lot of jealousy out there for Emma not for Osaka though. Osaka taking wildcards takes them away form lesser players
