I was an extra in this movie. I was a junior at UT Austin but looked young enough at the time to pass as an audience member go figure. I remember we filmed the final scene in March 2008 I think, or maybe February inside of Hogg Auditorium (google for pics). It's right off The Drag in downtown Austin which used to be a cool place with trendy stores but now sucks with all these corporate chains taking over. But I digress. Anyway, we were there from like 6 am to 8 pm filming the same scene over and over, jumping up and down when they yelled "action!" I've never been so sick of hearing one song in my life. But I got to see Vanessa Hudgens, Lisa Kudro and Aly Michalka in front of my face so that was pretty cool. Ironically enough, I had a final in that same auditorium a couple months later. I got a 70 on it or something. All in all, good experience.

I saw this for the first time with my son in the hospital. He was in for chemotherapy and I watched every day when he was in for treatment. He got sick of watching it and was so happy when they took it off the on demand. So I got the dvd and watched it on the computer to torcher him
My husband and I thought this was a very cute movie and the serious storyline was good. We really enjoyed it because I'm old as dirt and was part of the PUNK scene during the late 70s/early 80s and yes, I hung out at the real CBGB...so these kids did a great job! They may not be Richard Hell or Television but they did a great SKA rendition...We loved the drummer!
Wow I just watch the movie, the extra musical instruments gave it a depth that cant be matched by screaming Guitars alone. I play Sax and in my opinion people dont realize how good the Sax sounds. Good voice without good backing sux but man that was good, the dance the whole thing had me going.. Thanks so much for that Cheers from New Zealand...

this is a great performance. it makes me mad how people can be so blunt though. the original is a good piece, and honestly, i couldn't pick which one is a better version. but i think i know the reason they picked such a random song (in the eyes of the general public today) to cover. the actual meaning of the song is about a lost father. and in the movie, what's her face lost her dad. i believe this song was chosen because it made sense to the actual plot of the movie, in a "pay homage" way.
C'est vrai que le groupe est génial et qu'ils auraient du gagné le bandslam c'est eux qui étaient les meilleurs. J'ai vraiment aimé la chanson et le film.
