    How many years have you owned the boat, and what have your maintenance costs been like? Also, how many adults can you realistically fit for a day of sandbar hopping? Thanks, great detailed review.

      Kevin I have owned the boat for about 5 years now. I change oil and spark plugs every spring. That is the only maintenance is have done to it. You can take 6-8 adults if you needed to. 4-6 makes it nice. If you wanted to pack in and spread out once you get to sandbar, the capacity is 10.

    How is it slalom skiing? Pulling kids skiing? Are the wakes too big to cut hard accross?

    I was curious what the top speed is on a boat like this. I was looking for one in my area. I'm sure this one is sold.

    Hey Tate,thank you for this video. Next week i will look at one of these boats from 2008 and hopefully buy it. Do you have any tips on what I should look out for? After how many hours should the engines be overhauled?

      Hey Christopher, these are really good boats. I am by no way an expert on them. I have heard they can get some rot around the cover for the gas tank, so I would check that. Check steering and throttle cables for freedom of movement, check clean out plugs to make sure they come out realistically easy. MR1 engines are awesome engines. You need to check hours at dealer. But if taken care off, can last a long time. Hope this helps.

      Thank you for your answer, it is very helpful to have to have a few points on a checklist 😅
      How many hours do you have on your boat without problems?

    • @tlwhiten1
      @tlwhiten1  2 роки тому

      I am not sure how many hours I have on my boat, but we have had zero problems. Change oil and spark plugs every spring, winterize it with antifreeze in fall. Grease intermediate bearings every spring when I lube my axles. That is really it.

      No, these are the MR-1s. They are 160 hp each.

    What do you use to clean your boat

      Austin I just use auto wash soap and water. I use mcguires vinyl protector for seats. Turtle wax on hull.

    Do You still own the boat? have you tried wake surfing behind it? Anything to add for someone considering one of these?

    • @tlwhiten1
      @tlwhiten1  4 роки тому +1

      Tom Jandron I do still own the boat and I love it. I haven’t tried wake surfing, and I don’t think it would be well suited for it. Not much of a wake behind them. Need to use water bags, etc to get a decent wake. If you want to wakeboard/surf and that is your main objective, I might consider a different boat. If you want an all around great pleasure boat, I would highly recommend it!

    how is loading up on the trailer? easier than an IO?

    • @jacobpolak2
      @jacobpolak2 5 років тому

      Sterndrive*

    • @tlwhiten1
      @tlwhiten1  5 років тому +1

      No, I would say definitely more difficult, until you get used to it. I load it where there is a lot of wind, and without the stern drive in the water, the wind pushed you sideways. The new models have a rudder to help this. Once you get used to it, you just have to keep the power in to keep it straight. Definitely not something I would not buy the boat for, but probably want to practice with it before you try it at a busy ramp.

    How is the fuel consumption ?

    • @tlwhiten1
      @tlwhiten1  6 років тому

      Very comparable to an IO V8. We go sand bar hoping all day, probably underway for about an hour total for about $15-20 bucks. Not WOT, but cruising about 20-25 mph.
