As a philarchaeus Greek myself, I must admit that I was taken aback seeing ancient Messini. I had no idea of its archaeological importance, and even less of its magnifying beauty. Thank you for having us as your co-travellers to this magical journey!
When the Thebans defeated the Spartans in the middle of the 4th century BC and liberated the Helots, they built Messini in memory of the great victory. The area is incredibly beautiful and I love it. Thank you for the presentation.
oh wow, how nice that it wasnt crowded and that you could pretty much explore the place freely by yourselves. SUCH cool architecture and history, I really enjoyed this!! Thank you from canada :) ~Erinn
At 6:33 I am pretty sure no one would have said off with his head during a sporting event, otherwise nice video. When I was there over a 2.5 to 3 hour period there might have been six other people the entire time. For water, I recommend a SurviMate. With the filter, you could use sink water or event the water from the little "streams" they have around the site. Also, when I was there they were excavating three areas, and watching them place stones in place with a crane for a minute was interesting. Keep up the good work!
Wow, watching them work with a crane would have been fascinating! We loved how few people were at this site - very different from others we visited. And agreed that they likely would not have hollered that. 😉 Thanka for watching and commenting!
Thanks , I’ve been researching Greece for 2 and a half years…supposed to go in 2020. But we know what happened. The PELOPPONESE has many great sites and I’ll be spending a good amount of time there before heading off to Hydra , Poros & AEGINA. I’m too old to want to drive (78 in October) so it’s bus and taxi all the way. I think your videos are great…you’re my kind of people along with your corny humor…I’m Australian. Traveled a lot but mostly UK and Asia.
I'm excited for you to finally go on a trip you've been planning for so long! Stay safe and have an incredible trip! (And thanks for enjoying our corny humor 😂😂)
Oh man, we feel you in this! 😂 This was one of our earliest videos - literally every aspect of our videos has improved since then (but especially the music!). Thanks for watching! 😊

We were shocked by how large it was, and how few people were there. It was a completely different experience compared to more popular ruins!
The entire area west of the city of Kalamata is filled with ancient ruins and castles. It’s a beautiful area but it is not advertised adequately.

Thank you for that insight!

@@TalesFromOurPocket thanks for your help
nice travel vlog🌟🌟
Thank you!!
If you are a foreign tourist and mostly not European propably you'll never heard about ancient Messini.
Exactly. 😉
6:33 maybe they use to do so in U.S. movies but certainly not in Greece
Yeah, we were just fooling around for that part, not knowing what they would have really said. 😉
The music is quite annoying and detracts from an otherwise superb video. Cheers!
