Mateus, você é a pessoa responsável por, indiretamente, me fazer voltar a tocar guitarra. Há 13 anos atrás ouvi pela primeira vez o álbum D.D.G e me apaixonei pela guitarra do Afram, 8 anos mais tarde sofri um assalto violento e os médicos disseram que eu perderia cerca de 80% do movimento de toda a minha mão direita, automaticamente deixei de sentir vontade de tocar guitarra. Mas foi com Cristo e com a ajuda de profissionais incríveis eu consegui recuperar todo o movimento dos tendões. Só que desde então nunca mais havia me voltado à guitarra. Foi quando realizei meu sonho de ir em um show do G3 em Porto Alegre, no dia 17/11... e estavam lá duas das pessoas que eu sempre fiz questão de acompanhar, o Afram e você. Esse comentário é um agradecimento, não só pelo incentivo indireto (pois uma semana depois do show eu já estava com minha guitarra nova em mãos hehehe), mas também pela sua música que ajudou não somente a mim, mas a muitos que hoje te acompanham. Absolute legend and definitely underrated. One of the best guitarists - dare I say - that has ever lived. Mateus has got that extra bit you cannot teach or learn. And for him that extra bit is actually a little bit more than usual, which is astounding. Truly a blessing. Thank you!

So your claim is that of the people who know and listen to Mateus, an insane amount (50%+?) make comments that his playing is not highly valued, or they estimate the value or importance of his playing as insignificnt? I've seen negative comments about Vai, Tommy Emmanuel, Mayer, EVH, and other greats, but I honestly can't remember a single negative comment about Mateus. Maybe you have found some trolls, but I really doubt that an insane amount of his listeners undervalue his playing. Most of the time when people claim "underrated" they mean they wish everyone knew and appreciated the artist the way that they do.
Literally everything he plays makes me think in my head "this might be the best thing I've ever heard" Never heard such a beautifully melodic fusion of musical brilliance and chops like this

A lot of people have notes/speed...some have style/phrasing/rhythmic nuance...some just have a lot of heart---this, though, is a truly rare and beautiful, even miraculous mixture, of everything we all love about guitar playing--about blues, rock, jazz, shred---soul---thank you so much for playing from your heart, and letting your music reflect everything that is there, for all of us who love music--same goes for the trio---amazing job supporting the music and letting you flow/take your time. Would that all music was executed with such acumen and sincerity!
You, and Ichika Nito have some of the most beautiful melodies I’ve ever heard in my life. Inspire me so much. My family loves listening to you since we all come from church music as well.
Yeah, the feeling of the crowd and the stage was just "on". I loved how the riff got the crowd going, then the drums adjusted, base came in, and it was time to rock. Stellar performance from everyone.
