When they had a colour change of commanders etc, I also noticed that chests in the season pass didn't upgrade with that change which also resulted in a value decrease. Glad you are exposing this because a lot of players would see two lines in Elite and assume an upgrade. No doubt what the developers had in mind.
The game has 12 months left max, only the spenders and existing player base is left, most new players stop playing 1/2 way through season 1. They should have a $100 cap each season that gets you way more than it does now, no more whales and everyone would be drawn to max out each season. Me and a bunch of other long time players all quit end of our season a couple weeks ago. Netease are the worst devs in ever seen. Literally do the opposite of what players want at every turn. Such a shame, could be such a good game
The Game is going from bad to worse , for the F2P and Low Spenders ! First think we badly need is a respec commander event or a respec commander hammer to buy at the season finale !
Totally agree with all your points. It would be interesting to know how many free players can be enticed into spending when you're making thise changes. I am assuming they have some data to show that they will make more money. And sadly, ultimately it's about profits. As for me, I might quit playing.

This might be the worst update they've done so far and it might kill the game... It's pretty much impossible to become a whale now with all these downgrades. Which basically means that current whales/kraken will always be whales/krakens until they quit the game. And F2P players are gonna quit after playing a season in which they face a whale-team. Without new players to face, the game will get boring more quickly...

If anything, the better value purchasable are making becoming a whale easier for those spending money - see the end of the video if you haven’t already. However when it is doing, is making the gap between whales and f2p wider
im going to counter you here and even though I agree that the lack of mathoms is an issue for free to play in general it is very difficult now for free to play to compete with spenders. Lets be realistic here. pretty much every whale also buys the season pass so there is no catch up for free to play based around the pass alone, unless ofcourse theyve played 15 seasons and been pretty lucky with gear and respect drops. free to play have a roll in every fellowship the general consensus seems to be that's not front line fighting but more tiling pathing siege etc. the speed ups theoretically help this game play a lot more and the hammers are never a bad thing to see people not lose their items by having to rearrange their gear. There was a time not long ago where people said they would pay for hammers. you released a video last week on how good this chest was and how people should spend on it, but now you are saying its a bad thing as it increases the gap, which it does increase the gap, but sadly like everything in life there will always be that gap. we cant get it all the ways we want all the time. weve been asking for the season pass to change for a long time. i agree the weapon is a shame however its become a dawn. something like a axe of khazad or palantir or something in that ilk would be fantastic to see. I just think we need to be consistent in what we are saying to people also.

You’re telling F2P players they’re not allowed to fight anymore, rather than giving them any chance. I think it’s pretty disgusting. I also advised spending on the chest because it is a great value chest. It also favours those that can spend more on it, so detriments free or low spenders. Those two things are not mutually exclusive. Removing red book, making T1 and T2 comms unusable, you’re not seeing the trend here? It’s milking the cash cow before the game gets shelved.
@TheHJWgaming really good point about T1 specifically, they are useless outside of S1 in most cases. There is little to no counter mechanism in the game for the right selection of T1s to counter the wrong selection of T2s or T3s. Troops, which are universally recruited by every player in the game have also been depowered. The trend is there and it is demoralising for those making the transition from S2 to S3. How many S3 teams have we seen go from 200 to 50 in a season because there is 1. No matchmaking and 2. No ability to counter spenders. Every step that is being made makes this game more hostile to those dipping a toe or spending modest amounts. Low spenders ARE the heart beat of the game and this PBE will no doubt exclude their accounts from selection too.

F2P players are currently fighting other F2P in our server. all good fellowships have them its just picking the right names for the fights. 1.0 was unrealistic a T1 comm should never have been able to out hit T3 comms the way they did. 2.0 I appreciate has then gone too far the other way. But to say its just a cash grab is a very negative outlook with a PBE just around the corner thursday. I think there is a responsibility to reserve judgement until then. It could just be the game finding ways of getting its player base engaged again. or giving them what they want (we did ask for this kind of chest!) or trying to get the necessary funding in to secure the games future. ultimately Whales or F2P both have the same chance of good gear if they buy the season pass or 30 day mathom pack. there would be no incentive for hales to spend in the game (also keeping the game alive) if F2P could compete evenly. Watch some of the videos from this season with DK, they have serious F2P players doing a great job fighting against whales and krakens because they are built well and creative.
