Hi everyone! This is my day 2 of riding as a beginner. I practiced low speed turns and braking in the parking lot and went for a short ride on the street. As a beginner, riding on the street was intimidating but somehow I pulled it off lol.

To echo others in the comments section, you are doing great. I love his perspective, since I am looking at getting this bike but haven't rode in 3 decades.

..you sound like me, I had a few bikes in the 80s & 90s but my wife made me get rid of them while raising kids. 20 yrs later I took classes over, renewed my license.. and started riding again. I have 2 (1 is a Ninja 650) & my son has 2 and we ride in the beautiful mountains of Pa. on nice days!

You are doing and excellent job my friend! I been riding since 1985 and I still do low speed maneuvers twice a month. Anybody can do over 100 mph in a straight line but everyone can't ride between 2 & 4 mph without putting their feet down. I have a 2018 Ninja 650 and 3 other bikes. A CBR650 & restoring a 2009 R6. I helped my son get a ZX4rr 2 months ago. All my riding friends have Goldwings, Harleys, Indian Chieftains, and Triumph Rockets 3s... and I can do low speed maneuvers, figure 8s etc on every one of their bikes. I took several classes in the last 10 yrs also. Watch the Moto Gymkhana videos on UA-cam to learn more. Keep up the good work my friend and stay safe !☮

Could you do a video on what gear you bought and why? Would help with my decision. Nice bike, I'm also thinking of purchasing a ninja 650 next year.

@@BoxingLegends2024 You're dumb, you always look where you want to go on a motorcycle. It naturally shifts your body in a way that helps with turning, turns your shoulders and body,

let the rpms go up higher before you shift up gears so you are not going 40mph in 4th gear bro & when you come to a stop at red lights start easing on the front brakes until you feel it grabbing then ease onto the rear brake try to give 70% front brake 30% rear this will help you stop very smoothly & dont worry about seeing directly behind you nobody on a bike can see directly behind as long as you can see both left & right lane besides you let whatever cars that are directly behind you worry about you not you worry about them I know that part is a bit scary to have to trust them but you have no choice lol dont worry about having fear of other vehicles around you either I was the same way when I started and tbh its better to have that little bit of fear it keeps you more focused when you get too comfortable & lose the fear you have more opportunity to get careless! a little fear is good in this situation it will keep you alert & alive!

Crushing in 4th is pretty accurate for these bikes. engine is smoothest there.

You need to take a class asap. This bike can do u-turn in less than 2 spaces. Every u-turn you did was a parking space too wide.
It does downshift into 1st, you are just kicking the lever too lightly. When you downshift into first you can usually feel 2 gears going down, lightly to neutral and bottom to first.
Don't worry about stalling and feeling embarrassed, this will happen much more often. Even veteran stick drivers still cut off from time to time.
Again, highly recommend the class. You are practicing which is good, but you need to practice properly, and the class will equip you with this as well as a handbook to do these drills yourself within the proper limitations.

I already passed the class. This was just day 2 of riding. I will practice more to make the turns even tighter.
