    This is the best video for snare sound design I've ever seen. Many of the other videos on UA-cam don't manage to create a really production ready snare! But you show the ways to really bring the snare up to a great level in so much detail! Thanks!

    16:29 For a free alternative you can just use Izotope Vinyl or Cymatics Origin, it’ll basically do the same thing. Or RC-20 for a paid alternative.

      not sure those do exactly what lossy does here but i did find a pretty good alternative while i was editing 🫡 all links in the description

      @@ayozensa good alternative might be MAIM, it essentially does the same thing (mp3 compression)

      @@proxmbeats Codec is also a good alternative, it's also free however it's primarily made to emulate the sound of a low quality stream instead of plain mp3 compression. love maim though too

    damn so low end does matter in snares? my ass was cutting anything under the fundamental down for extra room for the kick

    • @ayozens
      @ayozens  3 місяці тому +1

      @@DJOverturned for most trap snares not really, you see towards the of the vid i cut most of it out. the low-mids where the fundamentals are sitting really the key to getting the snare sound once you pair it with the noise if that makes sense. tldr it depends on what type of snare you trynna make
