Crosstrek Drift Mode! How to Turn Traction Control Off - OEM VDC Fuse Switch
Вставка
- Опубліковано 9 чер 2020
- This mod will make your traction control button function as a switch for the VDC fuse. The original TC button just allows wheel spins at low speeds to get unstuck. When the VDC fuse is removed you can get sideways and drift without the rear brakes straightening you out. The system is set up where if one component is missing the whole system shuts down, that is why when the fuse is removed you will not have ABS or Hill-start assist.

Ah yes in winter i call that the party fuse
Taking my xv to its first Rally Cross, this is exactly what I was looking for!
That sounds like a blast! Gl
thanks man!! Work perfect!
No problem, thanks for watching!
Links for switch, fuse holders, and socket are in the description to purchase.
I just bought a 20 Impreza and have been looking for a way to disable the stability control. Thank you for the informative video. My only question is if the shifter won’t come out of park do the brake lights still work properly?
I believe they do.
Good job. Can we add another button for this mod? Oem tc off and modded vdc off. Two options would be better
Yes you can. When you do this mod it doesn’t affect the regular button. You would need a second button and somewhere to mount it is all.
Ay brotha, just found this video, solid work.
Any idea if anything changes on the 2nd gen crosstrek? 21 sport specifically, thanks🤙
Yes! Different button, almost everything is identical with the procedure though. I think I list both part numbers in the description. If not let me know and I’ll find it
Don’t see one listed for 21’ treks, if you could that’d be awesome, I’ll look around too
@@andrew1929 I couldn't find one, I bet this one will fit or be very close, they didn't really change the panel size very much. Let me know if you find something.
It does look a little different. Not sure.
I’ve used switches from smk fabrication for some stuff before, I’ll probably just use one of those, thanks man
i'm curious about the two wire from the light dimmer you actualy cut for the mode what they are and what they won't do anymore !?
They are for dealers to add foglights at the dealership. My car already has foglights with a switch on the turn signal stalk so I don’t need them.
If your car doesn’t have fog lights you can use it to add them
Will this work on a 2015 impreza without causing any damage to the car? Also, when the fuse is back in will all the lights go back off?
I haven’t had any issues, I’ve heard if you do a lot of drifting without stopping it can heat up the cvt but haven’t experienced it myself. The lights will only go off when you restart the vehicle.
I know you don't have one, but do you know if this should/may work on a 5th gen Impreza, 2017-current?
Thanks for watching! Yes I believe it does, there is a thread on a forum somewhere I’ll try and find it.
Good info here!

@@KurtofTrades this is how the 21 Crosstrek is laid out, for anyone wondering in the future
@@andrew1929 Yep the current gen is almost identical
So, can you flip back and forth at will, or do you need to restart the car to turn TC and VDC back on?
You have to restart the car for the lights on the dash to go away. Not sure if it’s just to reset the lights or to get the vdc and tc to work again I’ll test it this winter
@@KurtofTrades have you figured it out?
did you disable the EBD too with this mod? It's the same on a 2014 forester?
Not sure if it disables the EBD or not, I didn't do anything specifically for the EBD but I suppose it could be changed with disabling ABS, not sure though.
It is most likely the same on the Forester or very similar, I will try and look into it. Thanks for the question!
@@KurtofTrades I'm buying a 14' forester so I'm getting some informations. I think that the EBD Is very important. Thanks for tour answer!
Will this work for a 15 WRX?
Good question! I thought the wrx had the ability to turn vdc off without any mods I’ll look into it.
is it work with 2015 levorg?
No clue sorry we don’t have those in the states.
Is this for the XV generation or the 2nd gen?
This is for 12-16 Imprezas and 13-17 crosstrek. It works for the second gen too but I think the fog light switch is a different part numberz
lmao lost the screw, "its fine:"
😂 been 3 years so far no issues haha
