Great recommendations here - love stand alone fantasy recs. I cannot get sucked into another series right now. I have Ocean at the End of the Lane on my shelf - need to get to that one soon. I have started The Hobbit on audiobook twice and haven’t gotten far… I think something might be wrong with me there… maybe I need to try a physical copy.
I hope you enjoy Ocean! It was my first and only Gaiman book (I really need to fix that). Lol nothing wrong with that! You could try it in physical, as it has a bedtime story feel to it, and I can see how the narrator might affect that. But it could also be a "right time, right place" kinda book.
@@hewhospeaksoftales Yes I do think I just need the right time for the Hobbit. You definitely need to read more Gaiman - Neverwhere and The Anansi Boys were good. Coraline was ok but not a favorite.
Great suggestions! I for one, really enjoyed Elantris
