shoulda put a thickened edge around the boarder to prevent water washing out your base, also prevents your slab from floating away/breaking into pieces over time. js.

@@mrandrewdennis1 I kinda like editing too, it just takes forever! And my computer isn't the fastest, so compiling a video takes a while too. I do like to try new things with editing and such. It's pretty fun. You're doing good! Keep up the good work!

Just missed the rain. I’m never that lucky. At least you weren’t working in triple digit heat.

Great Video! We had to dig a hole large enough to remove an old footer that would not work with a newer possbile heavier system. Unfortunately, we had to dig a 40x30 inch circle just to get around it enough to bust old out. Now we are being told we cannot use a smaller form and then fill in dirt around it and compact it , I will not be safe? We will have to put a footer in the exact size of the big hole we already dug out. What is your opinion on this? We are deciding between a 475 lb Mega slam,. and one that only weight 275lb.

no rebar or wire mesh? are you down south? up here in the north I’d think that would crack first winter with nothing “tying” it together. frost heaves can do horrible things

NY state Fiber in the concrete. Concert will crack no matter what. Cut it ti control it and make sure it properly drained. Dirt don’t freeze the water does. Thank you for watching and commenting.

I read in your previous comments that you didn’t use rebar…is it still fine even today, or do you wish you would have used rebar? I have a quote without rebar, and I’m not sure if I need it or not. Going to be about 50x30 half court and only 4” thick

This pad is crack free still today. Upstate NY with frost. It is all about the preparation under. Keep the water out and it should not crack. Also saw joints. Thanks for watching and good luck.

    • @mrandrewdennis1

That’s right 3 years no cracks. Fiber in the concrete and saw cut. The key is a sub base that drains. I don’t know why anyone would put a expansion joint in a baseball court. That doesn’t sound like fun. Thanks for watching.
