Dude! Thank you... apparently my opener is a chamberlain with a red button but it's the older model like the green button. So the manual wasn't helping at all. I tried for over an hour, almost gave up, then watched your video and was able to do it in 5 seconds after that... I really appreciate it!
I bought this remote from home depot, it was the only one, and already returned by somebody back to home depot. I still bought it, but this thing is really confusing stuff. Your video made everything super clear what to do! Liftmaster with red button programmed to button #3 now, and I assigned button # 1 for the guardian we have, and programmed the button to the guardian! AAAwesome!!! Man! I can't believe this worked so easily. I went out took cover off. Pressed what looked like it should be a reset. It's not marked. And Presto! New opener. Going to buy another one. I had my doubts. I think my opener is older than 95 or 93. Will find the date and update this.

Help! We have a red learn button chamberlain. We programmed the universal remote to button 1 from the original remote. then pushed the learn button and the button we programmed. It opened once and then won't work after. Every time we hit button one, the opener learn button blinks yellow, so it's paired somehow, but won't open the door. Also, if we set it to button one, but it's pre-programmed for button 3 because it's a chamberlain red button unit, do we need to restore factory settings and star over?
@@Orgaaasms It's your safety sensors. Check and make sure that both have LED lights on. One will be green. One will be orange. Or make sure there's no spider webs or anything in the way. 100%. That's what it is though
I think there's a factory programmed button for a Purple Nurp. Use that button for one of the machines then you'll have to use the steps to program the other... If that makes sense.
At first I wasn't to thrilled about this remote. But after getting to know it better we became friends. Clunky at first, but ends up being a really cool remote. Marantec owners will love how easy it is to program. A lot to remember, lol. I guess that's why there's videos like this!
My Chamberlain 1/2 H.P. that's 12 years old immediately connected. My LiftMaster 8365W-267 with the Yellow button manufactured 10/2019 the Universal #4 button absolutely does not work on. So frustrating. We have 2 remotes, it doesn't work on either one. Then right on the opener there's an ad for the My Q program, that did work immediately! But it has terrible reviews, so would rather use the Universal Genie. Seeing other comments here and elsewhere, I don't think the newer LiftMasters work with this remote any longer. Regardless of what their advertising states.
Sounds like I need to make a video geared towards the Chamberlain LiftMaster yellow learn button. If I remember correctly, you have to let the opener cycle until it shuts off both ways. I'll have to look again. But I remember there was a step you had to do unlike the other learn buttons. I had a guy the other day with the same problem.

Just bought the Genie universal series garage remote and the box says 2021 on it . My question is does it have the same built in presets that the one you used in this video??? Yes. As you do the steps, you'll at some point have to activate the LEARN button on the opener. Then finish the steps. Learn button should be labeled. 👍🏼

Are you pressing the learn button, then the #4 button, let it cycle until the machine stops. Then press the learn button again, press the #4 button. Let the unit cycle until it shuts off. #4 then should be programmed.
Ok, no problem. Did you 1. Press the learn button. 2. Press #4 on the remote (door starts to move). Let it go until it stops. 4. Press the learn button a 2nd time. 5. Press #4 again. Let it go until it stops. Should be programmed after that. 🤔 It's important to let it cycle all the way up and down.
You should be able to follow the steps like the first example in the video. When locating the learn button on your machine, it is the square button. Press in and hold until you see a purple light. Let go. Finish the programming steps.

TIP: Allow the LED light on the universal transmitter to stop flashing before your next button press.
You'll have to press the learn button twice. It's super important. Just go to the part in this video for a LiftMaster yellow button. Follow it to the T.

Spent hours on this. The newer LiftMaster, ours made 10/19, absolutely does not connect via #4 button or any button. Now false advertising.

It works with about 6-8 different brands.
This remote has Chamberlain LiftMaster pre programmed right out of the box.
