I meant you said there are youtubers who try to sell wrong foods - just wondering who those youtubers are, I only know Dr Berg and Thomas Delauer who are by far the most famous youtubers on keto- are you referring to them?
@@ahmedzakikhan7639 if you actually watch their videos you would know they don't promote junk food. Especially Dr. Berg, he's always promoting salads, protein, berries and healthy fats.
Shelly, you didn't once mention I.F., "intermittent fasting".
That was the main thing I heard about in Keto. I did all those things about whatever I wanted to eat in a 4 to 6 hour window and when I got HUNGRY, I drank water or green tea and sometimes I would try to put off eating for a full day. I knew that when I was hungry my body was eating all that fat off of my body all that cheese and condiments (and I have to start eating clean fats meat, butter cheese whole foods, this was all last year) just before Thanksgiving.
This 78 year old woman with diabetes and had her uterus removed because it was cancer went from 228 lbs to 161 lbs in four months. My A1C was 6.7 and now 5.7 all of this without exercising during the winter and scared of COVID. so getting ready to start this month in silver slipper. I tried it before but I was so out of breath and now I can do it in the pool.
Please remind everyone of the I.F. it is THE most important thing in doing KETO😊😊

My boyfriend and I have been doing Keto for almost 6 months now. He has lost around 90 just on Keto, and 150 in total. I lost about 5 pounds the first week, and about 3 or 4 pounds over the remaining time doing Keto, so about 5 1/2 months. I have never been so completely frustrated with dieting as I am now. My boyfriend and I met on Xbox, and we dated online for 2 years before he finally flew down to California from Canada to live with me. We both started keto at the same time, and he looks amazing now, and I am still stuck almost right where I was after the first initial week of water weight that I lost. Never been so frustrated with dieting in my life...

This was a great video I just started keto and lost 10 pounds but i got stuck and you really helped me see that I am consuming too much dairy. I got caught up in all the hype of cheese and dairy. Now I will adjust and replace the cheese and dart with a 1/2 to 1 avocado. Thank you I just subscribed and you are funny too.

Condiments , cheese, and artificial sweeteners got me.......so I cut out the ketchup, backed off on the monk fruit, and now use cheese sparingly. I have cut breads, carbs, and sugars out a year ago....I love the fact that I don't get hangry, or have cravings any more.

Keep up the great info, bougie! :) I go with keeping it simple, really read labels and rarely weigh myself (scale avoidance). I need to work on limiting the keto "desserts" (like packaged cookies, etc). IMHO, portion control is always important, no matter how one eats. Learn as you go.

Is the protein making me stall?? Since I workout 5 days a week and lift weights. I eat 90gm or so protein. I take a very low carb/ low sugar protein shake after my workouts. My total calorie intake in around 1200. How much protein shud I be eating on a keto diet when I am.consuming 1200 calories. I do not honestly understand the term, moderate protein.
I take a low sugar low carb protein shake after my workout sessions where I lift weights. Is the protein ornprotwin shake making me stall? I take 1200 calories a day and 90 gm protein atleast. Is it too much for a keto diet??
Thanks so much for your get real overview and for addressing those stupid ads to lose 100 lbs in 60 days! I’ve been taking total magnesium lately and it’s helping my stress and getting some better sleep. Also taking ashwaghanda for stress when needed too. For now I’m on the egg fast to get back on track and it’s helping me in a lot of ways and simplifying my dietary patterns.

Thanks for the information. I have been doing Keto for 6 months and have lost 30 pounds, but I have hit a plateau for the last 2 weeks, up and down 3 pounds but no loss. I need to cut back on the meat and cheese and cut out the Keto snacks. Plus drink more water. I will see how it goes but I will never give up. At 65 it is the only way I have been able to lose weight.
I am so proud of you! Do those cut backs and you should be down in no time!

I’m surprised that people snack during the day. I have 2 meals-one at noon and the next at 6pm. I am so full after cutting out carbs that I often can’t finish my plate. I’m loading up on greens with a palm sized protein and either 1/2 avocado or piece of cheese on the side. Sometimes I’ll have 5 macadamia nuts too.

I think it may be the 'nut snacking' that I do while I'm cooking that has me stalled, but I'm starting to track again on Carb Manager to be sure. And like you said I need to measure - my 'go to' snack is pecans.
It’s amazing how when we track we can see - oh no - I need to cut back. The same on my end - I can easily over snack on the nuts!

I'm sure it's the bad oils causing me inflammation. Especially store bought dressings. 🤪 I would say Ive been eating 50% clean 50% dirty so I'mma try to do mostly clean with an occasional dirty treat here and there and see how it goes. I'll come back and update
I have combined keto with vegan. One of the things I have done is use CHAO cheese 6g of carbohydrate and 0g of sugar (1oz serving size). But with corn starch being #3 and potato starch is #4 for the ingredients. I may have to rethink this.

I’m struggling with weight loss which was never an issue before……bloody peri menopause 😞 I’ve been on Keto and do ADF 36-42 hr fasts and lost 20lb over 2 months. Massive sacrifices made but having had a virus this week and not eating much I’ve put 2lb on. My GP won’t put me on HRT because I have no symptoms. Im always in ketosis and blood glucose is around 4.8 to 6.0 depending on the time test is taken after food. Everything I eat I weight out portions, I put in my Keto app and I never go over my allowances. WHY AM I NOT LOSING WEIGHT. It’s really affecting my mental health. I’m in a bad place!
Give yourself time after your virus (about a week). Make sure you are eating your exact macros after the illness. Keep me posted!

Oh my gosh!!! I know you are speaking the truth but this sucks. It’s like someone must be punking me! But yeah I have been eating way too much butter and cream in my coffee and dairy in general thinking it was ok. Well I lost 45 lbs which is awesome BUT now for MONTHS I’ve lost not an ounce more! 😖😖😖

Hello there. I just found ur chanel. And I loved it. U truly have great suggestions. But I really need your ornanyone else's help. I hope u will answer my questions. Last time on keto I have lost 30lbs. Then covidnhappened and I had to take care of my ailing father. I have lost him 4 months back. The depression took a toll on me and I have gained 50 lbs, the heaviest I have ever been. He was all I had. Lost my mother when I was a kid. Exactly 1 month I have started keto and workout 5 days a week. 35 min cardio and 30+ min weights. I lost 2 to 3 lbs on the 1st week or 2. but last few weeks no movement on the scale. I am eating very clean. Less than 20 net carbs, 1200 calories. I don't add added butter or cheese or nuts. When I was losing weight on the diet, first few weeks i was having 20 peanuts a day. Since I stopped taking the nuts my weight loss stopped aswell. In order to take protein for workouts, I take 1 scoop of low sugar low carb protein shake with water on my workout days. I am working out, eating clean, more energy at the gym, but no weightloss...i am getting very discouraged since i have a long way to go. I know my comment is super large, but i had to give u the whole pic so that u can understand. Pls advice. Oh, intermittent fast 18:6 6 days a week. Thanks
Thank you so much for sharing your story with me. I am so sad about your father. Did you download my menu? That may help you to give ideas of meals during fasting - sometimes we actually don't do enough good fats (adding EVOO to foods). Track to see your macros as well!
Hi there from Australia. I've been on keto for about 14 months. Last 4-5 months I've hit a plateau. Think it's dairy as i love cheese and keto "fluff". Also not drinking enough water. Also having 3 almond lattes a day! Do you agree too much dairy? Been having keto "fluff" almost twice a day since i started keto.
Up that water and watch out for too much dairy!

So what I do if I'm at a plateau is for a couple months I'm counting my calories and then I switch over to low carb again for 3 months. I keep going back and forth. The switch up helps me not plateau. That might help people who are at the I just I can't lose any more phase.

Too Much Fat! Yes, that’s exactly what my problem was. You won’t GAIN necessarily by eating fat but you won’t lose because your body will burn your food fat instead of body fat.

*I'm vegan - I can't eat meat. The thought of it makes me sick.
*Food sensitivity test said I need to cut out nuts (and other foods) per the elimination diet protocol for a couple months.
#3 I was taught that we do not drink water with meals because it washes away all the enzymes?
Hi! Being vegan, you can successfully do keto! Don't worry about the meat - our focus is getting the good fat in your diet!!! Do you elimination diet protocol as instructed - add in those good fat (avo, olive oil, olives) I like water with meals because it helps us remember to drink it!!! Let me know how else I can help!

Isn't that ignoring insulin resistance? I have been pre and diabetic for 20 years. I can stop eating completely and not lose.
@@carol2132 If that were true, maybe they should use insulin resistance to fix world hunger. Weight gain/loss is calories in, calories out... Works every time
@@dietitianshelly try eating a high protein & high fiber diet. Focuse on low calorie dense foods if weight loss is your goal.
BS. 3 hamburger patties a day is definitely in a caloric deficit. I plateaued after losing 18 lbs
I have no nuts I have no avocados or any condiments with carbs at all I lost when I was eating way more cheese covered food, I do almost no cheese now I have been 80 days lost 14 lbs and stopped losing.

Haha I was even gaining weight (3kg in few weeks) on Keto. I almost quit, so thank you so much for you video 🙂 What is your ideal ratio of fat/protein/carbs? The 75%/20%/5% is very hard for me. I mean it's hard to get in so much fat.

well then it's like any other diet, no carbs no sugar very little condiments I only lost less then 2 lbs in 10 days. I never ate cream, never butter in my coffee, not eating tons of cheese every day, eating meat and veggies. 1 slice of proteine bread for breakfast, did not eat a single nut, no snacks, never drank alcohol, I have been drinking water since I was a kid

My bariatric doctor told me the opposite as far as fat...he encourages very high fat and My to pick the fat then pick the protein, then veggie optional. I really have to make an effort to add my fat.
Look for those amazing plant based fats (olive oils) to add in - drizzle some on that protein!!!

I have been on keto since 2 week keeping my calories and carbs in check but I ended up losing only 1kg. This is the first time this happened. Normally I would lose 3-4 kgs water weight... This time I didnt. Someone can please guide.

I am on keto and haven't lost a pound
No breakfast one meal a day with 3 egg omelette with onion peppers and cheese. Coffee in AM with a little heavy cream and a little monk fruit and that's it but I also have one glass of wine. Water and sometimes a cup of tea in evening with heavy cream and some monk fruit sugar..no eating at night no snacking and I haven't lost one ounce. Also I drink lots of water and take some electrolytes.
So what's the problem???

You keep mentioning calories of things, I was under the impression that with keto and carnivore diets you don’t count calories. Multiple Doctors (including my own holistic doctor), acknowledge that calories in and calories out method rarely works for people. Is it just a carryover from your dietician education?
I personally do not believe calories in vs calories out - never said I followed calories in vs out. Instead I worry about over eating - even the items that are on our keto plans - due to not understanding our hunger cues as well as stress eating. Thanks!

thanks for the video, I have started the keto diet for 2 weeks and i haven't lost any pounds. i have been calculating all my daily food which i eat. However, i haven't been able to consume 70% fat a day!! it's too hard to get this much fat with too much protein we eat a day!!
therefore, according to your video i assume, this % isn't correct, right??
what i mean is, even if we eat all meats with more fats, we still need bulletproof coffee or more oil to get close to 60% fat a day, otherwise we have consumed more protein rather than fats!
so how much fat in % should i eat a day to lose way?! 50%? 40%?
i count everything i eat, and i haven't consume more than 1500 cal a day.. but i haven't lost any weights... i even went into intermittent fasting for 3 days, no sign of losing a sigle pound!!
my carbohydrates has never crossed 20gr per a day either!!

I re-started keto last Wednesday (so 6 days deep) and.... Wait for it.... I've gained 1 or 2lbs a day! 🤦🏽♀️ I'm not giving up though.
I was keto for 18 months from Nov 2018 and lost 86lbs... Then right before lock down I started mysteriously gaining 1lb or 2lb a day. No one could help me - none of the gurus had anything to say; I gave up on myself and fell snout down into carbs. You can imagine (2 years later) what that looks like! Well. No more!
I suspect my first round of keto messed with my thyroid/metabolism
Here I am again. Persevering. Proudly on day 6 - watching that Carb creep! 👍😁

Timeline was fine with me! And I am super relaxed - just letting you know I am fine with the timeline and if I'm happy, in a good weight range, and have great labs, why worry? If you'd watch the videos you would see and hear that I am SUPER short and didn't really have much more weight to lose. I'd say the same thing if we were having a face to face conversation.
