Like the Wind was commissioned by the Wisconsin Arts Board in celebration of its 50th Anniversary. Inspired by, and borrowing text from the poem of the same title by poet Dasha Kelly Hamilton, Like the Wind celebrates the creative process. In that spirit, the poet and composer give students and teachers explicit permission to be creative in your performances of Like the Wind. You may broadly imagine how to shape and perform the music and/or lyrics to create your own unique version of this piece.
