    Although I'm not a Harley guy I test rode this bike today. I was very impressed by several facts :
    - The bike is very comfortable and no vibration as many could assume from a Harley
    - Torque was everywhere and a twist of a throttle was needed for that massive bike to jump at any gear
    - This bike with those crazy front and rear tires doesn't want to lean so you literally need to push it down believe me
    It was a joy to ride and I highly recommend it to everybody
    Thanks David for the review

    First-respectfully speaking, Thank you David. I parted with my 02’ Fat Boy in 04’ house in Colorado had 10 minutes of dirt to get to. I am now 58 years old and though I like the 2015 103 FB, I must consider fatigue and enjoying a 200 mi. ride!
    The review was so well done shifting, braking suspension all matter on a long ride. The $$ difference is substantial about 8K
    but in the long run it would be worth it. I’ll test both of the 19’ FB versions now because of this video. In reality it may cost me 10K difference because I like chrome and no rubber or plastic cables or hardware. I may post a review of the comparison to help others! TY
    Aussies and Brits still are America’s greatest Allies in my opinion. TY

    Hi M Cohen thank you for your videos, I just bought a 2018 114 fat boy and then just discovered the sport glide through your videos and I think to myself I've made a mistake maybe... Even if 'm pretty sure your preference goes to the sport glide, how would you compare those two bikes?

    Never thought I would say it.. Harley's new FatBoy is one of the best bikes I have ever ridden... It looks like a beautiful nostalgic throwback...

      Hi Today I test rode a 2018 fatboy with 5700 miles. Im New to Harleys, is it normal with the Vibration even at high speed? No wobbling nothing like that.

    I'm 5'8 so I'd probably prefer mids. Wheels are fabulous. Hard to fault if you like a big cruiser with a wide rear tyre.

    Over all quite nice, very Luke warm on the fork head light treatment.
    Just for looks I would like a carbon fiber hand shifter to look as metal integrated to foot shift. If I so chose I could reach up to cool shift knob to change gears.
    Harley simply can not rest on its laurels it must innovate or go the way of the Henderson.

      At 3 times the price, I have a hammer S and would love a fatboy but way to expensive, I like my victory but that clunky gearchange is a PITA.

    This video had to be made, it's a dang near perfect bike . Another harley I really like is the breakout , but the fat boy is a beefed up bike with rims that are really sharp looking . Thumbs up

      In a test ride day in 2018 I rode Harley Davidson bikes for the first time and guess which models : Breakout and Fat Boy ! loved them both. Breakout is more manoeuvrable as the back tire is has a more circular profile. the Fat Boy is more challenging again because of those fat tires but two things which make me want that bike : it's troque and it's presence ! that bike is a monster. dominates so many cruisers in the market.
      BTW I never heard David so excited in his videos. so David I guess your favourite HD is the Fat Boy? ;)

  • @MrBlompod

    Great review wish they were 20 grand like in America 34 thousand dollars is insane...... why do we get so ripped off in Australia?

    • @DavidCohenTV
      @DavidCohenTV  6 років тому +1

      Cheers - guess is that the exchange rate takes it to $26k, freight to get it here and good ol' GST. Still not $34k though hey.

    • @MrBlompod
      @MrBlompod 6 років тому +2

      the price list I got from M&W today puts the 114 at 33990 dollars ride away I’m pretty sure. Im going to take one for a test ride but the street bob is probably more in my price range, but the new fat boy I think is the best looking motorcycle out... stunning 😲

    • @001whitelighter
      @001whitelighter 6 років тому

      Shipping it out and gst on top of that
      And then rego plus on road cost
      That's why is so expensive here in australia

    • @MrBlompod

    • @SickBikeDude

      20k here in the USA is stupid expensive...
      To compare, you could get a brand new rocket 3 roadster for 15,700K in the USA ....
      I love Harley. But they’re fuckin greedy.

  • @bobclapper2672
    @bobclapper2672 6 років тому +2

    Hey David , I’ve been hearing that the wide tire in back really makes cornering tricky , is that true ?

    • @DavidCohenTV
      @DavidCohenTV  6 років тому +2

      Nah - not tricky - it needs more effort and can want to follow seams in the tarmac etc - but one you get used to it it's OK. None of the 240 sections handle as well as a 180, but they are about getting a bigger contact patch for launching - and the look.

    • @DavidCohenTV

      It goes ok but yep, the Low rider is a better option.

    • @nevillegreg1
      @nevillegreg1 7 років тому +2

      Yep, I love the looks, but I have instead ordered the Low Rider with the 114 (stage III) upgrade, which includes the beefier cam - predominately for the better handling over the Fatboy.

  • @abmbarry
    @abmbarry 6 років тому +1

    Hi David; ... Thanks yet again for a very good review. I went out to our local HD dealer and spent an hour or so going over the range of interest. The Bat Boy certainly holds a soft spot. I also liked the Slim. I will stop here or Id'e end up saying I like most of the Soft Tails! The last Fat Boy I rode would have been around 2000, .... great looking, not inspiring on the road, However, you have put me back in the looking zone in this one! Cheers David

    How would you compare this bike to the Indian Chief Dark Horse? I'm currently looking at both of these bikes but need an opinion of someone who has riding experience on both of these bikes

    • @hbarajas9878
      @hbarajas9878 6 років тому

      The FATBOY has a better infrastructure for dealer service should anything go wrong that you cannot fix or repair on your own so I would say the HD.

    • @gman913
      @gman913 6 років тому

      They don't the Indian is a better bike. Harley does have more dealers that part is true but the bike doesn't measure up to a Chief Dark Horse.

    Well I had an EVO FLSTF. The EVO engine was good but in no way was even close to the power (obviously) of my 103 FLS. The FLS I had, while a real looker due to previous owner mods, was the shittiest riding Harley I ever owned. I'm not sure if it was spokes on the wheels or what, but it sucked. My first HD, a 1959 XLCH was my love, but it wasn't meant to be....had to sell her. EVERYONE wanted that bike. I paid $2k (US) from a dealer at that. Oh the old days. There is nothing like kicking a bike. Its a true biker ritual. Couple that with a leaky Bendix Carburetor and you have true Harley grit.

    It would be okay iif som things weren't screwed up! The rear fender is too high or either needs longer sides and the rear fender is also too short when the wrap down fender would look excellent instead. The rear fender also gives this bie the short look and of people want the short stubbed look then they need the sportster. The rear fender RUINS what would be a good fatboy. I would rebuild an older one before I would buy that one. A fatboy bidg twin is not supposed to look like some kids sports dirt bike
