    12:37 - magic vestment was fixed/altered. It now provides armor only to body armor and shields. It now grants a bonus only to +5 without stacking. For example, if you're wearing a +2 armor, and a cleric can cast magic vestment that grants +3 armor class, then your armor will now be +3.

      As a sidenote this video was a great one as noticed several new ideas with buffs. First playthrough and level 5 so lot to learn. For example noticed that Healing mud actually heals ability dmg. Also Protection from Evil with immunity to Charm is huge.
      When it comes to enemy that use grapple I think there were few on the tavern defence. I remember it as even now 2 of my characters have -1 negative level and I have not found more of Restoration Scrolls as I already used them too early.

    I really like the guide, it sounds like we have a very similar play style.
    I think it's worth mentioning "cold ice strike" which is level six for both arcane and divine casters. At first glance it seems really weak as it does 1d6 cold per level in a 30 ft line. But it's one of very few spells in the game that is a swift action by default.
    I'm glad you mentioned unbreakable heart, but I think you undersold it a little bit. It removes literally any effect on a character that causes you to lose control of them. So it suppresses fear, charm, dominate, confusion, etc.
    I agree with you on the weakness of level 7 spells. I usually pick up heightened spell around level 13 so I can use the level 7 slots for level 6 spells and heightened archons aura.

    • @cRPGBro
      @cRPGBro  2 роки тому

      Thank you for the support!
      I actually never gave that much thought into Ice Strike - really nice to know it is a Swift action which does matter a lot, basically free Quicken spell, very rare for a damage spell to work in such a way. Always more to learn in Pathfinder!
      I think I was not able to remove Confusion from Song of Discord that some Mythic Demons love spamming, however, probably because it's not really coded as "Confusion" I guess although the effect is really pretty much the same.
      But Unbreakable Heart is indeed very solid and a must.

    Any charisma-based caster that wants to get the most damage possible out of elemental spells can benefit from a one-level dip in crossblooded sorcerer, taking two draconic bloodlines of the same element type (such as brass + gold) to get the same effect as bolster spell on any spell with the matching element descriptor. This also works on spells they get from other classes, like fire strike, and is in fact most effective on fire strike & hellfire ray because it applies the bonus damage twice, on the fire damage half and the (un)holy damage half. If you also bolster the spell with metamagic, the result is an extra 4 flat damage for each damage die rolled (and again, this is doubled on spells with split damage types like fire strike & hellfire ray). If someone really wanted to, they could also use a mythic ability to pick up a third bloodline and get another stack of this class feature, for a potential +5 damage per die on a bolstered spell of the appropriate element.
    For a single level and a metamagic feat, this can add up to 40 flat damage to fireball, 120 to fire strike, or 120 per ray to hellfire ray.

      There are actually a lot of powerful Oracle Revelation abilities that cannot be duplicated by spells, but they are mostly passives.
      Not really when it comes to actual spell like buffs, I think.
      The ones I choose all fall into this category: roll 3x for Initiative, CHA to AC, free feat selection including feats Oracles cannot get otherwise like Weapon Specialization, full scaling Animal Companion, up to Oracle CL as + temp HP for all party when you heal over their max HP.

    Ok here is a very niche and only half-relevant question/idea: In taking that arcane class the uses the druid spellbook, I think it's Nature Mage, then turning that into an arcane trickster with a lich spellbook merge, can you get sneak attack damage to apply to Cave Fangs? Just a thought, though I'm now curious as to what is a different path with this divine into arcane tree with a lich path and maybe converting damage to negative energy.

    • @cRPGBro
      @cRPGBro  2 роки тому +1

      Hello there and thank you!
      Yeah, Clerics are missing Cat's Grace, but the Nature Casters all have it I believe.
      My issue with Pillar of Life is that as far as I'm aware it was nerfed or changed a while ago not to be as cheesy anymore.
      So you can't for example hit Playful Darkness multiple times with it, but you still can do it just fine with the similar Angel spell Radiant Ground as I show here:
      ua-cam.com/video/ac_dgg3Vrr8/v-deo.html

    Elemental assessor is worse than hellfire ray in any plausible scenario. At mythic rank 10, assuming no damage resistance at all, it will do 28d6 with ele barrage procs, and a further 16d6 if lucky on the d4 roll for the number of additional rounds. There is a 75% chance that in the 2nd round, it will proc ele barrage, leading to a further 10d6. In total, 54d6, which is actually better than hellfire ray. However, this assumes no damage is resisted, and a maximum duration on the d4 roll. This will almost never be true. The reality is that you will face either immunity or DR 10 against nearly all elemental damage by this stage of the game, completely neutering the initial hit (the average damage of 2d6-10 is extremely low), so you are basically left with 20-30d6 (27.5d6 on average) from ele barrage and a trivial amount of elemental damage, unless using ascendant element. If your plan is to use hellfire ray, you presumably will be using ascendant element fire, in which case, you arent going to proc ele barrage with hellfire ray, as fire will do the most damage and therefore all damage in subsequent rounds will also be fire damage. And this is before considering fire specific gear, which will heavily skew in favour of hellfire ray which procs these effects 3 times rather than once. Its also before accounting for metamagic. As hellfire ray's damage actually comes from the spell, not elemental barrage, it will benefit fully (or with fire specific gear, near fully), from metamagic, whereas this will do very little for elemental assessor. Also, you will reach caster level 19 long before mythic rank 10.

    • @cRPGBro
      @cRPGBro  2 роки тому +1

      Yeah, I personally just prefer to spam Hellfire Ray empowered with Metamagic, but Elemental Assessor can have this use if casters really want to benefit from Elemental Barrage.
      It's kinda funny that Barrage is vastly more suited for melee or ranged characters because it's far easier to stack multiple sources of elemental damage on multiple attacks, while spellcasters are usually restricted to 2 spells/round, or 3 if Demon.

    Magic weapon and magic vestment I find to be extremely abusive and unbalanced. Magic weapon is not supposed to stack with a weapons enhancement bonus, but thankfully it caps out at + 6.
    Magic vestment creates an uncapped floating enhancement bonus on top of your armors existing bonus. So you could have a plus 6 suit of armor, cast magic vestment on it and get another six points of enhancement bonus. You don't even have to wear armor to use the spell. The text description of the spell is how it should be implemented, and how it is and the actual rule set, but the way it's implemented in game is hilariously overpowered and abusive. Shame on the developers for not fixing it. There's no way the Pathfinder rule set intends for a third level spell to give you a massive bonus to your armor class that stacks with literally everything and lasts for the better part of a day.
    I use the table top tweaks mod which disables stacking from the magic weapon and magic vestment spells.

    • @cRPGBro
      @cRPGBro  2 роки тому +1

      I like the stacking nature of Magic Weapon & GMW mostly as a way to really let even lower enchantment weapons still remain useful, but I can see why it would be pretty powerful, especially for GMW.
      As far as Magical Vestment, I also don't see why it should stack, but I do like that it works even if you are unarmored (I suppose you could just wear any piece of clothing to cover yourself or your pets).
