This was really helpful, my Betta had one puffy/cloudy eye which seemed to happen overnight. My tests weren't showing any issues with the water but I did 20-30% water changes daily for a few days and added lots of extra almond leaves and his eye has cleared right up and he's back to his old self again- thank you so much for this video 😊.
Cloudy eye in bettas also can be an indication that your little girl or boy is now a grandma or grandpa. Cataracts are common in elderly animals. Two years is the start of a betta’s golden years and is the beginning of the development of cataracts.
I've had my betta fish for just over 2 years and he has developed cloudy eyes and has lost his appetite. I think maybe the end is near for him but I'm trying my best to help him.
My Betta is on a 3 gallon and today I just noticed he has cloudy eyes, and his fins are teared do I just change the water 50% everyday and that's all? He's also swimming in a weird angle, like going in a daignle (idk how to spell) line. Is that normal?
I don't really know if this was a cloudy eye but he had one BIG EYE and on the side of it looked like it was going to pop out because the side of it had white lines but the recovery took only 2-3 days
Hi my betta has two cloudy eyes, I noticed a few days ago when I got a new light. I ordered kanaplex but he is acting fine eating swimming the way he should. Is it a good idea to try the water changes first before doing an inexperienced medication to him.
Hi. Sorry to hear about your betta. I suggest you do the daily water changes first as in my experiences, the cloudy eye was gone just by doing the daily water changes without any medications.
@@aquashowroom4406 okay I hope so because other than the eyes hes perfect I'd hate to have to medicate him and have him die, cloudy eye and popeye are different?
@@cardiosurgeon423 thank you. I have two others. One I just got who wasn't eating in his petstore cup isn't eating with me either so not sure if he has parasites or something like that
My betta has one kinda clody eye ive done lots of water changes for 25% and one 40% hes acting mostly fine and hes active. Should i be worried? Hes in a a gallon.
Hi. I have not experienced this yet but there are many reasons for such. First thing, have you checked your water parameters to make sure they're not the contributing factor to it? Reasons for white spot on eye could be due to unjury or infection. Injuries could be due to the betta bumping on something or other fish cause it if there are other fish with the betta and other factors. Infection can be caused by bacteria or parasite (e.g. eye fluke). This is where the water test is important as poor water quality affects the immune system of the betta and makes them vulnerable to diseases. Goodluck to you.
@@cardiosurgeon423 Hi. Maybe worth doing some observations as Ive mentioned above and see if it keeps on recurring. if it does, then there's something wrong.
In my two experiences, I just did daily water changes and the cloudy was gone without medication. Try just doing the daily water changes and hopefully the cloudy eye will be gone. Goodluck.
@@aquashowroom4406 thank you. Just finished doing the 50%water change. I have a Betta sorority plus some platys. I only notice it on one female betta whom I have only had for about 2 months now along with her sisters. I'm hoping it isn't something that will spread.
@@jessicaj7681 One of the causes could be bacterial infection and so there is that risk that it could affect others too. if you have a hospital tank, it will be best to isolate your betta with cloudy eye. if you cant do that, just continue doing the daily water changes and observe your bettas.
Hi. has the fin rot been healed? in my experience on cloudy eye, i just did daily water changes and in 1 to 2 days, they were gone. so it would be best to do at least 50% water changes daily and observe your betta.
@@ph4rohhumuli Yes do an immediate water change of at least 50%. Do that daily and observe the betta. In my experiences, the water changes solved the cloudy eye in a few days and even in one day in one instance.
