great intro - I have been wanting to get one to learn. I actually love the red wood one and how it sounds, but I will get the beginner purple one to learn first :)
Hi, I have a G key dongxiao and it is too big for my hands...can you tell me where i can buy something like the 2 smaller flutes in this video? I don't want to give up on playing the xiao...currently on the G and D key dizi.
I depends on the tone. Small in chinese is 小 (xiǎo), which is in third (falling-rising) tone. Xiao flute on the other hand is written with the character 簫 (xiāo) which has the same pronuciation as 小 but is in first (level) tone rather than third.
FML i bought the longest one ... good part is im starting to get used to it (btw its also my first wind instrument)
5:56 "Oop, sorry." Hahaha. :)
where can I buy those flutes?

great thank you very much!
Thank you !
Which Key of dizi flute is nearest to the deep sound of a metal flute.?
i think the point of a dizi is that it has the dimo, giving it a brighter sound than a western metal flute
EXCELLENT!!!

Hey, where Can I buy one of these? Thank you for your video. I would like to buy the one you recommended.
I know it's been 8 years from this video but I was wondering about how to choose the way its built, I mean, if Its a Xiao F or G
F or G is written on the xiao beside the hole, it's very clear. You can buy online and they often label the F or G key on the description.
thanks for the thorough explanation. I want to buy a xiao and I love the deep sound. but there are so many keys, which key should
I get?
G for beginner
Thank you!
It’s funny because in the links I don’t see to find either of those flutes but everything else?!?!?!

How much is fair for a rosewood xiao?
Doesn't xiao just mean small in chinese?
