Her runs are so fucking unique, strong, conrtolled, perfectly pitched... Obv im not alone adoring her but in my mind she must be the best female Singer to have ever existed
As someone who has suffered from long-term depression on and off for many, many years, her vocal during the chorus feels to me like a depressed person wanting to break free from the overwhelming darkness and silence and scream to the world that, "I WANNA LIVE!!!" I've had many times when the innocent child in me was screaming to be free of the darkness, to be person I once was, when happiness existed, and each time Sia explodes in the chorus, I feel it in such a powerful way, like my inside are wanting to scream out and kill off the silence of depression.
I loved your reaction and you understand well her singing style. She has that bluesy quality in her vocals because she was almost 15 years an indie- folk singer and she brought this style in pop, breaking that over-polished, conventional way of delivering. Please also react to Alive - live at Graham Norton, a mind blowing performance! And if you are curious about indie-Sia, Sia before fame and wigs, I suggest for a reaction one of her best live performances for a stunning song> Soon We'll Be Found, live at David Letterman (2008). So impressive! As you said, she is in her own league, nobody is like her.
Magical. Wondrous. Depressingly beautiful. The type which tears well up in your eyes with the chorus and your not completely sure why… it’s truly magical.
There are honestly no good words to describe exactly what this is. You can only feel it. The true gift of this art created by Sia- is that the feeling can belong uniquely to each of us. It’s uniquely human. No words needed.
Sia was working on a track for Rihanna. The title came from her book of song ideas: "When I saw a chandelier, I thought I could write a song about swinging from the chandelier. A party anthem of some sort. But as I was writing it, it turned into a song about my battles with addiction, inadvertently." But the moment she realized the personal significance of the song, Sia felt she "couldn’t give it away." I believe the song is much deeper. It is an existential anthem for all of us who feel trapped in the cycle of short-term gratification, lost in the maze of this absurd existence. Each dawn casting its relentless light on our darkest regrets of unfulfilled potential. It is about desperately trying to numb the pain of meaninglessness as we realize that happiness is nothing but a cruel joke. We're all swinging from The Chandelier, holding on for dear life in a precarious dance between hope and despair.
USA bass player she's awesome she put in her time she's forty-seven she played in the acid jazz band in the early 90s he dedicated she's never stopped.
Tough to critique or analyze someone as unique as SIA .. massive pipes .. soulful breaks .. emotional to the nth degree .. tough to critique .. this song is breathtaking.
I recommend you a Spanish singer with incredible melismas in Spain they call her the girl with the three lungs. Her name is Diana Navarro with the song "El perdón" she is very versatile and sings different styles of music. She is a very complete singer apart from composing some songs. Greetings from Spain
Suspect as singers there is a bunch of stuff by Tori Amos you'd enjoy or find interesting. Pretty much any live performance of her songs. "Winter" is a good starting point.
How does she do that where she sounds like she squeals and sucking air it's weird I haven't heard any other singers ever do that it's like it's almost off pitch but it's not I can't explain it I'm not a singer sorry I'm a bass player
Its Sia unique technical . When she belt to high note , she used a trick call whistle register (yodeling) to keep her breath long and power . Belt - whistle notes - belt -.... so the result is Sia can pitch high notes more powerful without turn in falsetto which thin and light . Ofc there are singers used whistle but Sia is the only one used it by this way so she is unique . Most people dont realized Sia used whistle 😂 You should check Sia use Tremolo voice technical in Breath me kcrw 2007 . I never ever hear anything like that

High C notes perfect (C5 I guess). Then down 1 octave instantly. The best academic Mezzo-soprano cannot do this. She can do it. Period.
I have no idea what you're talking about but I can, somehow, understand what you saying...
Sia is an amazing singer....! 😅
Since you do not know C5 = 523 Hz, which is quite high pitched. Octave bounds are twice in range (log 2 scale). You teach mucic without the basics ?

She's a master manipulator of words / notes..that's her MO. and add in the intentional voice cracks.. wow!
There's no one else like her.
Yesss, please do the performance of Alive from Graham Norton!

Superb song well sung, looks totally bizarre. So hope Allie Sherlock never goes through this stage.
Sherlock is WAY overrated
