The new Starlink Mini will run on 12 volt right out of the box.
Star mount systems in California has several mounting options and also converts the starlink to 12v.
Thanks!
We have the 12 volt convertor from Starmount and their removable bracket in case we want to take it off to use on another vehicle or use off the camper. It is very heavy and awkward being up so high, so not something to do very often - wonderful investment however for our travels. We would not have it any other way. Ours is also mounted on the roof of our truck camper. We have the v3 regular model (not the roam version), and found that we can use it while driving with no issues. We also we did not want to store it and use for planning while underway on trips so the roof mounting was best for us.
@@mkrammedid starmount systems actually mount it for you or did you guys do it yourself. Would love to add to our truck camper.
Not yet hooked into Starlink as haven't had too many places with zero Verizon service. Maybe if/when I make $ on UA-cam. Thanks for the review.
@@geogypsytraveler hopefully the price gets better with time.
It has to be the best product because we know so many people that have Starlink.
Thank you. ✌️😁
You’re welcome 😊
Most likely the main power savings by using DC power would be from not running the inverter. Inverters use power just by being turn on, even if nothing is drawing power.
Wow….super informative! Thanks a bunch!!
I know what you mean. My high-roof Ram PM regularly encounters limbs while I drive about on a normal day…. I can just imagine if some sort of contraption were sticking above my roof, out and exposed for those limbs to whack regularly…..
Pistol says “ what the heck are you all talking about”?
I think that I would go with the 12 volt on the go version. I like the idea of being able to link up while driving. All of the reviews I have watched on the Starlink say that the one true draw back has been the power consumption. I got to believe that the 12 volt version would be easier on the battery bank. I am going to start planning a van or camper set up in the near future. Hopefully by then, the Starlink subscription will be less expensive.
Had my rotator cuff surgery Friday morning. The doc was pleased with how it turned out. It’s obviously early days, but I’m chomping at the bit to start PT. The only challenge I am experiencing is the pain meds. I’m hyper sensitive to most all of the opioids. I got some Nucynta and while it doesn’t make me vomit, I still get nauseous and I hallucinate. I think Tylenol will have to do from here on. Carey On my friends!
I can only assume that it should get better and cheaper in the future. Glad the surgery went well!
you could put higher cat whisker's on it
You guys are off of the main roads? What are you? From Oregon or something? 😂
What is your Verizon cost?
We have Visible which is Verizon for $25 a month unlimited everything. It also includes a 5mb hot spot. If interest and want to try it, please let me know as I can save you $20 on first month and me also.
