That was a pretty epic bushwack, and the hits kept on hitting. You have already succeeded; you are inspiring and educational. Many thanks for the journey.
Very cool artist colony out there in the desert. Thanks for explaining what an earth ship is! Awesome to see Georgia O'Keeffe's house. Respect for your determination and ability to problem solve.
New Mexico,.where dreams come to d.e.....what a quote. Hoping you make it through safety in these last few weeks. It's ending as stressfully as it began with the snow on Katadin. Wishing you a few cruisey days before you finish at least.
@@JaruWalksSome, not all, hot girls on trail tend to be a bit too dramatic and emotional for me to watch. I’ve always gravitated towards men… signed a 59 year old female 😉 P.S. you ask the best questions of the people you come across.
I thought you would have to go to Cuba before hitting consistent dry trail. The San Pedro wilderness was always a wet snowy place, but probably the last snow to the border.
Oh! it just ended at the most interesting point! How will you get out of there? Amazing. fascinating landscape. I have seen nothing like it before. Such beautiful trees? What an interesting area with the earth ships, artists and people who have been living there for hundreds of years. The weavers' earth ship is where I want to go. That short cut :D how much of a short cut was it? The ground covered in cactuses (yeah I don't like the word cacti. it is silly.). I couldn't help but laugh at that, having to walk through them. And all those canyons. Not deep but still impossible. Reminds me a bit of my favorite hiking area. no short cuts there. There is always at least one small thorn filled canyon you can't get across. You look at it and think "it is just 1.5 metres deep. It can't be impossible!" But it is. Or you spend four hours and get out scraped up with ripped clothes and exhausted on the other side. And about being out of food I would like to say that the first time I attempted my favourite hike I didn't know where to find food. I started out with so much food. Half the backpack. But I still ran out. I was so weak and hungry. So to counter that situation happening again on next year's attempt, I started practicing intermittent fasting. I am now fine to hike and be out of food for 24 hours. Not fun maybe, but possible. And where I hike it is a lot closer to food than where you are. But of course, even there you can be unlucky and never get a ride, come across a canyon etc. I don't like that the snow is against you. I have to wish you even more luck.
I don’t believe your dream is dead, New Mexico difficulty or not. I think you will figure this out. I am not even looking at the math. I just have a belief that you will finish this. Sorry for the NM difficulties. My husband is from Grants /ABQ…so I know the “strangeness” ( last vid) and almost other worldly quality of the place.
recommend down to Hwy. 96 hitch into Cuba get a room and food, then your good for the snow to Mt Taylor, but water is scarce fille up wherever you can 4 L minimum. I've done this several times From Grants road walk to Pie town, No water for big distances. Can't say about Gila it can be variable but less of it is above 9000. There are some lower roads around Taylor.
Wow. I know you want to accomplish the triple, so I’m always amazed (and impressed) when you allow an adventure to intervene. The earth ships, cow tour, and Georgia O’Keefe house were fascinating.
If you want current updates, the only place I’m posting is on Instagram @jaruwalks
I have no words of wisdom for you. I am just praying for strength, endurance, sustenance supplies, safety and maybe a little wind at your back. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

That is rough having shot guns giving u warning, stay safe.
Entering what we call the checkerboard. You will have to stick to roads for a while, I fear.
Did the bushwacking save you any time compared to the road walk,
