Hi Adam, i had a pair of Indian high-flyers and their chicks are performing well in competitions. Unfortunately, i lost the cock bird. Now i have two male off-springs of that cock and its female. My question is, is it possible to breed same quality birds using these three birds? If yes, what should be my breeding strategy?
Pair the best cock back to the mother, and also try to find some new birds of similar quality to complement them.

Some really nice birds,
I’ve spent sometime thinking and talking with my other half and we’ve come to agree on getting 1 or 2 breeding pair of racers and spending the next few years setting up a team before racing.
Just gonna start a small stock loft in the garden and hope no neighbours turn on us until we get get a bigger place or pigeon allotment.

I knew someone would say this - no, crest is found in many pigeons and not just Aardens. It is the same as how recessive red doesn't mean Meulemans.
This bird is an "Evans", but crests in pigeons go back to the very beginning of the modern homer when crested breeds like Flying Owls were used in the development of our modern bird.

I’d advise watching them. The evidence for which is which once mature is clear..
cocks spend a lot more time chasing/courting hens or even other cocks. Cocks fight a lot more and are more dominant over the perches.
This method is an old yet not a 100% guaranteed method and that’s the flat head, hens have a flat head almost look like they have been hit on the head with a hammer but like I say that’s not 100% effective but it worked for me on a 90% scale. I’m sure Adam might have another way but until he gets back to you this might help :)
I haven’t kept pigeons in a few years but due to Adam and a few other YTers I’m getting the bug again 😅🤣

Hey Adam. Whats your oldest bird
At the moment I have two from 2007, and one that might be older but has no ring so I'm not sure of his true age. I had a 2005 bird die recently unfortunately, but his bloodline is still in the loft.

Yes, one still fills every egg, the other gets about half of them.
