WoW! Thanks for posting this. It was the first comic book shop I ever went to as a kid. This is a great snapshot of Ann Arbor in the early 90's/late 80's.
This is great! the 'Cool Stuff' shelves have pretty much expanded and taken up most of the space in the local comic shops around where I live. Hey, if that helps to keep the place afloat, I'm fine with that! Many years later, EC comics are still the best.
I remember going up those stairs quite often, leaving the backpack on the shelf. What memories. It was at the corner of E. Williams and State Street. If you do a google street view of 660 E. Williams Street Ann Arbor, MI, it was on the 2nd floor of that building where there is a Jimmy Johns now on the first floor. I can't remember what food place was there before. You can see the stairs from the beginning of the video behind that glass, metal door behind Jimmy Johns.
@@knavehart That's right! That was where I developed my taste in early translated manga and indie comics. I remember hanging out there quite a bit. mostly with the store manager Joe. I also remember that the location was Dave's Comic 2. The original store was in Royal Oak. Good times.
I remember eating a mc DLT...on those stairs waiting for my friends big bro to get done with the comics. Wow memories. Plus taking the ( free bus) downtown, cause ur parents let u do it. Love old A2

Oddly enough, I was a patron of the original Dave's Comics in Royal Oak during the 1980s, but I never made it to Ann Arbor!
