I really enjoyed this video. It brings me back to a long time ago - back in the mid 70's, when my wife and I had our first Florida vacation together. Our young boys at the time, really missed out, but thats ok. Because theres nothing like making great memories with your mate! Anyway, my wife and I experienced the delicious taste of conch. Im guessing that is must have still been legal back in those days. It was absolutely fantastic!! I mean we went to a shoreline restaurant that was all you can eat conch. Neither of us had it before. It was close to heaven on earth! We will never forget it as long as we live! Hey Kelly Young fans, if you EVER get a chance to try conch, GO FOR IT! You won't regret it!

I used to sail....life and my knee stopped it. It's all good. It did give me a thrill seeing you on that catamaran!!! Sailing takes skill and work...and a brain!!! Any fool can run a power boat!!!😝😝😂😂 Enjoy sailing, & learn more about it, Kelly. You'll reap more than you sow on a sailboat!!! Keep living your life, & give God all the glory. God bless you always. When I was stationed in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba we would snorkel for Conch and the Jamaican guys who lived on the same side of the base where I worked would clean them and make fritters and Conch chowder. The water there was just as you showed at the end. Clear as glass and bath tub warm. That was 30 years ago but the memory is still clear as a bell. Thanks for great content and bringing back great times.

Kel, 2 easy ways: Get a large Phillips head screwdriver and hammer. Near the crown of the conch, you'll see 3 or 4 circles. (we call them the eyes) Hammer the screwdriver in there, it will go right in. Grab the handle and rotate wobbly 4-5 times, then it will pull right out. If it's still stubborn, plunge into another eye. Second way: Take a board with a hole cut out, you can use a hole bit like for a doorknob hole. Elevate the board above a bucket and some ice with the conch centered over the hole and gravity will pull it out overnight, no need to bust the shell. The second way is when you want to save the shell especially. Kiss.

So Kelly in Panama where I was stationed the Panamanians take a larger fish hook and hooked into the foot of the conch, and hang them from a tree, eventually the conch will give up and the conch shell will drop to the ground. It takes about 12 to 24 hours but this process saves the shell from being destroyed which can be solded on the market
