You're not meant to put the caps back on afterwards bud due to the tips expanding when they've been wet. Rosemary and Co advise to discard them once you start using the brushes.
Ah yes, just watched it back, the dry brushes didn't have them, but the series S did, but they were low quality, so I binned them and used some old GW ones I had instead, You are right they should be used, mainly to store downwards so the water is drawn out of the ferral rather than in after you finished painting
They are nice brushes. Saw the D brushes at Salute. Look very interesting. I’ve been using make up brushes for a while to dry brush. Going to try out the sponge technique with it. Great brushes but a little to expensive for me
I just got a set of these today, I am looking forward to trying them out. I want to see how they compare to makeup brushes or the Army Painter Masterclass set, and to see if I can get the hang of this dampening technique.
The Artis Opus dry brushes are meant to be the best out here, just the word on the street. I tell you something better than brush leaning soap for sable brushes (I do use 'The Masters Cleaning soap), use that Vaelljo Brush Restorer for sable brushes (blue liquid), dip your brushes in there 6 minutes and see that dry paint stuck in the ferrule that soap and water won't remove disappear. Amazing.
im concerned with how long they would last, like i personally only use dry brushes for basing, fur, and large mechanical areas robots etc, especially when you can spend like 10 bux for 2 army painter dry brushes that will do those jobs great, but the d series does look great just yeh not sure yet if im gunna pull the trigger lol
Good review. Look nice brushes and a neat system. Cant afford the the kickstarter at the mo. After your review another brush review popped up reviewing Winsor and Newton, Da Vinci, Rosemary and co, and Raphael. I've ordered a Raphael, £4 cheaper than Winsor n Newton. The guy talked about a problem he was having with WnN a single hair longer than all the others in the centre of the brush, making it a problem when trying to do eyes and very small work. the last 2 of mine have been the same. I have email.ed WnN to see if the brushes should have that longer hair.
Stuff like that and the fact that GWs brushes are made by Winsor & Newton is all over the internet. Just search it and you'll find several sources talking about it.
Excellent review, be sure to tell our artist. We are also going to go out in kickstarter, with our own figures. If you are interested, go to our channel, there are links to social networks where you can find our figures. We hope for your support!

you don't have to dilute it and the vallejo repair liquid is reusable, 5-6 minutes only. For sable brushes.
Awesome sound effects in the intro. Nailed it.
he he thanks mate, that was fun to do

They didn't have any caps mate? Maybe they were off already as it was just a demo set for me to test
@@IDICBeer in your vid you mentioned that you didn't like the quality of the caps, it was near the beginning of the vid.
@@TheSixYardBox I think I was referring to the S series

Nice tecnical...and wonderful first 25 seconds, dynamic and professional...
Thanks Phil, glad you liked it

Thanks mate, I look forward to try the bigger ones on some Necron vehicles at some point :)
Your intro was awesome. Made me smile.
Thanks Adrian, glad you enjoyed it :D
Nice work. Adding in how c are properly for ththe brushes as well as The review makes it well balanced and is helpful. Love your work.
Thank you sir :)
The intro was awesome mate! Great vid as always :-)
Cheers dan, glad you liked it

They are really good although I must admit I've not got the hang if the wet brush bit

General consensus is they suck for the price. It's luck of the draw whether you get a decent one or not.
Thanks for the tip, I will check that out

I haven't really used them enough yet to say how long lasting they are tbh. I'm like you and don't do a great deal of dry brushing
Great review of the brushes Nick
Cheers mate :)

Thanks mate, that doesn't seem normal tbh, will be interesting to see what they say
Seems interesting I like to try different brands of brushes so when the brushes I have die on me I will probably try them out.
Thanks mate, it's good to experiment
So do you add water to the moisture pad?
Yes pal, it's like a little sponge, you add water to it to keep it moist
@@IDICBeer Looks to me like its just a smaller dry makeup brush cleaning sponge. Might have to grab one and give it a try.
Awesome review, my brother! These seem like really good brushes! Very cool!

Thanks mate, the dry brushes are fun to use
very interesting. thanks for the review.
My pleasure mate
Intro wasreally cool im after some new brushes
Thanks mate, what do you usually use?
@@IDICBeer been using army painter but they have started to fall apart
They do look good. I absolutely destroy my dry brushes. Would be good for that not to happen.
Yeah I am heavy handed, or just lazy, when it comes to cleaning brushes ha ha
Interesting. Thanks for sharing. 👍
No problemo :D
i really like the sounds that u make it's so cool lol XD
Thank you, glad you liked it :D
My fave brush is a Raphael #2
I like sizes 0 and 1 best, unless it's a bug surface area
@@IDICBeer I agree
..the wife got it for me without knowing what the sizes meant but it does such a great job
Fun and factual "for the win" lol. :>)
Thanks mate :D
Cheap makeup brushes are the absolute best for mini dry brushing.
Good tip thanks
yes a look in to see as post more
Thanks mate
Artis Opus Brushes are the best ones out there
I have been happy with them :D
The Artis Opus brushes are just *rebranded Rosemary and Co Brushes* with a higher price tag.
Interesting, how do you know that?
Stuff like that and the fact that GWs brushes are made by Winsor & Newton is all over the internet.
Just search it and you'll find several sources talking about it.
You're right. They are rebranded Hog Bristle Domed Round brushes that are only 3 quid a piece.
We should start calling it "Moist Brushing"...
Sounds good to me ha ha
Not sure I've ever bought a dry brush. I used dead brushes
lol I love new dry brushes
