Hi Lin! Nice to hear from you. I think they have really perfected the Speck Presidio2 Grip this year, as long as you are a fan of the new grip style, which I am. Perfect fit, excellent hand feel, just enough grip…just an outstanding case!
Thanks for the review, your videos are always so informative. Love these new summer colours. Just waiting now for them to be available on Amazon so we can order them in the UK.
Hi Chris! Hopefully they will be...sometimes Speck keeps certain products as specific to their own website. Fingers crossed that these are not on that list!!
My only question with cases like this that are very protective and tight fitting is what about heat dissipation from the phone? Seems like these will keep the phone and battery a lot hotter than without a case or with a slimmer case.
Hi Dan! I'm the type of person that uses a case all the time on my phone, so I have a hard time comparing my iPhone experience with that of a caseless one. I suspect you are right to an extent. However, to me, the risk of damage to your phone by not using a case is probably greater than the potential risk to your phone by running a bit hotter over time... Thanks so much for watching!
Hi Felix! The Magbak MagSafe cases look pretty awesome online, but unfortunately I haven't gotten a chance to check them out in person. However, based on what I can see, it doesn't look like they are going to be nearly as protective as the Speck Presidio2 Pro and Grip cases. They are advertised as having 6 ft drop protection, which is certainly nothing to sneeze at, but the Speck cases are advertised as having 13 ft of drop protection. Hope this helps, and thanks for your kind comments!
Lol!! Grip is such a subjective thing. What is grippy for one person may not be grippy for another. But I agree that the Presidio line is excellent. I’m using the Presidio2 Grip on my 15 Pro right now, and it’s just a pleasure to use!
Thanks! My otterbox symetry is terribly slippery. Is the Presidio2 Pro case better in this respect? (I know that the 'Presidio2 Grip' is grippier but i'm not a fan of its design).
Hi Ykodi! What generation of Symmetry do you have? They used to be a lot more slippery, but they have greatly improved grip now... As for the current iPhone 14 Pro Presidio2 Pro versus the 14 Pro Symmetry Series+, the Symmetry Series+ is going to be significantly grippier.
Hi Kirby! Yes it is, as long as the 3D Impact screen protector is perfectly aligned. However, if it is even a tiny bit off center, it will bubble up, because the tolerances are so tight.
Really like these cases fit is fabulous and not much bulk loving the buttons as well. I ordered one for the I phone 13pro but unfortunately no MagSafe on it . The one with the MagSafe from Amazon won’t ship to Ireland witch I think is ridiculous . Great video as always and fabulous content love from Ireland 👏😎🇮🇪
Hi Mary! Sorry to hear that the MagSafe version of the Presidio2 cases isn't available to ship to you in Ireland...I personally think it is kind of ridiculous, and rather confusing for Speck to have two versions of the Presidio2 cases...one with MagSafe and one without. MagSafe is an integral part of the iPhone 12 series and newer...cases should all be designed to work with it! Are there any local retailers in Ireland who carry Speck products?
Hey, great to hear it, Mary! The Pitaka New MagEZ Case Pro is a hard case to get a hold of...glad you managed to snag one! I just love the New MagEZ Case Pro. As you say, the magnets are super strong, and the case has a marvelous hand feel. Enjoy!!
Hi @RJtoon1! Nice to hear from you, and an excellent point. I should have pointed that out in the review video for that screen protector. If you are in a situation where you need to hold your phone in a position where your data can be read, a privacy screen protector can make things tricky. For me, a privacy screen protector interferes with having my QR code scanned for the Covid tests I have to take every 2-3 days as a Shanghai resident.
@@TheTechReviewer Oh and I had an interesting week. The screen on my little android tablet shattered I have no idea how so I had a new screen put on it and a screen protector cost was $72 Canadian. It’s a 2016 galaxy tab a 7 inch and I use it every day for playing trivia with friends at a café and as a radio all night long to help me sleep so it was worth it. Then I had to replace the screen protector on my 12.9 inch iPad Pro from 2018 and this is something I will never do again even when slowly peeling these massive screen protectors little glass shards fly into the air because it cracks no matter how slowly you do it so I try to follow instructional videos on UA-cam like sliding a piece of paper under the part that has been lifted after you use a razor blade on the corners and stuff but it’s still breaks and shatters wow. I actually got it and put a new one on myself with the alignment tool but I think that is something I will leave to the professionals from now on I had to vacuum everywhere lol
Wow! Sorry, just seeing your message now. I was on vacation last week. That's a lot of screen protector excitement, and not in a good way! I've actually never put a screen protector on any of my tablets...they usually never leave home, and don't seem like they need a screen protector in the same way that a phone does. However, my tablet cases invariably are a folio style, with a cover, so that helps protect them. But that's awful about all the glass shards flying everywhere! I hope you didn't get cut in the process!! I can see why you would want to outsource that job!
Hi @kingo290. How interesting! That's not something which bothers me personally, but everyone's impressions are different. Thanks so much for sharing your Speck Presidio2 case experience!
Really nice video, just ordered the presidio 2 pro as it seems that the grip is nowhere to be found in my country, my only concern is if its slippery i am not one of those who need extra grippy cases but a decent grip is always prefered
Hi @nap! Thanks so much for your kind words, and I hope you love your new case! Hope the grip is sufficient…grip is such a personal thing…varies a lot between people.
Hi @Ae14! So, are you a fan of the old glossy finish Speck cases? Case feel is so very personal! Some people love the soft touch finishes, other people like something hard and smooth, like RhinoShield's cases, others like a nice leather case, or a glossy clear case...it varies hugely!! I think part of it may depend on how dry or sweaty your hands tend to be, or whether you are fingerprint phobic...So what's your favorite case this year?
@@TheTechReviewer not sure about the glossy- but the original hard shell presidio was top notch to me. I love the phone rebel case this year. Durable, thin, great magnetd
Hi Ricky! That's the RhinoShield 3D Impact Screen Protector in the Privacy version...there's also a Clear and a Matte version available. They have upgraded these super impact resistant screen protectors to have an easy installer system now, which is much appreciated. Here's a link to my recent review: ua-cam.com/video/zsb1EdyPc-M/v-deo.html
I’m a big fan of theGrips redesign. I love it!
Hi Adam! I think the redesign is really polarizing...either you love it or you hate it. I'm with you...I love the new Presidio2 Grip!
I love my Precidio 2 grip case in Coastal Blue. It looks great on my Sierra Blue 13 pro max.

Hi F.J.! The MagSafe Presidio2 Grip is my favorite as well. Great case. Hope you love yours!!
Nice video!!! Do this video speck case from iPhone 14 pro max!!!
Thanks, Luis! I have a couple of Speck cases for the 14 Pro Max coming up this spring...not the same exact ones, however.

Just bought a presidio2 for my pixel 8. Grip feels good. Don't know why everyone is saying there's no grip. Must have slimy hands 😆

Speck makes some of the best cases imo.
They've been doing iPhone cases for a long time, and I think they've gotten really good at them!!
@@TheTechReviewer definitely agree.
😊
@TheTechReviewer but unfortunately they never make camers slide protection

The grip isn’t thicker at all? Does the phone feel wider with the grip compared to non grip?
No, the grip version doesn't add any thickness to the case. Same width...just makes the phone feel more secure in the hand!
Hello. Does this case is compatible with rhinoshield 3d impact screen protector? Thank you.
Hi Kirby! Yes it is, as long as the 3D Impact screen protector is perfectly aligned. However, if it is even a tiny bit off center, it will bubble up, because the tolerances are so tight.

Do the grip and non grip have the same texture? That silicone like feeling plastic?
Yes. The same soft touch finish. But one has grip ridges, and one doesn’t…
