  • The X95 has been around for some time now so most of this won’t be new, but I have had my rifle for over a year and felt that I may as well do a review on it.

Except for getting brass in the face when i shoot from the left, I really like my X95! I put the conventional pistol grip and trigger guard on mine (that's IDF standard) and aftermarket backup sights because the built in sights just look flimsy to me. When shooting lefty, I can operate the safety easily with the knuckles of my left trigger finger.
One thing that concerns me is that it leaves brass particles in the receiver and bolt group after firing. I've yet to have a function issue after around a thousand rounds, but this does bother me a bit. ALSO, my rifle does not cycle steel-case ammo.

So brass particles are normal for most guns when they are brand new but should diminish after it has been broken in. That is usually between 200-500 rounds so you should be past that. You may want to consider honing the chamber (link below) if you have some kind obstruction in the chamber, that would explain why steel cases don’t work for you. The steel is harder then brass and will get caught on any imperfections. Check your brass after shooting and see if it has any obvious scratches. That would be a sign that the chamber isn’t smooth.
